Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of cocoa pod compost and get the right dose to increase the growth and yield of tomato plants. The research was carried out starting from December 2016 to March 2017 conducted at the UPT Experimental Station,  Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau. The study was conducted experiments using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of 6 treatments and 3 replications. The treatments are K0: Without doses of cocoa pod compost, K1: 10 tonnes.ha-1 (50 g/10 kg of soil), K2: 20 tonnes.ha-1 (100 g/10 kg of soil), K3: 30 tonnes.ha-1 (150 g/10 kg of land), K4: 40 tonnes.ha-1 (200 g/10 kg of land) and K5: 50 tonnes.ha-1 (250 g/10 kg of land). The parameters observed were plant height, age of flowering, stem diameter, age of harvest, number of fruits per plant, total weight of fruit per plant, total weight per fruit, fruit length, fruit diameter, number of fruit cavities and thick fruit flesh. The data obtained were analyzed using ANOVA and tested further with the Honestly Significant Difference test at the 5% point. The effects indicated that the application of cocoa pod composts significantly affected the parameters of plant height, age of flowering, stem diameter, age of harvest, number of plantations, total weight of fruit plantations, total weight per fruit, fruit length, fruit diameter and fruit flesh thickness. The total weight of fruit per plant has a positive correlation with plant height, stem diameter, number of fruit plants, thick fruit flesh, total weight per fruit, fruit length, fruit diameter, the number of fruit cavities. While the total weight fruit is negatively correlated with age at flowering and age at harvest. Cocoa pod compost dose 50 tonnes.ha-1 (250 g/10 kg soil) is the right dose for the growth and yield of tomato. Keywords: Tomato, Compost, Growth, Yield

Abstract

A phenomenon in Islamic boarding schools which has recently emerged to the surface, raises competition regarding the existence of a group. This group is called LGBT, in terms of sexual behavior that is not in general and is not common in the Islamic boarding school environment which upholds the Islamic religion. Therefore, this study aims to provide views from an Islamic religious, social, and health perspective on the LGBT phenomenon. The research method used is a qualitative descriptive approach with a phenomenological strategy. Research information includes observations of the author, LGBT individuals, in-depth interviews with his fellow students and analysis of documents. The results of the study show that religion views LGBT as deviant behavior that is not in accordance with Islamic religious principles. Many internal factors that influence a person to become LGBT are internal factors that are more dominant. The Islamic religion does not want this behavior by referring to the holy book and hadiths that marriage can only be carried out by a man and a woman, and if it deviates it is a big sin. On the other hand, there are efforts to restrain them from returning to their nature so that true human dignity and dignity are maintained and Islamic harmony with Islamic boarding school education.

Abstract

Science is always associated with general knowledge or science that studies worldly matters only. Some Muslims think that science has nothing to do with Islam or in other words, Islam does not need science. If the Islamic community's opinion about this still exists then Islam is in a danger zone, because Islam actually needs science. Islam and science are not two opposing camps, but rather two very unified camps. If we look deeper, the Koran presents many verses about science. The verses of the Koran about science range from 750 to 1000 verses. In fact, the first revelation that came down to the Prophet Muhammad SAW was the command to read. In the Qur'an, it is explained that paying attention to the universe, which also means studying science, is part of reading the verses of Allah SWT. Meanwhile, the results of research conducted by scientists about the universe do not contradict the Koran which was revealed 1400 years ago. If science and technology are only controlled by non-Muslims, then Muslims will be considered weaker and inferior in the field of science. Therefore, Islam needs the next generation of people who love and understand the contents of the Koran and are not blind to knowledge, especially science. Islam will spread its wings more in the fields of science and technology so that a generation of Muslims who are IMTAQ and SCIENTIFIC will be formed, namely a generation of Muslims who are faithful and devout and master science and technology.
