Abstract

Dalam memberikan Pendidikan kepada anak orang tua selalu melakukan komunikasi dengan anak, baik secara verbal maupun non-verbal. Komunikasi verbal merupakan komunikasi yang diucapkan secara lisan dan tulisan, sedangkan komunikasi non-verbal merupakan komunikasi yang dilakukan baik secara ekspresi, gestur sampai penempatan ruang dan waktu yang tepat. Pendidikan seks merupakan pendidikan dasar yang harus diberikan orang tua kepada anak yang bertujuan untuk membentuk konsep diri. Adanya media eksternal yang dapat mempengaruhi kepribadiannya menjadikan peran orang tua sangat dianjurkan dalam mendampingi tumbuh kembang anak pada usia ini. Kurangnya pengetahuan seks oleh orang tua membuat ibu ragu bahkan enggan untuk memberikan pendidikan seks kepada anak. Anak usia remaja yaitu berkisar di antara usia 10-19 tahun, pada usia ini anak memerlukan metode komunikasi yang dapat diterima pemikirannya agar dapat dimengerti secara jelas. Penelitian ini meneliti bagaimana pola komunikasi orang tua dengan menggunakan lambang verbal dan non-verbal dalam memberikan pendidikan seks kepada anak remaja dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif, dimana peneliti melakukan pengumpulan data dengan cara observasi dan wawancara dengan narasumber. Hasil dari penelitian ini ditemukan bahwa ibu lebih banyak menggunakan komunikasi verbal seperti bercerita, memberikan nasihat dan teguran secara langsung kepada anak, melarang pacaran atau menjalin hubungan dengan lawan jenis. Adapun komunikasi non-verbal sangat berperan penting dalam komunikasi pendidikan seks dimana anak menjadi lebih mengetahui isi pesan saat komunikasi sedang berlangsung dan komunikasi menjadi lebih efektif dengan menggunakan ruang dan waktu yang tepat. Seperti di kamar dan ruang tengah, serta memperhatikan mood anak.Kata Kunci: Pola Komunikasi, Komunikasi Verbal, Komunikasi Non-verbal, Pendidikan Sex

Abstract

This present study reports on how teacher gives feedback on oral presentation in an EFL classroom. Observation sheet deployed feedback on oral presentation given by teacher in classroom. Data analysis discovered that the teacher concerned on giving comments in pronunciation, paraphrasing, and power point design. In addition, the analysis showed that students had good encouragement in doing oral presentation.

Abstract

In this era of the Covid-19 pandemic, online-based learning is the best solution for the learning process in education. This study aims to describe students' perceptions of online learning at the junior high school level. This research uses descriptive qualitative research method. The population in this study were 18 junior high school students and a sample of 12 students was obtained from students who filled out a questionnaire randomly. The 12 students consisted of 9 female students and 3 male students. The sample was given a perception questionnaire made on Google Form. Data were analyzed descriptively from questionnaires, distribution tables and presented data in the form of diagrams. The results showed that 81% of students were able to access online learning well, 84% of students were able to learn independently in online learning, 71% of students thought that online learning was effective, and 54% of students thought that communication between teachers and students went well in online learning. Students' perceptions of online-based learning in Junior High Schools get positive response results. Keywords:  Student Perception, Online-Based Learning, Junior High School

Abstract

This study entitled "EFL Students’ responses towards the use of English Trend songs in listening lesson". This study aims to determine student responses in learning listening through songs. This research is motivated by the phenomenon of listening to trending English songs among teenagers which has a big impact on learning English, especially in listening lessons. This study was conducted to see if listening to English songs could help them in listening lessons. In this study, researchers used qualitative research to find data with a case study model. 16 participants of this research are in the same university with different majors. Data were collected through a questionnaire. The results show that the use of songs in the listening class gets a positive response. They felt it introduced a unique learning environment, one that was more relaxed and pleasurable. Abstract

Students' responses to the implementation of task-based language teaching in the writing learning process and the implementation of task-based language teaching in the writing of descriptive text are the focus of this study. The research design used in this study is the case study. The participants that participated in the study were in the tenth grade of a vocational high school. There were three male and two female participants in this study. In addition, research utilizes observation, interviews, and documentation to gather data for the studies. There are three diplomas in the framework for task-based learning such as pre-task, task cycle, and language focus. As shown in the findings of this study, task-based language teaching has an influence on students' learning, particularly in regards to writing descriptive text. Students become active and task-based language teaching also influences students to involve a high level of creativity, students are required to think critically and be responsive. However, Students find it difficult with the tasks that have been assigned because it believes writing to be difficult and there are aspects of writing that weren't well understood.

Abstract

Culture Shock dalam Komunikasi Lintas Budaya Mahasiswa Etnis Minangkabau Universitas Singaperbangsa Karawang (Analisis Deskriptif Mengenai Culture Shock dalam Komunikasi Lintas Budaya pada komunitas Ikatan Mahasiswa Etnis Minangkabau Universitas Singaperbangsa Karawang), Program Studi Ilmu Komunikasi, Fakultas Ilmu Sosial dan Ilmu Politik Universitas Singaperbangsa Karawang. Penelitian ini berawal dari ketertarikan peneliti untung mengangkat culture shock dalam komunikasi lintas budaya yang dialami mahasiswa etnis Minangkabau pada komunitas Ikatan Mahasiswa Minangkabau Universitas Singaperbangsa Karawang yang menuntut ilmu di Universitas Singaperbangsa Karawang. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tahapan culture shock yang dihadapi mahasiswa etnis Minangkabau pada komunitas Ikatan Mahasiswa Minangkabau Universitas Singaperbangsa Karawang sertaapa saja hambatan yang dialami dalam komunikasi lintas budaya. Hasil dari penelitian menunjukan tahapan culture shock yang dihadapi mahasiswa etnis Minangkabau pada komunitas Ikatan Mahasiswa Minangkabau Universitas Singaperbangsa Karawang serta apa saja hambatan yang dialami dalam komunikasi lintas budaya.Kata Kunci: Culture Shock, Hambatan Komunikasi Lintas Budaya, Etnis Minangkabau

Abstract

IIn the dynamics of general elections, the discussion of women legislative candidates has always been an interesting topic because the proportion of 30% of women candidates’ minimum requirement is always difficult to fulfill by any political party. The difficulty of women legislative candidates penetrating parliamentary seats is a problem that must be resolved. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct qualitative research to formulate how the communication patterns carried out by women politicians in the Karawang Regency, who have succeeded in penetrating parliamentary seats through case study techniques during the research. The communication pattern that marks the women’s success in election contestation can be a guide or reference when other women party politicians enter politics and advance to become legislature members. This research is limited to women members of the legislature who come from the Golkar Party. The results showed that the success of women members of the Regional Legislative Assembly (DPRD) from the Golkar party in occupying seats in the DPRD was partly due to the communication patterns they succeeded in establishing. They build vertical, horizontal, formal, and informal communication patterns that apply more social and cultural approaches. The uniqueness is when social media is used as a tool for political campaigns today, the communication strategy developed by those women legislative candidates of the Golkar party does not take advantage of social media. This is because the targeted constituents are people in remote areas, so the communication pattern through a direct face-to-face approach is much more impactful than social media.Keywords: Women DPRD members of Karawang Regency, political communication patterns, 2019 general election ABSTRAKDalam dinamika pemilihan umum (pemilu) pembahasan mengenai calon anggota legislatif perempuan selalu menjadi topik yang menarik karena adanya proporsi 30% caleg perempuan yang selalu sulit dipenuhi oleh setiap partai politik. Sulitnya calon anggota legislatif perempuan menembus kursi parlemen merupakan masalah yang harus dicarikan solusinya. Dengan demikian, perlu dilakukan penelitian dengan menggunakan metode kualitatif untuk merumuskan bagaimana pola komunikasi yang telah dilakukan oleh para politisi perempuan di Kabupaten Karawang yang telah berhasil menembus kursi parlemen dengan studi kasus sebagai teknik penelitian. Pola komunikasi yang menandai keberhasilan kaum perempuan dalam kontestasi pemilu ini dapat menjadi pedoman ataupun acuan ketika pihak lain yang juga perempuan akan terjun ke dunia politik dan akan maju menjadi anggota legislatif. Penelitian ini dibatasi hanya pada anggota legislatif perempuan yang berasal dari Partai Golkar. Hasil penelitian  menunjukkan bahwa keberhasilan para anggota DPRD perempuan dari Partai Golkar dalam menduduki kursi di DPRD salah satunya disebabkan oleh pola komunikasi yang berhasil mereka bangun. Adapun pola komunikasi yang mereka bangun tersebut adalah pola komunikasi vertikal, horizontal, formal, informal yang lebih cenderung menerapkan pendekatan sosial dan budaya. Saat media sosial dijadikan alat kampanye politik dewasa ini, strategi komunikasi yang dibangun para calon anggota legislatif perempuan di Kabupaten Karawang yang berasal dari Partai Golkar ini tidak memanfaatkan media sosial. Hal ini disebabkan konstituen yang menjadi sasarannya adalah masyarakat pelosok yang belum memiliki pemahaman awam terhadap teknologi sehingga pola komunikasi melalui tatap mula langsung jauh lebih berdampak dibandingkan dengan penggunaan media sosial.Kata Kunci: Anggota DPRD perempuan Kabupaten Karawang, pola komunikasi politik, Pemilu 2019

Abstract

A teacher’s teaching style is the way he/she conducts class instruction an the classroom environment, every teacher has their own belief, ideology, and teaching style. In the end, teaching style may affect learning motivation of the students in the classroom.  This study aimed to  investigate how the students perceive their EFL teacher's teaching style and how the style affects students' motivation in English learning. The study was a qualitative study, the type of qualitative study used was a case study. The data collected from questionnaire that  distributed to 13 students of an islamic senior high school, the interview data from 5 sudents used to verify the data. The results indicated that the students’ EFL teacher used facilitator style, and the students’ perceived that it was good. Most of the students said that the way their EFL teacher teaching affected their learning motivation. The researcher conclude that a teacher teaching style could motivate or demotivate students’ learning motivation. Through this study, the reseacher suggested to all EFL teachers in the future to pay more attention to their teaching styles, in order to boost their students motivation in learning and the learning objectives will be attained well. Keywords:  Case Study, Learning Motivation, Students’ Perception, Teaching Style

Abstract

Penelitian ini membahas mengenai Peran Kepala Desa Dalam Pengelolaan Alokasi Dana Desa di Desa Muara Baru Kecamatan Cilamaya Wetan Kabupaten Karawang. Dalam mewujudkan masyarakat yang sejahtera, nyaman dan aman sangat diperlukan adanya persediaan Alokasi Dana Desa yang tersedia. Selama tahun 2016 ADD di Desa Muara Baru meningkat ini menunjukkan bahwa perlu adanya peningkatan di Desa baik dari infrastrukrurnya, sumber daya manusia, oleh karena itu untuk mengatur ADD yang tersedia dibutuhkan adanya peran aktif dari Kepala Desa. Peran Kepala Desa sangat dibutuhkan dalam mengatur terealisasinya program kerja dengan memanfaatkan alokasi dana yang tersedia. Namun permasalahan permasalahan terjadi mulai dari masih adanya infrastruktur jalan yang belum diperbaiki serta dana yang teralokasi hanya 50% saja tidak sampai mencapai target. Hal tersebut karena kurang aktifnya Kepala Desa dalam mengikutsertakan perangkat Desa untuk ikut koordinasi dalam menjalankan program kerja yang telah direncakan. Untuk mengukur peran Kepala Desa terdapat empat indikator yairu: Harapan tentang peran; Norma; Wujud Perilaku dalam Peran; serta Penilaian dan Sanksi. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa seluruh indikator sudah terealisasi dengan baik, namun perlu adanya evaluasi dan pengembangan rencana sehingga ADD yang tersedia dapat terealisasi dengan efektif serta program pembangunan dapat berjalan dengan baik

Abstract

This research departs from a Social Welfare problem in West Karawang District. The high poverty rate and being in the top three of the highest poverty rates in Karawang Regency raises the question of why West Karawang District, which is in the city center, has the highest poverty rate. This research uses descriptive qualitative method. Data collection techniques were carried out by observation, interviews and documentation. The data were taken from selected sources based on purposive sampling technique. This study uses the Budiani effectiveness theory, namely: program target accuracy, program socialization, program objectives, program monitoring. The results of this study indicate that there are many factors that make West Karawang Subdistrict have a high poverty rate, TKSK has been maximized and has streamlined its time and performance for West Karawang District, but there are several other factors that increase the poverty rate, namely urbanization, low education, competitiveness, population density, and availability of jobs. Karawang Regency, especially the social services and government apparatus of West Karawang District, have synergized with TKSK to alleviate social welfare problems in West Karawang District by making existing programs effective to help the community.
