Abstract

This research aims: (1) to identify the income difference between Salak Pondoh and Salak Nglumut farmers; and (2) to analyze the external (opportunity and threat) and internal factor (weakness and strength) for developing Salak Nglumut in Magelang district. The sample was chosen by purposive sampling, i.e. Srumbung and Salam sub district. The data was collected by interviewing 60 respondents; that were policy makers in Magelang district, Salak Nglumut farmers, Salak Pondoh farmers, and salak consumers. The t-test shows that the income of Salak Pondoh farmers is lower than the income of Salak Nglumut farmers. The result of SWOT analysis is located in quadrant 1. This means that Salak Nglumut is a profitable farm as it has higher opportunity and strength. In this condition, Salak Nglumut farmers should apply aggressive Growth Oriented Strategy. The recommended growth strategy in developing Salak Nglumut is using it as appropriate location for agro-tourism, marketing salak in provincialroads, developing special market for salak which close to tourism. objects, increasing funding sources for salak farmers, developing infrastructure toSalak Nglumut agro-tourism location, or also developing salak homeindustry that more longer resistant and practically.

Abstract

The objective of this research is to study the farmscale efficiency of oil palm smallholders. In this context it will also be studied the change in shifting cultivation activity and distribution of oil palm farmer income. The research was done in East Kalimantan with samples of 350 farmers by "Stratified Random Sampling" technique. The oil palm development in the East Kalimantan has a high potential to improve its business scale efficiency. In case there will be opportunities to reduce the cost to increase the production with additional input of fertilizer. Another opportunity is expanding farm size of ≥ 2 hectares will give better income rather than <2 hectares. In the same level of the employing input, the oil palm farm 012 hectares will produce higher Fresh Bunches with lower input. The oil-palm farming in the East Kalimantan is indicated by a reversel relationship between size and efficiency. The analyze of results signify that the larger farm have lower productivity. Using the same input or factor of production, however, the oil-palm farm agribusiness with ≥ 2 hectares width will gain higher benefit with lowercost. The production cost 0/the oil-palm operation of the small holders in the East Kalimantan has not gain the level of the technical efficiency as well as the cost efficiency (allocative efficiency). The oil-palm business scale of the small holders indicates that the scale economy in decreasing return to scale. The development of the oil-palm farming of small holders positively affects to reduce the pressure of population on the forest land resource in the shifting cultivatin of 81.46 percent. The income distribution in low in equality. The a Gini Index of 0.196 ( the evently distributed income). It is consistent with the income distribution analysis result based on the land farm size ownership in percentile The economies of scale of the oil-palm small holders will be achieved by the land size of ≥2 hectares. In related the family labors available, the small holders of the East Kalimantan are enable to operate the oil palm plantation of 5.7 hectares per farmer family.

Abstract

Study of synthesis and effectiveness of membrane catalyst of cellulose acetate/nata de coco-TiO2 nano (CA/NDC-TiO2 nano) in photodegradation of methylene blue in batch system has been investigated. TiO2nanoparticles were synthesized by hydrothermal method followed by calcination at 450oC. Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) images indicate nano TiO2 has been successfully synthesized with average particle diameter as 88,63±4,37 nm.  X-ray diffraction pattern (XRD) of nano TiO2  shows some characteristic peaks of anatase TiO2 were still existed. Membrane photocatalyst of CA/NDC- nano TiO2 was prepared via phase inversion method by mixing TiO2 nanoparticles with CA casting solution. Thermogravimetric analysis shows three decomposition steps of CA/NDC-nano membrane as well as CA/NDC membrane. Photodegradation of methylene blue was conducted with nano-TiO2  particles and CA/NDC-TiO2 membrane for 50 minutes in batch system. The absorbance changes were measured by spectrophotometer at wavelength of 664.6 nm. The result shows the photodegradation rections tended to follow second order reaction. According to the rate constant value, k, the photocatalytic effectivity using CA-NDC/nano TiO2 membrane and nano TiO2photocatalysts in metilen blue photodegradation, statistically were not significantly different.

Abstract

Marketing Performance PT. Perkebunan Nusantara III (Persero) consist the analysis of (1) the ability of marketing with Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) and Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFAs), (2) Audit marketing strategy based Strategic Marketing Plus 2000, and (3) Marketing achievement in statistic different test methods. The analysis result of marketing capabilities, remaining 12 indicators and 4 marketing capabilities of CPO commodity those are Product Development, Selling, Marketing Planning, and Marketing Implementation. For the Rubber commodity remaining 9 indicators and 3 marketing capabilities, namely Selling, Marketing Planning, and Marketing Implementation. On CPO commodity capability of Selling and Marketing Implementation has a highest positive correlations value. Capability of Product Development and Marketing Implementation has a lowest positive correlations value. For Rubber commodity a highest positive correlations are capability of Selling and Marketing Implementation. Marketing Planning and Marketing Implementation has a lowest positive correlations value. With the method of Strategic Marketing Plus 2000 is known that the marketing strategies of PT. Perkebunan Nusantara III is relatively lagging behind, which means it does not have a competitiveness. The analysis conducted on the marketing achievement CPO and Rubber based on quantum and value of sales can be achieved according to plan except sales quantum of Rubber.
