Abstract

Synbiotic tempeh extract soyghurt is a Krenova (creative and innovative) food product because it is novelty and unique as healthy and safe food, functional food, fun for diet and one for all. The result of probiotic fermentation of Lactic Acid Bacteria (LAB) and based on synbiotic tempeh extract (rice bran and chitosan) which has multifunctional anti-hyperglycemia and anti-hypercholesterolemia properties. Research objective: to analyze the effectiveness of synbiotic tempeh soyghurt as a functional drink. The research method analyzes the nutritional content and quality of synbiotic tempeh soygurt products which refer to SNI 7552:2009 concerning flavored fermented milk. Data analysis used bivariate and multivariate Anova tests. The Hedonic test results showed a semi-solid texture, white color, synbiotic tempeh extract aroma, sour taste in the formulation with the addition of 15% skim milk, 1% chitosan, 1:1 ratio LAB starter mix and 5% inoculum. The results of physical chemical and mycobiological quality tests show that the synbiotic tempeh extract meets the quality test as a functional drink.

Abstract

Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is a carbohydrate, protein, and fat metabolism disorder marked with hyperglycemia or blood glucose increase due to an abnormality of insulin secretion or decreased work performance of insulin. One of the handlers of Diabetes Mellitus is exercise. Low impact aerobic gymnastics is a gymnastics with low to moderate intensities, easy-to-do movements, injury-free movements, rhythmic movements, non-jerking movements, and rare sudden movement. Breathing relaxation is a breathing exercise which consists of abdomen breathing and purse lip breathing to reduce stress. The objective of this research is to investigate the effect of low impact aerobic gymnastics and deep breathing relaxation on blood sugar level of the diabetes mellitus elderly at Anggrek Integrated Health Post of Kartasura. This research uses quantitative method with a quasi-experimental research design with a pre-test and post-test approach without control group design. The result of the Wilcoxon’s Test shows that the p-value was 0.000 which was less than 0.05, meaning that the administration of low impact aerobic gymnastics and deep breathing relaxation could reduce the blood sugar level of the diabetes mellitus elderly. Thus, the low impact aerobic gymnastics and deep breathing relaxation had an effect on the blood sugar level of the diabetes mellitus elderly at Anggrek Integrated Health Post of Kartasura.

Abstract

Introduction: The chemical substance of durian peel (Durio zibethinus L.) is a polysaccharide polymer of D-galacturonic acid which is polar and anti-microbial. Chitosan is a derivative of chitin from the peels of Crustaceae animals, which is polycationic and antimicrobial; biodegradable, and biocompatible with animal tissues. Diabetic ulcers are chronic wounds due to neurological disorders and vascular disorders in the legs, causing tissue damage. The purpose of the study was to analyze the effectiveness of galenic preparations of durian peel extract and chitosan for the treatment of diabetic ulcers.Method: This research is experimental including testing the quality of 5% durian peel extract cream preparations; 2% chitosan, a mixture of both ratio = 1:1; 1:2 physically, chemically, microbiologically, and the rate of wound healing in test animals. Statistical data analysis of One Way Anova parametric test.Results:  The results showed that the preparation of galenic durian peel extract cream and chitosan and their combination ratio (1:1), (1:2) could be formulated and met the quality test of cream preparations physically, chemically, and microbiologically according to the requirements of BPOM No. 32 of 2019 and is effective for healing diabetic ulcers on the 8th day.Conclusions: The preparation of galenic durian peel extract cream and chitosan and their combination ratio (1:1), (1:2) can potentially be developed as a cream preparation for healing diabetic ulcers.

Abstract

Chitooligosakarida (COS) merupakan senyawa kompleks golongan glikoprotein yang memiliki ikatan 1,4glukosamin, hasil proses deasetilasi kitin dan sebagai oligosakarida yang berasal dari hewani dari limbah kulitkepiting yang sangat potensial dan berlimpah di Indonesia. Konsep sinergistik yaitu campuran COS sebagaiprebiotik alami hewani dengan probiotik (Bakteri Asam Laktat) diharapkan dapat digunakan sebagai sebagaisatu bahan yang berpotensi sebagai food additive, antibiotik alternatif, imunostimulan penurun kolesterol yangbersifat ekonomis, multiguna khususnya di bidang kesehatan. Tujuan penelitian adalah mengkaji efek sinergistikChitooligosakarida dan Lactobacillus acidophilus FNCC 0051 terhadap penurunan kadar kolesterol secara invivo. Analisis mutu meliputi rendemen, kelarutan, derajat deasetilasi, viskositas serta pengkajian efek sinergistiksinbiotik secara in vitro meliputi pengukuran pertumbuhan probiotik dalam media kultur. Analisis datamenggunakan analisis varian general linier models univariate. Hasil penelitian diperoleh sintesis dan analisismutu COS dari kulit kepiting meliputi rendemen 51,36%, kelarutan 58,59%, derajat deasetilasi 88,76% danviskositas 122 cp. Adanya efek sinergistik Chitooligosakarida dan Lactobacillus acidophilus FNCC 0051 COSterhadap penurunan kadar kolesterol secara signifikan.
