Abstract

The objectives of this community service (PPM) are as follows: (1) the application of pineapple waste fermentation technology with Trichoderma viride fungi for kampung chicken feed, (2) improving the knowledge and skills of poultry farmers in formulating cost-effective rations, (3) enhancing the knowledge and skills of poultry farmers in more efficient management and better production. The implementation method of community service involves active interaction between the project team and the target groups, which include 40 community members and farmer groups. The key stages in the implementation of the PPM are as follows: (1) dissemination and training, (2) active participation of farmer group members with the establishment of a Technical Consultation Service (TCS) forum for consultation and dialogue between the project team and poultry farmers, (3) hands-on practice in kampung chicken production management and pineapple waste processing using fermentation technology, (4) monitoring and evaluation (Monev) of the community service program in the farmer groups of Tangkit Baru, Muaro Jambi. The results of the community service activities are as follows: (1) the dissemination and training sessions have successfully increased the knowledge and skills of the participants, with the dissemination being rated as good, (2) the application of fermented pineapple waste as kampung chicken feed has been well-received by the farmer groups and the community in Tangkit Baru, Muaro Jambi (3) the implementation of this PPM program has proven highly beneficial for poultry farmers and implementing institutions, as it serves as a platform for the transfer of knowledge and technology, particularly in the traditional and non-business-oriented kampung chicken farming practices, thus optimizing the outcomes of these practices and facilitating the development of kampung chicken farming businesses.

Abstract

The nutritious content fermentation of palm oil sludge by P. chrysosporiumABSTRACT. This research is aimed at observing the nutritious content of palm oil sludge fermentation by P. chrysosporium. The experimental design used completely randomized design in factorial (3 x 3). The first factor is the inoculum dosage, namely : (D1). 3 %, (D2). 6 % and (D3). 9 % of substrate weight. The second factor is the length of fermentation, namely : (L1). 4 days, (L2). 8 days and (L3). 12 days. Every treatment is repeated for three time. The data found is scrutinized by mode print and it is followed by distance test of multiple Duncan (Steel and Torrie, 1989). The variables observed in research are dry materials, crude fiber, crude protein, cellulose and lignin. The research on the influence of inoculum dosage and the length of fermentation on dry materials content and crude protein shows insignificant interaction (P0.05). On the other hand, crude fiber, cellulose and lignin show significant interaction (P0.01). The inoculum dosage of 6 % and the fermentation length of 8 days is the best combination treatment and it can reduce the crude fiber amounting to 40.86 %, an increase of crude protein amounting to 30.75 % and a decrease of cellulose and lignin amounting to 39.78 % and 36.40 % respectively.

Abstract

Anchovy is one of potential commodities widely found and caught by fishermen in FMA-572 West Sumatra. Examining its exploitation rate is a part of taking control and monitor toward the fishing activities to avoid overfishing possibility. This recent study aims to calculate exploitation rate and oceanographic characteristics of anchovy fishing grounds. The data was collected from Bungus Oceanic Fishing Port, West Sumatra in 2018-2022. Meanwhile, sea surface temperature and chlorophyll data were obtained from https://marine.copernicus.eu/ and https://oceancolor.gsfc.nasa.gov 2018-2022, respectively. The results showed that the exploitation rate of anchovies in 2020 and 2022 has exceeded maximum sustainable yield categorized as overexploitation with a percentage of 130.44% and 112.84%. Anchovy catches are significantly influenced by oceanographic factors with F value 0.00000115 ( 0.05). An increase in CPUE value is align with chlorophyll increase and in contrary to sea surface temperature. The findings are expected to give an overview related to anchovy fishing activities implementation and become an input for fisheries governance that lead to sustainable fisheries management.Keywords:FMA-572MSYOverfishingSustainable fisheriesStolephorus sp
