Abstract

Tanah Mas is one of the areas in Sampit that the Sampit Dayak and Madurese Muslim communities inhabit. They live side by side, peacefully exchanging culture and language. This area's uniqueness needs to be explored further so that it can become a good practice for mitigating conflicts that often occur in Indonesia. This study explores the cultural values developed, the processes of exchange and cultural literacy, and the cultural literacy methods used in Tanah Mas. The research was conducted using qualitative methods with an ethnographic approach. The research was conducted for two months. The research locus was Tanah Mas Village, Baamang Sampit District. The study results show that cultural literacy is carried out in the family, community, and leaders. Parents provide examples and advice in the family to live well together and get along with anyone regardless of ethnicity. Community leaders provide examples and advice to respect each other, help each other, and cooperate reasonably with each other. Social literacy is performed by performing arts conveying messages of peace and moral teachings. In addition, the community mingles and cooperates in various activities. Information exchange is carried out through daily activities such as community interaction, traditional events such as weddings, religious events such as the Prophet's birthday or isra' mi'rāj, and artistic activities such as art performances.

Abstract

PKBM Harati merupakan salah satu lembaga pendidikan non formal di Kabupaten Kotawaringin Timur, Provinsi Kalimantan Tengah. Lembaga ini menyelenggarakan pendidikan kesetaraan baik Paket A, Paket B, dan Paket C. Masih terdapat sejumlah masalah dalam menyelenggarakan kegiatan pembelajaran. Masalah yang dihadapi warga belajar disebabkan oleh durasi waktu mereka putus sekolah cukup lama sehingga kesulitan untuk mencerna materi pelajaran dan memecahkan soal-soal latihan. Selain itu, warga belajar tidak fokus lagi pada pendidikan. Untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut maka tim pelaksana menawarkan solusi berupa penguatan literasi baru untuk meningkatkan critical thinking skills warga belajar. Kegiatan pengabdian dilakukan dengan metode pendampingan dan pemberdayaan. Kegiatan terdiri atas tiga tahapan yaitu tahap awal, tahap inti, dan tahap akhir. Materi yang diberikan berupa literasi data, literasi teknologi, dan literasi manusia dengan metode ceramah, praktik, games, dan latihan. Kegiatan ini dilakukan oleh tim lima orang mahasiswa didampingi oleh satu orang dosen pendamping. Hasil dari kegiatan pengabdian ini, warga belajar telah memiliki pemahaman tentang literasi baru dan dapat mengimplementasikannya dalam belajar.

Abstract

The main objective of this study is to identify and formulate the strengths of character and virtue, according to Ibn Miskawaih and Imam Al-Ghazali. The study was carried out with a qualitative approach with the type of literature review, by tracing both books, especially journals related to the strength of character and virtues formulated by positive psychology. The data analysis was carried out in a descriptive-reflective-introspective way with the perspective of Islamic psychology. The results of the study show that in terms of the number and composition of the strengths of character and values of virtue developed by positive psychology and the psychology of Islamic education, which in this case is represented by the thoughts of Ibn Miskawaih and Imam Al-Ghazali, are not significantly different. There is little difference between the strength of the character of positive psychology and the psychology of Islamic education. The difference is that there is a middle point or middle way in the thoughts of Ibn Miskawaih and Imam Al-Ghazali. The shari'ah commands this midpoint or middle path; the goal is to achieve an intermediate path to all the qualities and qualities of virtue; if it deviates towards one of the two extremes, then it must be corrected. These findings can provide a valuable contribution to guidance and counseling services through strengthening character and virtue in the current era of global communication.

Abstract

Pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini difokuskan pada pendampingan dan peningkatan keterampilan anggota sanggar dalam merawat, melindungi, dan mempublikasikan hasil karya mereka. Latar belakang pendampingan ini karena kurangnya pengetahuan anggota sanggar dalam mempublikasikan dan melindungi karya-karya mereka. Padahal, sanggar ini memiliki banyak karya yang dapat menjadi aset budaya lokal. Namun, sebagian masyarakat Kota Sampit tidak mengetahui hasil karya mereka karena minimnya publikasi. Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah: menyampaikan informasi dan wawasan kepada anggota Sanggar Mentaya Estetika, merawat kekayaan budaya lokal yang ada di Sanggar Mentaya Estetika, membantu program pemerintah daerah untuk merivitalisasi kekayaan budaya lokal berbasis komunitas. Metode yang digunakan untuk dalam kegiatan ini adalah community development. Materi-materi terkait pendampingan disampaikan melalui ceramah dan diskusi. Kegiatan dilakukan selama 5 bulan yang dipusatkan di Sanggar Mentaya Estetika, Tanah Mas, Sampit dan diikuti oleh 16 anggota sanggar. Hasil evaluasi kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa sebanyak 83% anggota Sanggar Mentaya Estetika telah memiliki pengetahuan dan keterampilan dalam memahami dan memiliki keterampilan untuk melindungi kekayaan intelektual yang mereka punya. Kegiatan ini juga telah menghasilkan luaran berupa laporan kemajuan, buku pedoman mitra, laporan akhir, artikel pengabdian masyarakat, dan HKI.

Abstract

Child marriage is still a serious threat to the development of generations in Indonesia. This study aims to reveal the role of the construction of religious and cultural understanding in cases of child marriage in Tanah Mas Village, East Kotawaringin Regency, Central Kalimantan. The construction of religious and cultural understanding that is not comprehensive and partial can trigger child marriage behavior. This research is important to explore the roots of religious and cultural understanding, as well as construction in the families of perpetrators of child marriage in the community in order to rebuild (reconstruct) religious understanding that can prevent child marriage. This research used a qualitative descriptive method with a phenomenological approach. The research subjects were families of perpetrators of child marriage in Tanah Mas Sampit Village. The research was conducted from June to October 2024. Data collection was carried out using interviews, observation, documentation, and Forum Group Discussion. Analysis data was carried out using Cresswell's inductive analysis model. Data validity testing was carried out by triangulating data, extending observations, peer debriefing, and providing opportunities for other parties to provide input. The results showed that religious and cultural understanding are still the reasons for the high rate child marriage in Tanah Mas. In the aspect of religious understanding, the reason why parents immediately marry off their children is because they want to protect their children from acts that are forbidden by religion, their children's desire to be devoted to their parents, and their fear of falling into promiscuity. Meanwhile, in the cultural aspect, the habits of parents and family, the environment, and lack of access to education are the main reasons for child marriage. The social construction that occurs in the practice of child marriage at the research locus through the stages of externalization, objectification, and internalization that occur in the perpetrator's social environment

Abstract

Folklore is part of the culture of the community that speaks it, a concrete form of creativity, feeling, and will that becomes the crystallization of values and a reflection of the character of the people. It contains hopes and references for the nobility of character and the outlook on life of the community that speaks it, so that it becomes a transfer of values from the previous generation to the next generation, where there is character education that can be conveyed. This study aims to find and present a general description or information about the folklore of East Kotawaringin. The research method uses a qualitative approach with the ethnopedagogy method. The research locus is Baamang District, East Kotawaringin Regency. Data were collected using interviews, observations, and literature studies. Analysis was carried out through the stages of data reduction, data presentation (display), conclusion, and verification. The results found were information and facts about folklore as a crystallization of values and a reflection of the character of the community. There are values in the folklore of East Kotawaringin, including norms towards oneself, others, the environment, and God. The existence of these values makes folklore can be used as a medium for character education.

Abstract

Bencana kabut asap merupakan bencana yang sering terjadi di Kabupaten Kotawaringin Timur. Salah satu yang terdampak adalah TK Diniyatul Hidayah. Pada tahun 2023 setidaknya ada sepuluh anak dan dua pengajar yang mengalami gangguan kesehatan dan proses belajar mengajar pun harus dilakukan dari rumah (BDR). Edukasi mitigasi bencana belum dilakukan secara maksimal karena guru belum menemukan metode yang tepat. Padahal pendidikan mitigasi bencana penting dilakukan pada anak usia dini. Tujuan program ini adalah memberikan edukasi mitigasi bencana kabut asap kepada mitra untuk menumbuhkan disaster awareness pada anak usia dini. Program ini dilaksanakan selama empat bulan, mulai dari bulan Mei sampai Agustus tahun 2024. Program ini dilakukan dengan praktik dan demonstrasi dengan metode utama yaitu bakesah atau dalam Bahasa Dayak berarti “bercerita”. Luaran yang dihasilkan berupa laporan kemajuan, laporan akhir, buku pedoman mitra, dan akun media sosial. Setelah mengikuti program itu, mitra mengalami peningkatan pemahaman mengenai penyebab, dampak, cara mencegah, dan cara hidup sehat saat kabut asap terjadi.
