Abstract

Umah Kantur merupakan salah satu arsitektur vernakular yang terdapat di Dataran Tinggi Gayo. Menghadirkan kenyamanan termal yang baik pada objek penelitian ini merupakan salah satu tantangan tersendiri, dikarenakan kayu merupakan material utama yang digunakan pada lokasi objek penelitian yang terletak di dataran tinggi dan memiliki temperatur rata-rata 20,10oC ini. Material kayu merupakan material ringan (lightweight) yang tidak dapat menyimpan panas dalam waktu yang lama sehingga dapat dilepaskan dengan mudah, sedangkan rumah ini terletak di daerah dingin yang memerlukan energi panas di dalam rumah. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui tingkat kenyamanan termal pada rumah vernakular yaitu Umah Kantur yang akan dibandingkan dengan kenyamanan termal yang terjadi pada rumah kontemporer yaitu rumah tinggal yang terdapat di samping Umah Kantur. Metode yang digunakan di dalam penelitian ini yaitu metode kuantitatif dengan menganalisis data hasil pengukuran menggunakan standar temperature efektif. Dari temuan yang didapat, dapat disimpulkan bahwa tingkat kenyamanan termal pada rumah vernakular memiliki kondisi yang lebih baik jika dibandingkan dengan rumah kontemporer. Nilai temperatur efektif pada rumah vernakular berkisar antara 21,5-26oC dan seluruh waktu perhitungan sudah memenuhi standar kenyamanan termal temperatur efektif SNI 03-6572-2001, sedangkan pada rumah kontemporer berkisar antara 20,1-24,7oC dan terdapat beberapa waktu yang menunjukkan nilai temperatur tidak sesuai dengan standar.

Abstract

In tourism development, the majority of building materials used are modern materials. Even many local people are not familiar with the typical building materials of Central Aceh. Roofs made of serule leaves are traditional materials in Central Aceh (Ferah Yosantia et al., n.d.). The serule plant has flowers and leaves that are similar to Etlingera elatior, the Zingiberaceae family. Serule leaves grow abundantly around the edge of Lake Laut Tawar, Bintang District which continues eastward for 20 km to Serule Village. So this community service developed the manufacture of serule leaf roofs through mentoring and training for the people of Genuruen Village. This service activity was carried out in Genuren Village, Aceh Tengah applying several stages, namely: preparation stage, socialization, and implementation of activities and evaluation. Each stage is carefully planned so that the activity runs according to expectations. There are several parties involved in this activity. The results of this training will be used as a roof covering material for Umah Pitu Ruang, as a continuation of the unfinished UPR Redevelopment project. The goal is to maintain and revive the tradition of traditional craftsmanship. In addition, the final product of this serule soup will also be used in the renovation of gazebos as public facilities in Genuren Village. From the training activities on making traditional roofs using serule leaves, the community gained knowledge and skills to make serule soup. Thus, the community in Genuren Village can preserve the serule plant which is now rare, utilize local resources effectively, and improve their economic welfare.

Abstract

Bamboo is very abundant in the Gayo Highlands, but locals mostly use it for simple things like temporary shelters in rice fields and fences around houses. In the past, before modern materials became widely available, bamboo played a significant role in traditional Gayo buildings, both structurally and culturally. A three-day bamboo workshop was held to revive bamboo as a versatile, sustainable building material for modern architecture, while preserving its cultural significance. The workshop had two main goals: teaching how bamboo can work with modern materials like steel and cement, and showing new designs for tourism buildings using bamboo. Participants learned how to process bamboo, connect pieces, and preserve it. They also created new building ideas combining bamboo with other materials. The workshop helped the community understand bamboos environmental, cultural, and economic importance, supporting sustainable tourism and contributing to global goals for sustainable cities and responsible use of resources.

Abstract

Abstract : Acoustical design as part of the audio comfort influences the architectural design strategy of a mosque significantly. As belonging to the speech room criteria, a mosque should meet some acoustic room requirements to deliver the solemnness to the worshipper during the prayer. Concerning this, the study aims to assess the indoor acoustics performance of Baiturrahman Grand Mosque, Banda Aceh. Baiturrahman grand mosque is an important place of worship for Acehnese and becoming a landmark of Banda Aceh City. The mosque which contains a lot of history of Aceh was built in heavy construction, i.e. concrete wall, marble coated floor, and concrete dome ceiling. Due to its significance, the room acoustics of the mosque as the primary design considerations in a speech room type is evaluated. The acoustics parameters estimated are Noise Criteria (NC), Sound Pressure Level (SPL), Reverberation Time (RT), and Rapid Speech Transmission Index (RASTI). The background noise was recorded for delivering the noise criteria and being the primary data carried out in the acoustic simulation. The study utilised CATT-Acoustic v7.2 software for simulating predicting SPL, RT, and RASTI.Abstrak : Desain akustik merupakan bagian dari parameter audio yang mempengaruhi desain arsitektur masjid secara signifikan. Masjid termasuk dalam kategori speech room yang harus memenuhi beberapa persyaratan akustik ruang untuk dapat menghadirkan kekhusyukan kepada jamaah selama sholat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menilai kinerja akustik dalam ruangan Masjid Raya Baiturrahman, Banda Aceh. Masjid Raya Baiturrahman adalah tempat ibadah yang penting bagi orang Aceh dan menjadi simbol Kota Banda Aceh. Masjid yang memuat banyak sejarah Aceh ini terbuat dari dinding beton, lantai berlapis marmer, dan langit-langit kubah beton. Pada studi ini, parameter akustik ruang yang dievaluasi adalah Kriteria Kebisingan (NC), Tingkat Tekanan Suara (SPL), Waktu Gema (RT), dan Indeks Transmisi kecepatan Bicara (RASTI). Kebisingan latar belakang direkam untuk memberikan kriteria kebisingan dan menjadi data primer yang dilakukan dalam simulasi akustik. Studi ini menggunakan perangkat lunak CATT-Acoustic v7.2 untuk mensimulasikan prediksi SPL, RT, dan RASTI.

Abstract

Abstract: A mosque is a place of worship for Muslims. Modernity concept to visualize the simple form in a mosque is relevant, which would help the worshippers to be more solemn. Office buildings, mainly located in Aceh, known as Serambi Mekkah, are required to provide a mosque in the office environment. Since its concept transforms from traditional style to modern style, the mosque in the office area is designed in modernity. The study purposes of enabling climate-responsive principles in mosque design for achieving indoor thermal comfort. Even though without available power support. The design method approached problem-solving by creating the building friendly to the environment and achieving indoor thermal comfort. This study used trial and error through modeling appropriate to climate-responsiveness mosque design in the office area. Furthermore, this study would be continued in complex buildings, namely schools and offices, promoting environmentally-friendly to be applied in building design. Abstrak: Masjid adalah tempat ibadah bagi umat Islam. Konsep modernitas untuk memvisualisasikan bentuk sederhana di masjid adalah relevan, yang akan membantu jamaah untuk lebih khusyuk. Gedung perkantoran khususnya yang berada di Aceh yang dikenal dengan Serambi Mekkah wajib menyediakan mushola di lingkungan kantor. Karena konsepnya bertransformasi dari gaya tradisional ke gaya modern, masjid di area perkantoran juga didesain dengan gaya modern. Tujuan studi ini adalah untuk mengaktifkan prinsip responsif iklim dalam desain masjid untuk mencapai kenyamanan termal dalam ruangan meskipun tanpa dukungan daya yang tersedia. Metode desain pada studi ini menggunakanpendekatan pemecahan masalah untuk menciptakan bangunan ramah lingkungan dan mencapai kenyamanan termal dalam ruangan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode trial and error melalui pemodelan yang sesuai dengan desain masjid yang responsif terhadap iklim di kawasan perkantoran. Selanjutnya studi ini akan dilanjutkan penerapannya pada bangunan kompleks seperti sekolah dan perkantoran untuk mempromosikan desain bangunan ramah lingkungan.
