Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of working period and the level of anxiety of nurses on patient safety during the Covid-19 pandemic with the emotional intelligence of nurses as a mediating variable at RSUP DR Sitanala. The research methodology uses a quantitative approach and the analytical method used is the three box method and Path Analysis. Sampling technique using a total sampling of 190 respondents. The results of the study showed: the nurse's tenure has an influence on the emotional intelligence of nurses; nurses' anxiety level has an influence on nurses' emotional intelligence; nurses' tenure has an influence on patient safety; nurses' anxiety level has an influence on patient safety; nurses' emotional intelligence has an influence on patient safety; emotional intelligence variable is not a mediating variable between tenure and patient safety; emotional intelligence variable is not a mediating variable between the level of anxiety and patient safety. The findings of this study are that emotional intelligence is not a mediating variable between tenure and patient safety and emotional intelligence is not a mediating variable between anxiety levels and patient safety. Variable working period and level of anxiety have a significant effect on patient safety. The managerial implication of this research is an increase in religious activities to form emotional bonds in nurses so that they behave calmly and patiently, increase insight by strengthening training programs and refreshment of knowledge so that the application of patient safety goals can be handled properly and sustainably.

Abstract

Abstract – Compliance in filling out medical records critical as it has significant impact on frequently arising problems, such as incomplete filling and less specific doctors' writing on the diagnosis. This situation will impact hospital internally and externally since data processing results are the basis for hospital reports. This study aims to analyze how motivation and attitudes influence compliance levels of doctors in filling out medical resumes, which are moderated by knowledge at Ananda Hospital, Bekasi. This research was a causality research design with one short study time dimension using comparative quantitative analytical survey. A purposive sampling technique was used, and determined that the sample size was fifty people. Based on the analysis result, there were values of R2 and R3 in the linear regression analysis, motivation for compliance was 12.9%, and attitudes for compliance was 13.5%. In comparison, after testing the equation with multiple regression, the value of R1 rose to 18.2%. Therefore, good knowledge will strengthen the relationship between motivation and attitudes toward doctor's compliance in filling out a medical resume.

Abstract

With work motivation as an auxiliary variable, this study seeks to ascertain the impact of leadership style and organizational culture on the performance of specialist doctors. This study is a cross sectional study with 65 specialist doctors as respondents. Collecting data for the four variables using a linkert scale of 1-5 points and as a test tool descriptive statistical analysis is used with a three box method approach which is divided into three scale ranges, namely H (High), M (Medium), and L (Low). The results of the analysis of sub-structure 1 and the probability value simultaneously and partially indicating that the leadership style, organizational culture, and work motivation simultaneously and partially have a positive and substantial impact on performance. Sub structure 2 and the comparison of probability values simultaneously and partially shows that simultaneously and partially leadership style and organizational culture have an effect positive and significant effect on work motivation. The equation of path of total influence shows that job motivation influences leadership style and organizational culture in a way that enhances the performance of specialist doctors.

Abstract

Since Covid-19 has been declared as pandemic, many sectors are affected, including higher education. Accordingly, the good management commitment to handle the pandemic effect in an internal of an organization or higher education institutions is needed, especially to mitigate fatality risk, as they provide service for global sectors. This research is expected to provide information on right strategy and action for Higher Education Institution management to apply, and to provide positive managerial implication on organization management. The purpose of this research is to find out to what extent Active Commitment, Passive Commitment, Employee Awareness and OHS Compliance in Higher Education Institution. This is a survey research by conducting questionnaire with one-shot study. The data was obtained from 200 respondents, the employees of Higher Education Institution in Tangerang, Banten on Januari to April 2021. The analysis method in this research was using SEM with LISREL. The research shows several results: a) high Active Commitment would increase Employee Awareness on OHS; b) low Passive Commitment management would increase Employee Awareness on OHS; c) high Employee Awareness affects OHS Compliance; d) high Passive Commitment management affects Compliance on OHS.

Abstract

Kurangnya kompetensi manajerial di rumah sakit merupakan masalah global yang berdampak negatif pada pencapaian program, kualitas pelayanan, dan keselamatan pasien. Manajer lini tengah di rumah sakit membutuhkan kompetensi yang mumpuni sebagai mediator manajemen papan atas dan karyawan dalam menjalankan program untuk mencapai tujuan rumah sakit. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan instrumen asesmen kompetensi manajerial, baik aspek kompetensi yang dinilai dan metode pengukuran yang digunakan sehingga dapat mengukur kompetensi manajerial secara objektif bagi manajer lini tengah rumah sakit. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode gabungan kualitatif dan kuantitatif yang terbagi atas lima tahapan, yaitu kajian pustaka, diskusi berkelompok dengan manajer lini tengah rumah sakit, diskusi berkelompok dengan tenaga ahli perumahsakitan, uji validasi dengan menggunakan metode Content Validity Index (CVI) dan multirater Kappa, dan uji validasi serta reliabilitas melalui survei kuesioner atas manajer lini tengah rumah sakit. Penelitian ini menghasilkan model instrumen asesmen yang mengukur tujuh dimensi kompetensi manajerial inti, 36 sub-kompetensi, dan 112 item penilaian terkait kompetensi, dengan dua metode pengukuran berjenjang, self-assessment dan pengukuran konfirmatif oleh atasan langsung manajer lini tengah rumah sakit. Instrumen asesmen ini penting dalam memberikan gambaran kompetensi manajerial manajer lini tengah rumah sakit bagi praktisi manajemen sumber daya manusia dan sektor pendidikan manajemen.

Abstract

Since the outbreak of the corona virus-19 has made it difficult for all health workers and even lack of rest, causing many health workers to be vulnerable and easily experience stress at work. The purpose of this study was to assess the effect of workload, availability of PPE facilities and organizational support on the work stress of health workers who treat COVID-19 patients at our family hospital. This research was conducted from February 2021 to June 2021. The type of research carried out was explanatory research with quantitative methods. This research was conducted at the Kita Family Hospital with a total of 172 respondents. From the research conducted, it was found that there was an effect of workload, availability of PPE facilities, organizational support, and division of labor on the work stress of health workers who partially handle Covid-19, so it can be concluded that an even distribution of tasks and in accordance with competence will reduce stress. the work of health workers who handle Covid-19 during the pandemic by ensuring the availability of appropriate and sufficient PPE, providing good support, appreciating the efforts and work of health workers, paying attention to the welfare of health workers.

Abstract

The performance of nurses is an important aspect in hospitals because it is an indicator of the quality of health services. Nurses as human resources in carrying out health services in hospitals are an important resource and are needed to achieve optimal performance. Improving the performance of nurses will increase the effectiveness and productivity of the hospital. Therefore, to achieve good performance, leadership and communication styles are also needed. The purpose of this study was to determine the leadership style and communication with the control system as an effort to assess the performance of nurses. This research is a cross-sectional research design. Data collection was carried out at the Inpatient Unit of RS X Tangerang in June-July 2020 with a total sample of 77 people as research samples. The results there was no influence between the leadership style on the nurse's performance; the leadership style on the control system; communication on the nurse's performance; between the leadership style and communication on the nurse's performance with the system control as mediation. However, there was an influence between communication on the control system and the control system on the nurse's performance.

Abstract

In the current novel coronavirus (nCoV-19) pandemic, it has had a very significant impact, namely a big shift in the world order of life, especially in countries that have recorded nCoV-19 cases and those countries concentrate, focus on in tackling it. Port Medical Center Hospital, in terms of staffing which often provides rotation/promotion/demotion to employees in lower/middle/upper leadership levels. The purpose of this study both simultaneously and partially is to analyze the effect of leadership style, organizational culture and work discipline together on employee satisfaction at the Port Medical Center Hospital. The research method used is quantitative research with causality explanation research. The sampling technique used a saturated sample, so the sample in this study were all employees who worked at the Port Medical Center Hospital as many as 70 nurses(zusters-bruders), midwives and supporting medical proffessionals. The data analysis method used in this study is multiple regression analysis with the help of the SPSS version 24 program. The results of this study indicate that simultaneously and partially leadership style (0,506), organizational culture (0,368) and work discipline (0,215) jointly affect job satisfaction of employees at the Port Medical Center Hospital. Management Implication for Port Medical Center Hospital from Analytic findings is to attentending the implementation of (0 zero tolerance, rewards & punishments system in var.ind1 Leadership), reassured of (service excellence, continuous improvement, Monitoring & Evaluation system in var.ind2 Organization Culture), alignment to (Creative Work & Time value in var.ind3 Disciplin) all employees. Lastly the affects of (a good Job Role in var Job Satisfaction Level).

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of empowering leadership style on employee job satisfaction mediated by psychological capital, psychological well-being, and employee work engagement in government organizations. The study draws on survey data with 129 respondents from employees in Indonesia government agency. Confirmatory factor analysis was conducted to examine the convergent validity of the construct measures. Partial least square (PLS) Algorithm was used to estimate the fit of the hypothesized model to the data. The research found that empowering leadership has a significant effect on the psychological capital, work engagement, and psychological well-being of employees. The role of employee psychology capital has a positive influence on the relationship between empowering leadership styles with psychological well-being and employee work engagement. The results of this study also found that the role of employee psychological capital mediation did not significantly influence the relationship between empowering leadership style and employee job satisfaction, but the role mediation of psychological well-being and work engagement became a good mediating variable on the relationship between empowering leadership style and job satisfaction. The results of this research are expected to be useful academically and managerially for government organizations in Indonesia.
