Abstract

PT X is one of the leading multidiscipline consulting companies in Indonesia. With the emergence of COVID-19 at the beginning of 2020, the construction industry in Indonesia was also affected by declining in the growth of construction value in Indonesia by 20.92%. Of course, this also has an impact on PT X as part of the value chain in the construction industry. At the end of 2021, Indonesia’s economy grew significantly followed by Indonesia’s construction value. However, the project number of PT X was not following the growth then PT X should find a new strategy by doing external and internal analysis to improve its business strategy. This research would discuss further about suitable business strategies by analyzing its SWOT and finding its business solution with the TOWS matrix.

Abstract

Online food service delivery platform should be essential to improve the growth journey and create more benefits to culinary business owners. They have other challenges to provide the right solutions to various different segments, especially MSMEs (Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises). MSMEs have limitations in terms of digital literacy. In this study, the authors use the AFI framework (Analysis, Formulation, and Implementation) with a case study of determining ShopeeFood's business strategy through quantitative research by distributing questionnaires to respondents and finding difficulties and advantages for culinary business owners or merchants in registering and using online food service platforms. The results show that online food delivery system platform ShopeeFood has gained positive response in order to create benefits for merchants, especially MSME in helping their business growth but still need to improve especially for merchant journey. The strategy towards merchant journey especially MSME can be addressed by product improvement, marketing expansion and brand strengthening. The product improvement will deliver a better journey for merchants to register the platform and use the application.

Abstract

Recently, research on paradoxical strategies has been considered critical in winning in the competitive dynamic landscape, characterized by uncertainty and rapid changes in the business environment. Such environmental uncertainties require firm to apply paradoxical strategies; combining strategic flexibility and strategic consistency (Parnell, 1994). This study addresses three main questions: what is the effect of strategic flexibility on firm’s performance; what is the effect of strategic consistency on firm’s performance; what is the contingent effect of perceived environmental uncertainty on the relationship between paradoxical strategies and firm’s performance. Questionnaires were distributed to 131 CEOs or members of top management team of Indonesian commercial banks (including sharia banks); and the 59 returned responses were analyzed to test hypotheses. The results indicate that strategic flexibility has positive effect on bank‘s performance, while strategic consistency does not have significant effect on bank’s performance. In terms of combining these two paradoxical strategies, the results of this study confirm that the effect of strategic flexibility on bank’s performance depends on strategic consistency and environmental uncertainty.

Abstract

The research aimed to explore factors that could help schools enhance their innovation which is challenging due to their  institution nature. Three variables were investigated as the antecedents of innovations: entrepreneurial orientation, knowledge management, and organizational change readiness. In education, entrepreneurial orientation was gauged  through five dimensions: innovativeness, proactiveness, risk-taking, autonomy, and competitive aggressiveness. The knowledge management process involved three dimensions: knowledge creation, knowledge sharing, and knowledge utilization. The relationship between knowledge management variables was formative, as no single dimension fully captured the entire process; each contributes uniquely. Organizational change readiness dimensions included changing commitment and change efficacy. Dependent variable innovation was assessed through technical, administrative, and managerial innovation. The empirical research was quantitative by design, and data were collected from 110 private secondary schools across Indonesia. The research model was tested using partial least squares – structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) with the extended repeated indicator approach. The research finds that entrepreneurial orientation does not directly affect innovation, but it is fully mediated by organizational change readiness. Additionally, while knowledge management has a significant direct effect on innovation, organizational change readiness partially mediates the relationship. The research also highlights the importance of organizational change readiness, which has rarely been discussed in entrepreneurial orientation and knowledge management literature.

Abstract

The steel industry plays a crucial role in national development. Major global steel producers such as the United States, Russia, and Japan have seen declines due to the rise of China as a dominant steel producer. Integrated Steel Corporation (ISC) in Indonesia has also faced declining performance, with its market capitalization dropping by 68.9% over the past eight years. The research primarily aimed to analyze customer preferences in the maintenance industry and determine positioning strategies. Additionally, it sought to identify the factors driving the formation of the Strategic Maintenance Services (SMS) spin-off from ISC and propose strategies for SMS to achieve a competitive advantage. Data were collected qualitatively through interviews and Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) with customers to understand their perspectives, SMS management to grasp core business competencies and strategy, and ISC management to understand the parenting strategy. The results show several internal dynamics within ISC drove the formation of the SMS spin-off: 1) the transformation of the parent company; 2) short circuit incident at the main ISC factory; and 3) the cost burden of maintenance support. External factors indicate rapid industrial growth and the company's strengthening as a group after experiencing losses for almost a decade. The proposed strategy for SMS involves leveraging ISC’s subsidiaries and joint venture companies for centralized service maintenance. SMS aims to offer customized one-stop maintenance solutions with high quality at competitive prices by enabling Digital Maintenance Information (DMI). The target markets include large industries in steel manufacturing, petrochemicals, flour mills, cement, and logistics.

Abstract

This paper aims to analyze research trends of Digital Innovation in Banking scientifically through bibliometric studies. Initial data were collected using Publish or Perish from 2011 to 2021 by searching for published papers indexed by Crossref, Google Scholar, Microsoft Academic, and Scopus database. The results show that scientific publications of Digital Innovation in Banking have increased gradually since 2016. The Scopus database is used because it contains journals and conference proceedings deemed more relevant by the academic community with detailed DOIs. VOSviewer and Microsoft excel were used as the tools to analyze co-authorship, co-occurrence, and citation obtained from the Scopus database. The visualization of the research trends of Digital Innovation in Banking resulted in three co-occurrence clusters leading to some of the topic areas mentioned in the results; 1) Digital Innovation in Banking related to the technology implementation and environmental innovations, 2) Digital Innovation in Banking business management in the world, and 3) Digital Innovation in Banking in relating to its effect and benefit to society. Technology is rapidly changing the financial services industry, especially banks. Digital innovation resulting from the use of digital technology will help banking improve customer experience and maintain banking performance. These study findings will help researchers recognize the research trends of Digital Innovation in Banking globally and suggest future research directions.

Abstract

This study comprehensively explores the factors affecting product innovation performance in small e-businesses. The effects of the broader composition of digital eco-dynamics on the performance of product innovation of small businesses are little understood. This study tries to fill in the gaps and investigate the interdependencies above. This study offers the novelty of using RICH as a construct that can improve innovation performance, expanding on a digital eco-dynamic that has not been developed for ten years. Confirmatory factor analysis, descriptive statistics, construct reliability, average variance extracted, and the RMSEA model of fit test was used to analyze data from 300 useable responses. The test reliability and validity of the empirical model were evaluated through linguist reviews and statistically tested with construct reliability coefficients and confirmatory factor analysis. The findings also suggest that IT capability, dynamic capability, environmental uncertainty, and resource induce coping heuristics positively impact product innovation performance in small e-businesses. This research will contribute to developing innovation theory by offering RICH as a solution. The finding that RICH is positively and significantly related to innovation performance is significant for business actors, mainly because it is in the context of developing countries. For entrepreneurs, the findings of this study suggest that developing resources in a manner consistent with the RICH strategy for companies to be more entrepreneurially oriented. In this way, the development and actualization of cognitive resources can reduce uncertainty and lead to resource acquisition and resource protection by entrepreneurs
