Abstract

Globally, nearly 85% of malaria cases occur in nineteen Indian sub-Saharan African countries.Tropical and subtropical countries are endemic areas for this disease because they have a rainy season that provides a high availability of clean water, where vector mosquitoes can lay eggs and breed.. KForest activities such as agriculture, logging and gold mining are considered high risk occupations for exposure to malaria, this is because forest workers, especially miners and loggers, often spend weeks to months at work..This article uses a literature review approach with a cross-sectional study design. Articles are searched through electronic databases systematically onScience Direct, Malaria Journal, and PubMedpublished in the last 10 years and taken between the years (2013-2022) using the keywords (risk factorAND malaria AND “mine workers). Based on the results of data extraction from search engines of the Science Direct, Malaria Journal, and PubMed methods, there are 15 journals selected based on inclusion criteria. FactorsThe risk of malaria in mining area communities is age, gender, education, knowledge, behavior, attitudes, and environmental conditions. This study serves as a baseline for assessing the impacts of mining activities in relation to future vector control interventions.Malaria elimination efforts can be accelerated by targeting improvements in treatment practices, diagnosis, and reporting to private pharmacies, private clinics, and grocery stores. Programs should also seek to increase awareness and understanding of malaria among at-risk populations, in particular the importance of using preventive measures and following a comprehensive antimalarial treatment program.

Abstract

The majority of the population in Meranjat II Village, Ogan Ilir Regency, has a home industry of Kemplang Tunu. Kemplang tunu is snack from the South Sumatera region. Kemplang tunu is made from fish, tapioca flour, and other seasonings. Based on the results of initial observations, it is known that there are still kemplang workers who have awkward work postures, therefore to avoid the occurrence of work-related diseases or work accidents it is necessary to carry out an ergonomic risk assessment for kemplang tunu workers. The purpose of this study is to analyze the level of ergonomics risk in kemplang tunu workers in Meranjat II Village, Ogan Ilir Regency. The research design in this study is descriptive observational with case study design and the total object of this research is 8 kemplang tunu workers. The object selection technique in this study used a purposive sampling technique. The risk analysis method used is the Rapid Entire Body Assessment. The results of calculating the level of ergonomics risk using the REBA method on 4 respondents working in the dough-making section, 3 of 4 respondents get a score of 8-10 so that they are at High Risk and 1 respondent gets a score of 4-7 so that they are at the Medium Risk. And of the 4 respondents working in the kemplang roasting section, 3 of 4 respondents get a score of 8-10 so they are at the High Risk and 1 respondent gets a score of 4-7 so they are at Medium Risk.

Abstract

Background: Exclusive breastfeeding in Indonesia has yet to meet the 80% target set by WHO and the Ministry of Health. Coverage improved from 52% in 2017 to 66.1% in 2020 and reached 70.7% in 2022, but overall progress remains modest. Although national policies mandate exclusive breastfeeding, implementation is hampered by shortages of trained counselors, limited facilities, and cultural preferences for early formula feeding. Compared with neighboring countries, Indonesia is in the middle range, performing better than some but still behind regional leaders. To accelerate progress, stronger human resources, consistent workplace support, and greater community engagement are required to achieve national goals and contribute to global child health targets. Method: This study applied a literature review approach using the Google Scholar database. The initial search identified 3,080 articles, and after screening, only five studies (2020–2024, Indonesian language, full text, involving breastfeeding mothers) met the inclusion criteria. The selection stages were described with a PRISMA diagram. Results: Analysis showed that the most frequently reported barrier was the shortage of breastfeeding counselors, appearing in four of the five studies. Additional challenges included limited facilities, cultural habits such as early use of formula, and insufficient support from families and workplaces. Conclusion: The study concludes that limited breastfeeding counselors and weak family and workplace support are the main barriers, requiring stronger human resources and cross-sectoral collaboration.
