Abstract

Meningkatnya populasi sapi potong di Kabupaten Jember menimbulkan permasalahan lingkungan pencemaran lingkungan karena banyaknya limbah ternak yang tidak di kelola dengan baik. Sebagian besar peternak di Kabupaten Jember belum mampu mengelola limbah ternak dengan baik, hal ini ditandai dengan 1) peternak membuang libah ke saluran air sehingga mencemari lingkungan, 2) peternak secara langsung menggunakan limbah ternak ke lahan yang justru merusak tanaman. Pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan peternak dalam; 1) proses pembuatan pupuk organik, 2) aplikasi penggunaan pupuk organi di lahan. Pengabdian ini dilaksanakan pada peternak sapi potong mitra dinas peternakan Kabupaten Jember. Hasil pengabdian ini diketahui bahwa membuat pupuk organik perlu penambahan bahan yaitu starter, arang sekam, kapur, serbuk gergaji dengan tujuan untuk meningkatkan unsur hara pupuk organik. Aplikasi pupuk organik pada lahan pertanian tidak menggantikan pupuk kimia, namun mampu memperbaiki unsur hara dalam tanah. Limbah ternak sapi yang melimpah merupakan potensi yang besar untuk memperbaiki unsur hara pada lahan pertanian yang sudah sangat tergantung dengan pupuk kimia. Oleh sebab itu pembuatan pupuk organik perlu terus di sosialisasilkan pada masyarakat terutama petani dan peternak di pedesaan yang minim akses informasi dan teknologi.

Abstract

Tujuan Program Inkubasi Bisnis Teknologi dapat mendorong terciptanya usaha peternakan dan peningkatan kemampuan Kelompok Peternak dalam mengelola usaha peternakannya. Salahsatu usaha yang dikembangkan dalam kelompok ternak nusantara adalah pembuatan pupuk organic, untuk memenuhi kebutuhan petani disekitar lokasi. Kendala yang dihadapi oleh peternak dalam mengembangkan pupuk organic adalah ketidak mampuan dalam mengembangkan MOL (mikro organisme local) sebagai bioaktivator untuk mempercepet proses dekomposisi limbah ternak domba. Metode dalam kegiatan ini adalah penyuluhan, pelatihan, monitoring dan evaluasi. Program Inkubasi Bisnis Teknologi pada kelompok ternak nusantara ini telah berhasil mengembangkan MOL (mikro organisme local) yang dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai  bioaktivator dalam pengomposan limbah ternak. MOL produksi kelompok ternak nusantara telah diuji cobakan pada anggota, dengan hasil yang cukup baik.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the difference in the level of revenues savor independent patterns and patterns of partnership at different scales, analyze business patterns and scale venture capable of producing the most income levels are high, analyze the relationship between the pattern and scale of effort against the income level, as well as to analyze the influence of factors of production costs against revenue level savor in Lumajang. Research conducted from 1 July until 31 September 2017 using data at one time production period. Sampling determined deliberately by grouping the respondents based on a combination of the pattern of independent business and partnerships, as well as household business scale, small, and medium. The population that used as many as 60 breeders consisting of 10 samples in each group of a combination of patterns and business scale. Data analysis is an analysis of income and multiple linear regression analysis. Bound variables in this study are the level of revenues savor (Y), with free variables that comprise the cost of day-old chick (X1), feed (X2), vaccines, medications, vitamins, and disinfectants (X3), laborer (X4), preparation cost of enclosure and fuel (X5), electricity (X6), depreciation cost of enclosure and equipment (X7), and the pattern of effort selected breeders (D) to run his business. The results of the analysis showed that the level of income breeders partnership is higher than a standalone pattern breeder (3.169 rupiahs > 2.801 rupiahs), whereas small-scale dairy farmers income levels greater than large-scale ranchers and scale house appliances (3.926 rupiahs > 2.564 rupiahs > 2.466 rupiahs). Combinations of patterns of partnership with small-scale yielding the highest income levels compared to the pattern and scale of other businesses. Multiple linear regression analysis results on F test shows that that simultaneously throughout the free variables (X1, X2, X3, X4, X5, X6, X7, and D) effect significantly to the variable (Y). Results on t-test showed that partially variables X1, X2, X3, X4, X7 and influential significantly to variable Y, whereas the variable X5, X6, and D do not affect significantly to the variable Y.Keywords : Income level, Business pattern, and Business scale.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis daya bersaing ayam KUB dan keberadaan ayam KUB berdasarkan harga ditingkat peternak dibandingkan dengan ayam joper, arab, broiler, dan ras petelur. Responden yang digunakan adalah sentral usaha ayam KUB yaitu UD Surya Ungas Jaya serta peternak yang tersebar di dua puluh kecamatan Kabupaten Jember. Metode yang digunakan yaitu survei dengan sampling yang diambil menggunakan teknik snowball sampling. Analisis data untuk mengetahui posisi ayam KUB dibandingkan dengan ayam joper, arab, broiler, dan ras petelur menggunakan Multi Dimensional Scaling (MDS) berdasarkan harga. Hasil analisis menunjukkan komoditas yang memiliki harga ayam KUB yang dilihat dari sisi harga adalah ayam joper. Peta positioning menunjukkan joker memiliki posisi terdekat dengan ayam KUB.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merumuskan strategi yang tepat dalam meningkatkan kualitas produk rokok kretek Gagak Hitam dan menentukan strategi prioritas yang dapat diterapkan dalam meningkatkan kualitas produk rokok kretek Gagak Hitam. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah studi kasus. Analisis yang digunakan adalah Strength, Weakness, Opportunities, Threats (SWOT), dan Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP). Responden yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah konsumen rokok kretek Gagak Hitam, manajer produksi, manajer personalia dan umum, manajer pengadaan dan perencanaan bahan baku, Disperindag, dan pakar akademik dari Politeknik Negeri Jember. Hasil analisis SWOT didapatkan 7 alternatif strategi yaitu konsistensi racikan, pengembangan pasar, peningkatan SOP, teknologi yang dapat mendukung produktivitas, penambahan kegiatan promosi, pelatihan SDM, dan penambahan bagian Research and Development (RnD). Hasil analisis AHP menghasilkan prioritas strategis yang direkomendasikan untuk perusahaan, yaitu konsistensi racikan.

Abstract

This study aims to find out the distribution and marketing margins of duck eggs in Situbondo. The methods used to collect data were survey and interviews suported by questionnaires. The analisys of  short and long distribution channels showed were 2.84% and 1.16% respectively. The short distribution channel was more efficient than long distributin channel, so that it provided greater benefits for marketing of duck eggs in Situbondo.

Abstract

This study was conducted to determine the effect of the addition of prebiotic oligofructose and phytase enzymes in feed containing wheat pollard on the performance of broiler. Oligofructose was added in feed 2 g/kg and phytase enzyme dose 500 U/kg. Parameters measured were broiler performance. One hundred broiler on 14 through 28 days were divided into 5 treatments: feed added P from dicalcium phosphate (P1), control feed (P2), feed added oligofructose (P3), feed added 2 g/kg phytase enzyme from Aspergillus niger (P4), and feed added a combination of oligofructose 2 g/kg and phytase enzyme dose of 500 U/g (P5). The data was analyzed to use Completely Randomized Design (CRD), if there was differences in further tests to be followed by Duncan's Multiple Range Test (DMRT). The results showed the feed containing high P, oligofructose addition, phytase enzyme, combination between oligofructose and phytase enzyme showed improvement of broiler performance on 14 to 28 days.

Abstract

The aim of this research was to know the effect of organic chromium on feed which was limited to quail phase pre-layer production performance. The experimental design of the study was a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of twelve treatments, three replicates, and each replication consisted of five quails. Data were analyzed by variance analysis then tested continued with the Least Significance Different (LSD). The treatments were P0R1 (adlibitum feed, energy metabolism (EM) 2,900 kcal/kg, protein 22%), P0R2 (adlibitum feed, EM 2,800 kcal/kg, 23% protein), P1R1 (restriction feed 10% of adlibitum, EM 2,900 kcal/kg, 22% protein), P1R2 (restriction feed 10% of adlibitum, EM 2,800 kcal/kg, 23%.protein), P2R1 (restriction feed 20% of adlibitum, EM 2,900 kcal/kg, 22%protein), P2R2 (restriction feed 20% of adlibitum, EM 2,800 kcal/kg, 23% protein), P0R1Cr (adlibitum feed, EM 2,900 kcal/kg, 22% protein with adding 2 ppm chromium), P0R2Cr (adlibitum feed, EM 2,800 kcal/kg, 23% with adding protein 2 ppm chromium), P1R1Cr (restriction feed 10% of adlibitum, EM 2,900 kcal/kg, 22% protein with adding 2 ppm chromium), P1R2Cr (restriction feed 10% from adlibitum, EM 2,800 kcal/kg, 23% protein with adding 2 ppm chromium), P2R1Cr (20% restriction feed of adlibitum, EM 2,900 kcal/kg, 22% protein with adding 2 ppm chromium) and P2R2Cr (restriction feed 20% from adlibitum, EM 2,800 kcal/kg, 23% protein with adding 2 ppm chromium). Parameters observed included feed intake, body weight gain, and feed conversion. The results showed that the addition of organic chromium to the limiting feed had a significant effect (P<0.01) on feed consumption, body weight gain, and feed conversion. Organic chromium might give 2 ppm on feed that was limited to 10% of EM 2,900 kcal/kg adlibitum, 22% protein.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to know the effect of vitamin C supplementation and distance transportation on broiler weight loss. The method used in this study using 128 days of unisexing broiler. The experimental design used a Factorial Completely Randomized Design. The experimental factor consisted of 2 factors, such as the distance factor with 2 levels, 24 km (a1) and 48 km (a2), and the sumplemetation factor of vitamin C with 4 levels such as 0 mg/L (b1), 250 mg/L (b2), 500 mg/L (b3), and 750 mg/L (b4). The experiment was 4 times replication. If obtained significantly result, continued by Least Significant Difference test (LSD). Vitamin C supplementation was significant to weight loss, heart rate, glucose, and mortality in broilers during transportation. The transportation mileage was significant to weight loss and heart rate in broilers. Supplementation of vitamin C and transportation mileage provided a significant interaction weight loss, heart rate, glucose, and mortality in broilers.

Abstract

The aim of the study was to determine the level of use of fermented snail meat protein hydrolyzate (FSMPH) as a reduction of fish meal (FM) in the ration, and its effect on the production performance of “super” native chicken (SNC). Research materials were SNC unsexing and FSMPH. The study used an experimental method with a completely randomized design with 5 treatments and 4 replications. The research ration treatments included P0 = FM 8% without FSMPH (Control), P1= FM 6%+FSMPH 5 ml/kg ration, P2= FM 4%+FSMPH 10 ml/kg ration, P3= FM 2%+FSMPH 15 ml/kg ration, P4= FM 0%+FSMPH 20 ml/kg ration. Research rations began to be applied to chickens aged 2 days old until the harvest was 60 days old. The results showed that the a reduction of FM with FSMPH on SNC ration consumption at each level had no significant effect (P>0.05) but presented a significant difference (P<0.05) on lower final body weight, lower ADG and higher FCR, especially for treatment P4 with a FSMPH level of 20 ml/kg of feed. The conclusion was that FSMPH usage up to 75% can be used to reduce the FM percentage in the ration as much as 8%.
