Abstract

Background: Caesarean Section (CS) is an action carried out to give birth to a baby through surgery on the abdomen and uterine wall. The obstacles to breastfeeding that occur in postpartum caesarean section mothers are caused by postoperative pain that disturbs the mother's comfort and can inhibit the work of the posterior putative gland nerves that produce the hormone oxytocin which plays a role in the lactation process. Oxytocin massage is one of the solutions applied to overcome the lack of smooth breast milk. In addition, it is interpreted as a massage on the spine to the fifth-sixth costae bone to stimulate the oxytocin and prolific hormones after giving birth, the function of this massage is to increase the oxytocin hormone which can make the mother calm, so that breast milk will automatically come out Objective: to provide nursing care to post-Cesarean section clients with ineffective breastfeeding nursing problems by administering oxytocin massage.Method : using descriptive methods, namely case studies used on a group of objects Results: he problem of ineffective breastfeeding nursing experienced by Mrs. M and Mrs. C After oxytocin massage was performed, there was a change or increase in breast milk production in Mrs. M and Mrs. C. Suggestion: It is expected to be able to develop capabilities in the field of maternity health with non-pharmacological therapy, namely oxytoin massage in providing nursing care to postpartum mothers with ineffective breastfeeding problems.

Abstract

Abstract

This study employs a descriptive method with a case study approach. The participants in this research were pediatric patients who suffered from hyperthermia. The non-pharmacological intervention of tepid water sponge compresses is utilized effectively to lower body temperature in children. The compresses are applied to the forehead and axillary regions, and this procedure is conducted for 3 days, with each compress lasting 15 minutes. The findings from this study over the course of 3 days indicate that the use of tepid water sponge compresses is effective in reducing body temperature in children with hyperthermia.

Abstract

Ineffective communication poses significant risks to patients, with 30% of nurses failing to provide accurate information to doctors, although 70% do provide good information, reducing patient risk (Depkes RI, 2008). Communication impacts both patients and healthcare workers, with nurses facing difficulties due to the lack of handover communication guidelines, which can endanger patients (Watulangkow et al., 2020). According to Permenkes No. 11 of 2017, 79.7% of incidents in Indonesian health centers result from ineffective communication. Dewi et al. (2019) found that the SBAR (Situation, Background, Assessment, Recommendation) technique in patient care reduces adverse events, near-miss incidents, potential injuries, no-harm incidents, and sentinel events. This study examines the impact of SBAR-based nurse handover on nursing service quality at Manimeri Health Center, Teluk Bintuni Regency, West Papua. Using a qualitative method with an exploratory phenomenological approach, the study involves seven participants. Data is analyzed using the Collaizi method, which offers clear, detailed steps. Findings reveal that SBAR-based nurse handover implementation in nursing services is suboptimal. Limited nurse understanding hinders the improvement and optimization of SBAR handover communication. Despite these challenges, there has been a notable change in the rate of adverse events following the research.

Abstract

Post–sectio caesarea mothers often experience significant postoperative pain that interferes with mobility, breastfeeding initiation, and overall recovery. Pharmacological pain management such as analgesics provides rapid relief but may cause side effects when used long term. Therefore, non-pharmacological interventions are needed to complement pharmacological approaches safely. This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of deep-breathing relaxation techniques combined with lemon aromatherapy in reducing postoperative pain among post–sectio caesarea mothers at RSUD dr. Adhyatma, MPH, Central Java Province. This descriptive case study involved two respondents selected through purposive sampling based on inclusion and exclusion criteria. Data were collected using observation sheets, nursing documentation, interviews, and direct observation, while pain intensity was measured using the Numerical Rating Scale (NRS) before and after the intervention. The results showed a significant decrease in pain intensity after two consecutive days of intervention. In Patient 1, the pain scale decreased from 5 to 4 on the first day and from 4 to 2 on the second day, while in Patient 2, it decreased from 6 to 5 and from 4 to 3, respectively. Both patients reported improved comfort, relaxation, and self-control in managing postoperative pain. These findings indicate that deep-breathing relaxation combined with lemon aromatherapy is an effective, simple, and safe non-pharmacological nursing intervention to complement pharmacological pain management and enhance postoperative recovery among post–sectio caesarea patients.
