Abstract

Finding new animals can sometimes be something new for humans. If both tame or wild animal is found, it usually search for information about the animal would do. However, knowledge of these animals still tend to be minimal. Questions arise about knowledge of these animal. However, this knowledge comes after the animal attacked. Therefore, the solution provided is an application that generates information that is always new with image detection technology. Thus, with just a photograph, information can be obtained easily and quickly. Application can be run on Android Jellybean operating system API 17 and so on.

Abstract

than SQL is the general idea of this Hadoop implementation. The advancement of technology generates growing amount of data and demands a new method to process the big data. The performance of this hadoop implementation was also compared with that of SQL to prove hadoop’s novelty in processing big data. Moreover different hadoop’s implementations – such as various number of nodes, use of a combiner, and use of different block sizes – were evaluated.Hadoop was implemented for five queries (or problems) in processing the library circulation data. Those five problems are finding the numbers of borrowing transactions categorized by the audio-video types, collection types, titles, locations, and users’ departments.Some conclusions can be drawn based on the hadoop mapreduce implementation. Hadoop’s performance tops SQL’s when large data are being processed. The more the number of computer nodes, the faster the mapreduce application is to complete its execution. Use of a combiner can speed up the application’s execution. The arrangement with full data blocks can give better execution time than that with non-full data blocks does. In this hadoop implementation, the execution time using the block size of 128 MB is smaller than that of 28 MB and 512 MB.

Abstract

E-commerce sites in Indonesia offers many products with different prices. Consumers will find it hard to do a comparison of products by opening many existing e-commerce web. Therefore, a website portal is created for consumers to find and do a comparison of product from any existing e-commerce.The research focused on the feature for comparison between e-commerce products. Product comparison feature requires the server can retrieve product data from any e-commerce site and GSMArena. Then, process followed by parsing and processing on any e-commerce product data which has been established to be adapted to the product GSMArena.Based on the research, the time to get data e-commerce products and GSMArena products relies on the server's bandwidth and response time provided by each site. Products on each e-commerce have different product name from GSMArena, so the calculations is needed for the suitability of the product name between e-commerce and GSMArena.

Abstract

Tanaman merupakan dekorasi yang umum dipakai untuk segala jenis tempat. Dari tempat komersil seperti hotel, restoran, butik pakaian, hingga ke tempat non-komersil yaitu rumah tempat tinggal. Kebutuhan akan tanaman tidak akan berkesudahan dan bukan sebuah tren yang akan hilang. Maka dari itu, perawatan akan tanaman juga akan selalu dibutuhkan untuk konsumen dan produsen tanaman. Perawatan tanaman bisa menjadi hal yang merepotkan, terutama tanaman anggrek. Perawatan tanaman yang sangat umum sampai saat ini adalah mengandalkan sumber daya manusia. Dalam penelitian lain, ada yang sudah menggunakan Arduino akan tetapi tidak dapat dikontrol secara mobile.Tanaman yang dipilih untuk penelitian ini adalah tanaman anggrek, karena tanaman anggrek merupakan tanaman yang memiliki harga relatif mahal. Selain itu perawatannya relatif lebih susah dari tanaman lainnya. Metode yang akan digunakan adalah observasi langsung ke petani anggrek dan eksperimen pribadi, baik untuk pertumbuhan anggrek, maupun pengujian microcontroller.Dengan berbagai bidang kehidupan yang dimudahkan dengan adanya teknologi. Kemudahan akses dari teknologi juga memicu penggunaan internet yang semakin meningkat. Penggunaan smartphone juga semakin meningkat di masyarakat. Itu menandakan bahwa sebuah sistem perawatan tanaman otomatis sangat mungkin dilakukan dengan biaya rendah. Sistem penyiraman tanaman menggunakan Arduino yang terhubung dengan internet sebagai perantaranya. Selanjutnya, Arduino akan terhubung dengan server Blynk. Terhubungnya Arduino ke server Blynk dapat menghubungkan Arduino dengan perangkat mobile. Sehingga sangat memungkinkan untuk mengontrol dan memonitor tanaman menggunakan smartphone dan membantu pertumbuhan anggrek.

Abstract

Internet is one of the fastest growing Information Technology. There is a lot of information which can easily be obtained through the Internet. Computer network system is needed for a person to use or access it. Along with the increasing number of Internet users, Petra Christian University has been doing various ways in using the internet well, such as increasing bandwidth and also replacing the Internet cable lines with fiber cable. However, there are still some problems like delayed access, etc.Therefore, this manuscript describes the development of bandwidth usage visualization to help Petra Christian University, particularly its network division, to obtain information about Internet bandwidth usage. The application which is used for generating the bandwidth usage visualization is TSTAT. TSAT is a tool for analyzing the traffic passing through the network layer and it can only be used in a UNIX-based operating system such as LINUX, OS X, and other variants. Collected traffic data will be analyzed using TSTAT and the results (in RRD format) are stored in mysql database. Storing to database is necessary since the RRD storage capacity is so limited (fixed) that, when the capacity is full, the earliest data will be overwritten. Afterward, data from database will be visualized by using RDDtools, and the display result in the form of graph will be presented on the website by using PHP language. Based on 15-minute traffic data capture, 95,8% of the traffic is TCP protocol, while 4,2% is UDP.

Abstract

Applications commonly used to solve the equations of dynamic analysis produce output that is less accurate because the use of mass implementation is less precise. Most of the applications are commercial and require the installation process before they can be used. The authors developed an application that uses website as the user interface, so that it can be accessed easily and does not require any installation process. The Website was created by using a more precise mass implementation so that the output becomes more accurate with simulated deformation and structure deflection.The Authors designed the website so that a user can have an account to make a project that is public or private, and an admin can manage the member data. Input process data are entered into tables with tabs such as node, properties, elements, joint mass, joint loads, ground acceleration, process so that the user can perform data input easily. Dynamic analysis calculation is performed by processing the input data using the Newmark method involving the creation of stiffness, mass, damping matrices the initialization of displacement, velocity, and acceleration the calculation of integration constants, the creation of element stiffness matrix, the calculation of displacement with time dependent, the calculation of displacement, velocity and acceleration.This dynamic analysis website generates outputs like all mentioned matrices in each element,  structure stiffness matrix, structure mass matrix, and displacement vector that conform with the exact solution. Results of displacement vector are  used to display the simulation of deformation and structure deflection at each time interval so the the structurak changes are observable from the beginning to the end.

Abstract

Teaching and learning process are growing over time and technology behind it are growing too so that the process of learning with online media or often referred to as e-learning where provided media that can be accessed via the internet. This phenomenon is interesting to examine because some e-learning systems that exist today are not yet fully secure, in the sense that it is still easy to be disseminated without any copyright and not used wisely. The purpose of this research is to produce an application that can be used as a media for e-learning of streaming audio and video without storing the file on local cache device so that the file residing in e-learning media cannot be disseminated and be used wisely. As a research methodology using deductive qualitative method, data collective process is done by literature study, interview, and observation. After the data collected, will result e-learning software based on website and mobile that can be used to stream media files without downloading it. The result of this test and analyze shown that streaming with RTSP protocol is can be used into e-learning software with a limited users.

Abstract

The advancement in the field of science and technology brings forth new problems and challenges. One such problem is the need to simulate properties of objects or situations due to the real-world conditions being either costly or impossible to achieve. Interactive cloth simulation is one of the fields which requires a simulation to be run in real-time. A realistic simulation requires a heavy computational workload, and as such will hinder the purpose of running the simulation in real-time. Optimization using pure algorithm and math are likely to find balance between accuracy and speed. This research introduces an optimization using parallel computing on GPU to speed up the simulation without reducing the accuracy. The simulation is based on continuum mechanics due to its ability to display realistic physical properties of cloth. The model dynamics is discretized using FEM, then a corotational formulation is used to compute the elasticity property of cloth. This research uses CUDA platform developed by Nvidia to deliver the parallelization. The testing results shows that there are little but acceptable accuracy differences on the parallel version of the simulation. The speedup happens when the structure of a function is ideal for GPU parallelism. A full GPU parallelism causes massive overheads in functions that are not or at least directly parallel compatible. Choosing functions that are compatible or modifying ones to fit the ideal parallel condition will make significant speedup.

Abstract

Indonesia is the largest archipelago country in the world. Every island in Indonesia has a variety of different biological. Variety of biological diversity in Indonesia is also one of the largest in the world. Various types of flora and fauna which adorn every island in Indonesia into a separate icon for each island. One of the existing biodiversity in Indonesia is the type of snake. Indonesia has approximately 20% of the snakes scattered in every island. Such varieties include size, color, and the level of spreading in Indonesia. For all sorts of information about the snakes that exist today is still fairly quite minimal. Books that discuss the types of snakes are still relatively minimal. As  the smartphone now has become part of every society, the book was gradually being abandoned. Therefore, the objective of this research is to create an application that can help provide information about snakes in Indonesia with more ease.In this research, the creation of applications of learning about snakes in Indonesia based on Android, which is one smartphone operating system that is used in many circles. This app has a feature that can help users, especially information about snakes, handling and handle snake bites, as well as a variety of other additional information.Based on the results of the implementation and testing is done, the application can provide information about snakes accompanied by photographs and spreading displayed with a map, a brief description and video handling snake bites and how to handle, question and answer forum for sharing information, as well as the provision of other additional information. With this application users can use the information to increase knowledge.

Abstract

XYZ High School is a private high schools that was founded in 1959 and has more than 500 students. On daily basis, XYZ high school conducts the recording and sharing of data manually. Since the recording is done manually, XYZ High School’s paper usage is considerably high and often it finds difficulties in finding data because they are stored in the non digital-archive . This thesis developed web and mobile devices - based application acting as a service system that provides information related to students and teachers .This service system has features to display information about the academic data such as the student’s score and the teaching materials that can be downloaded by the students, and the non-academic data such as personal information of students, personal information of teachers, class schedule, announcements, and information about violations committed by students.The test results show that the system can help the student to search the information and operate well in a variety browsers and Android devices
