Abstract

Price fluctuations not only harm consumers when prices increase, but also harm producers and traders when commodity prices decrease. Efforts to control food prices are important to maintain economic stability which has an impact on improving the welfare of society as a whole. Chicken eggs are one of the commodities that often experience price fluctuations. The purpose of this study was to analyze the price fluctuations of chicken eggs and analyze the factors that influence the price fluctuations of chicken eggs in East Java Province in 2019-2023. This study uses the ARCH/GARCH and VAR/VECM model analysis methods. The ARCH/GARCH model analysis is used to analyze the price fluctuations of chicken eggs in East Java Province, while VAR/VECM is used to analyze the factors that influence changes in beef prices in East Java Province. The variables tested include the price of chicken eggs (rupiah/kg), the price of catfish (rupiah/kg) which is a substitute good, the price of rice (rupiah/kg) which is a complementary good, inflation (%), the rupiah exchange rate, and interest rates (%). The results showed that the price of chicken eggs in East Java Province is included in the low fluctuation category. Factors that significantly affect changes in the price of chicken eggs in East Java Province in the short term are the rupiah exchange rate, interest rates, and rice prices; while factors that significantly affect changes in the price of chicken eggs in East Java Province in the long term are inflation, interest rates, and rice prices.

Abstract

Broiler chicken is one of the strategic livestock commodities in Indonesia, because in addition to being easily obtained by the public, the price of broiler chicken meat is relatively affordable. This study aims to analyze the fluctuation of broiler chicken meat prices and analyze the factors that influence the fluctuation of broiler chicken meat prices in East Java Province. The analysis in this study uses the ARCH / GARCH method to analyze the level of fluctuation and uses the VAR / VECM model to analyze the factors that influence the fluctuation of chicken meat prices in East Java Province. The research variables include the price of broiler chicken meat in East Java Province, the price of rice (as a complementary good), the price of eggs (as a substitute good), the world meat price index, inflation, the rupiah exchange rate, and interest rates. The results of the study indicate that the fluctuation of broiler chicken meat prices in East Java Province in the 2019-2023 period is included in the low category. The results of the short-term estimation show that there are no variables that have a significant effect on the fluctuation of broiler chicken meat prices, while the results of the long-term estimation show that the variables that have a significant effect on changes in broiler chicken meat prices in East Java Province are the price of rice, the price of eggs, the world meat price index, inflation, the rupiah exchange rate, and interest rates.

Abstract

Towards a Prima sadarsih Village (Aware of Environmental Cleanliness) was the main program of Turirejo Village in 2025 and supports the Food Security Program initiated by President Prabowo. In line with the Village SDGs, each village is required to realize 18 SDGs for the welfare of the village community. This community service is carried out to support the implementation of SDGs, namely SDGs [2] Hunger-Free Village and SDGs [12] Consumption and Production of Environmentally Conscious Villages. This community service activity is located in Turirejo Village, Jepon District, Blora Regency. Based on data from the Village Development Index, Turirejo Village, Jepon District, Blora Regency is still included in the developing village. One of the main village programs in 2024 focused on food and environmental agriculture problems. These activities aim to increase the environmental awareness of cattle farmers and ranchers in Prima Sadarsih Village. The activity method used is the socialization and extension method. Based on the community service activities carried out, there was an increase of their knowledge from 55% to 90%.

Abstract

The supply chain system and marketing efficiency need to be considered in a farm to produce high-quality products, ensure efficient distribution of sheep, and realize a sustainable farming business. The aim of this study is to examine the supply chain in terms of product flow, financial flow, and information flow, and to analyze the marketing efficiency of fattening sheep at Raja Domba Indonesia farm. The research location was intentionally chosen to be at Raja Domba Indonesia in Jember Regency. The research method utilized was descriptive and analytical. The data used included both primary and secondary data sourced from Raja Domba Indonesia farm. The technique for determining informants in this study used purposive sampling. Informants consisted of six people, namely the farm owner, administration, financial division, livestock procurement division, sales division, and buyers. The research findings indicate that there are three networks in the supply chain, and the links involved in the supply chain include breeding farmers, livestock groups, Raja Domba Indonesia farm, community farmers, end consumers, catering services, and butchers. The marketing efficiency values for network 1 are 9.5%, for network 2 are 7.8%, and for network 3 are 7.7%. The supply chain for fattening sheep at Raja Domba Indonesia consists of three flows: product flow, financial flow, and information flow, all of which are well integrated. The Conclussion show that the marketing efficiency at Raja Domba Indonesia farm falls into the efficient category because it is below 33%.

Abstract

Livestock businesses generally produce outputs in the form of main results and side products (by-products). By-products in the form of livestock waste generally have not been managed and processed by business actors, even though the management and processing of livestock waste has the potential to improve the community's economy, because livestock waste, in addition to being abundant in quantity, is also continuously produced from livestock businesses. The aim of the research is to examine the internal and external analysis of the construction of an organic fertilizer factory made from livestock manure as raw material. The research location is Sumberjambe District, Jember Regency. The research was conducted using quantitative descriptive methods. Data collection methods use desk research, observation, Focus Group Discussion (FGD), and surveys. This research involved 34 key respondents in efforts to build an organic fertilizer factory. Data analysis uses the IFAS, EFAS and SWOT analysis approaches. The research results showed that internal analysis consisting of strength and weakness factors had a weight of 0.505 and 0.495, while external analysis consisting of opportunity and threat factors had a weight of 0.527 and 0.473. This research concluded that the strategy for building an organic fertilizer factory in Jember Regency uses a strengths and opportunities strategy, namely utilizing internal strengths to seize opportunities.

Abstract

The plasma core partnership-based sheep fattening business in Bondowoso Regency is a form of collaboration between partner breeders and core companies, as a form of livestock business sustainability in increasing global competitiveness. The core plasma partnership program for sheep fattening encourages farmers to guarantee an appropriate market share and increases farmers' income. This research aims to analyze operational costs, farmer income, and factors that influence the plasma core partnership system sheep fattening business. The research variables consist of farmer income (Y), livestock population (X1), weight difference (X2), daily body weight gain (X3), feed consumption (X4), and feed consumption costs (X5). The research was conducted at UD. Alfatih Multi Farm Petung Village, Curahdami District, Bondowoso Regency, East Java Province. Data analysis used SPSS 26.0 and Microsoft Excel software. The research results showed that the operational costs of 104 sheep breeders with ownership of 4,023 sheep with an average livestock weight of 20 Kg and feed consumption of 173,237 Kg and feed consumption costs of 3500/Kg, then the operational costs of 104 sheep breeders with a core plasma partnership system in Bondowoso Regency amounting to IDR 787,364,500. With an average operational cost for 1 farmer of IDR 7,570,812.5 for a maintenance period of 2 months (60 days). The income of sheep breeders is 104 partner breeders with farmer income of IDR 390,613,550, ownership of 4,023 sheep with an average livestock weight of 20 Kg and feed consumption of 173,237 Kg and feed consumption costs of 3500/Kg. So the income of 104 sheep farmers with the core plasma partnership system in Bondowoso Regency is IDR 396,750,950. With an average income of 1 farmer of IDR 3,814,912.9 in a maintenance period of 2 months (60 days). The number of livestock populations is positively but not significantly influenced by breeder income by 0.924, the weight difference is positively but not significantly influenced by breeder income by 0.381, daily body weight gain is positively but not significantly influenced by breeder income by 0.291, feed consumption is positively influenced and significant to the farmer's income of 0.000, and the cost of feed consumption is positively influenced but not significant to the farmer's income of 0.120. The conclusion of this research is that operational costs, farmer income, and the factors that influence them influence the sustainability of the plasma core partnership system sheep fattening business in Bondowoso Regency.

Abstract

Plasma core partnerships are one solution for farmers who have limited capital in running a sheep farming business. The success of the sheep farming business process can be achieved if the business is able to obtain profitable results, so that the business can be sustainable. This research aims to analyze the factors that determine the income of sheep farmers using a plasma core partnership system. The research was conducted in January-June 2023 in Jember Regency. This research uses quantitative methods. The research data consists of primary data obtained by observation and secondary data obtained from the Recap of Breeders' Rearing Results (RHPP) of the core company, namely UD Al Fatih Multi Farm. The variables observed were the number of sheep population kept by the partner (X1), the difference in sheep weight (X2), the Daily Body Weight Gain (PBBH) of the sheep (X3), the total weight of sheep feed received by the partner (X4), and the cost of feed consumption (X5 ), and farmer income (Y). The total research sample was 43 breeders (total sampling). Research data was analyzed using quantitative descriptive analysis and multiple linear regression. The results of the research show that the number of sheep populations raised by partners, sheep feed consumption, and the cost of consuming sheep feed have a significant influence on farmer income, but the difference in sheep weight and PBBH has an insignificant influence on farmer income. The conclusion of the research shows that farmers who partner with UD Al Fatih Multi Farm have an average sheep rearing population of 30.41 ± 7.1 head, the average difference in sheep weight after the rearing process is 154.96 ± 66 kg, the average The PBBH of sheep is 0.08 ± 0.03 kg, the average feed consumption is 264.21 ± 4.9 kg, the average feed consumption cost is IDR 3,525,738 ± 1,695,585, and the average income of plama farmers is IDR 4,224,162±1,186,761. The recommendation obtained from this research is that sheep farming with a plasma core partnership system has great potential to be developed.

Abstract

Pekarangan menjadi salah satu sumber pemenuhan kebutuhan pangan keluarga, namun sering kali tanaman pekarangan dibiarkan tumbuh liar. Sementara itu, di Desa Suci telah terbentuk kelembagaan pengelolaan sampah melalui Bank Sampah Larahan Makmur, tetapi pengelolaan masih terbatas pada sampah nonorganik, sedangkan sampah organik rumah tangga belum tertangani dengan baik. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan memberikan edukasi dan pelatihan pengolahan sampah organik rumah tangga menggunakan metode Takakura serta pemanfaatannya untuk budidaya di pekarangan sebagai upaya mendukung ketahanan pangan rumah tangga. Peserta pelatihan adalah ibu-ibu anggota Bank Sampah Larahan Makmur. Metode Takakura yang digunakan merupakan teknik pengolahan sampah organik dengan keranjang sebagai media utama fermentasi. Kegiatan pelatihan dilaksanakan melalui pendekatan edukasi, praktik langsung, dan pendampingan. Hasil pelaksanaan menunjukkan bahwa peserta sangat antusias mengikuti pelatihan serta mampu meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan dalam pengolahan sampah organik rumah tangga dengan metode Takakura untuk menghasilkan pupuk organik yang dapat dimanfaatkan dalam budidaya pekarangan.

Abstract

ABSTRACT. Bakso ayam KUB fortifikasi ekstrak daun sirsak merupakan salah satu diversifikasi produk yang bersifat pangan fungsional. Kandungan Flavonoid pada daun sirsak dapat berfungsi sebagai antioksidan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menganalisa pengaruh penambahan ekstrak daun sirsak dengan level yang berbeda terhadap kandungan protein, daya ikat air, organoleptik dan kandungan antioksidan bakso ayam KUB. Rancangan percobaan yang digunakan dalam penelitian adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL), terdiri dari 4 perlakuan yaitu penambahan ekstrak daun sirsak 0% (P0), 2% (P1), 4% (P2) dan 6% (P3) terhadap total bahan bakso daging ayam. Parameter yang diukur antara lain kandungan protein, daya ikat air, kandungan antioksidan dan organoleptik. Kandungan Protein dan antioksidan tertinggi pada penambahan ekstrak daun sirsak 6% sebesar 18, 67 % dan 45,07%. Daya ikat air tertinggi yaitu 69,44% pada perlakuan kontrol. Penambahan ekstrak daun sirsak pada bakso ayam KUB memiliki hasil uji organoleptik yang lebih dominan pada penambahan ekstrak daun sirsak 6% dengan warna bakso hijau muda, cukup beraroma daun sirsak, tekstur tidak kenyal dengan rasa sedikit pahit. Uji hedonik dengan penilaian lebih dominan pada skala 3 yaitu penambahan ekstrak daun sirsak 2% baik dari warna, aroma, tekstur dan rasa.(Fortified KUB Chicken Meatballs Soursop (Annona muricata Linn) Leaf Extract: Overview of Protein Content, Water Holding Capacity, Organoleptic, and Antioxidant Content)ABSTRAK. KUB chicken meatballs fortified with soursop leaf extract is one of the functional food product diversifications. Flavonoid content in soursop leaves can function as antioxidants. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of adding soursop leaf extract at different levels on protein content, water holding capacity, organoleptic and antioxidant content of KUB chicken meatballs. The experimental design used in this study was a completely randomized design (CRD), consisting of 4 treatments, namely the addition of soursop leaf extract 0% (P0), 2% (P1), 4% (P2) and 6% (P3) to the total meatball ingredients chicken meat. Parameters measured included protein content, water holding capacity, antioxidant and organoleptic content. The highest protein and antioxidant content in the addition of 6% soursop leaf extract was 18.67% and 45.07%. The highest water holding capacity was 69.44% in the control treatment. The addition of soursop leaf extract to KUB chicken meatballs had more dominant organoleptic test properties in the addition of 6% soursop leaf extract with light green meatball color, quite soursop leaf aroma, texture not chewy with a slightly bitter taste. The hedonic test with a more dominant assessment on a scale of 3, namely the addition of 2% soursop leaf extract in terms of color, aroma, texture and taste.

Abstract

ABSTRAK. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi usaha ternak ayam broiler sistem kemitraan inti plasma berbasis Index Performance (IP). Penelitian dilakukan dengan pendekatan desk research dan deskriptif analitis. Data primer didapat dari wawancara mendalam (in depth interview) kepada peternak selaku pihak plasma dan perusahaan peternakan selaku pihak inti atau pemilik modal. Wawancara dilakukan secara bersama dengan kedua belah pihak, pihak inti dan pihak plasma dengan tujuan untuk menguak data, fakta, dan realita sistem kemitraan inti plasma ayam broiler. Data sekunder diperoleh dari data kontrak kemitraan, hasil pencatatan pemeliharaan ayam broiler (recording) selama masa produksi, dan Rekapitulasi Hasil Pemeliharaan Peternak (RHPP) pada populasi 2.000 ekor. Hasil penelitian didapatkan bahwa usaha ternak ayam broiler dengan sistem inti plasma menghabiskan biaya sapronak sebesar 67.733.672,00 dengan ketentuan biaya DOC sebesar 20,66%, biaya pakan sebesar 77,64%, dan biaya OVK sebesar 2,93%. Penjualan ayam yang didapat mencapai 75.268.878,50 dengan umur panen 35,00 hari dengan berat rata-rata 2,12 kg. Jumlah ayam yang dipanen sebanyak 1.927 ekor, artinya level deplesi hanya 3,65%. Nilai FCR 1,615 dengan nilai IP sebesar 361,43. Kesimpulan yang didapat yaitu secara keseluruhan pemeliharaan ayam broiler yang dilakukan oleh peternak plasma berada dalam kategori sangat baik. Pendapatan peternak plasma sebesar 11.665.363,00 (setelah ditambah bonus harga pasar, bonus FCR, dan bonus deplesi).Kata kunci: ayam pedaging, indeks performa, peternakan, sistem kemitraan, inti plasma.Evaluation of Broiler Chicken Livestock with the Core Plasma Partnership System       Based on Index Performance (IP)ABSTRACT. The aim of this study was to evaluate broiler farming in a plasma core partnership system based on Index Performance (IP). Interviews were conducted jointly with both parties, the core party and the plasma party with the aim of uncovering data, facts, and the reality of the broiler plasma core partnership system. Secondary data was obtained from partnership contract data, the results of recording broiler chicken maintenance (recording) during the production period, and Breeder Maintenance Results Recapitulation (RHPP) in a population of 2,000 birds. The results showed that the broiler farming business with the plasma core system with input cost 67,733,672.00 with the provisions that the DOC cost was 20.66%, the feed cost was 77.64%, and the OVK cost was 2.93%. Sales of chickens reached 75,268,878.50 with a harvest age of 35.00 days with an average weight of 2.12 kg. The number of chickens harvested was 1,927, meaning the depletion level was only 3.65%. FCR value of 1.615 with an IP value of 361.43. The conclusion obtained is that overall the maintenance of broiler chickens carried out by plasma farmers is in the very good category. Plasma farmer income of 11,665,363.00 (after adding market price bonuses, FCR bonuses and depletion bonuses).
