Abstract

Biodiversity of macrozoobenthos in Pasir Island, Brebes, is under-explored. On the other hand, the baseline information regarding macrozoobenthos is essentially required for better future environmental management. This research aims to analyze macrozoobenthos community structure in the Pasir Island that has not been documented. Surveys were carried out in the rainy season. In this study, a total of 10 sampling locations were classified into two different groups that represent “control” and “disturbed” station. The main structural parameters of the macrozoobenthos identified at each station were specific richness (S), abundance (number of individuals m-2, N) and the Pielou’s index (J). Additionally, the pairwise comparison between groups was conducted by using analysis of similarity (ANOSIM) and the similarity percentage (SIMPER) to obtain the description of community structure. A total of 1054 specimens were counted from the “control” and “disturbed” stations. These specimens belonged to five animal classes, namely, Bivalvia, Gastropoda, Malacostraca, Cephalopoda and Echinoidea. ANOSIM and SIMPER analysis demonstrated that a significant difference was found between “control“ and  “disturbed“ stations with the percentage of dissimilarity value of 88.82%. In addition, environmental variables such pH, salinity and type of substrates contributed significantly to this difference. This result provides insight regarding macrozoobenthos diversity and ecological information that may contribute to further conservation management in the Pasir Island, Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of people's income, interest rates and inflation on savings in Indonesia. The independent variables in this study are people's income, interest rates and inflation, while the dependent variable is the amount of savings. The population in this study is data on public income, interest rates and inflation, while 15 samples were used, namely from 2005 to 2019. The research data was obtained from publications from the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) and Bank Indonesia. The data analysis technique used is multiple linear regression analysis. Based on the results of data analysis conducted in this study, it can be concluded that: (1) people's income has a positive effect on saving in Indonesia; (2) interest rates and inflation have no effect on savings in Indonesia.

Abstract

This research focuses on exchange rate fluctuations in Indonesia during the period of 2005 to 2023, influenced by various economic factors, primarily monetary policy and international trade dynamics. Exchange rate instability is a major concern because it can impact the national economy, including export competitiveness and macroeconomic stability. Consequently, the purpose of this research is to dissect the relationship between interest rates, export values, and wide money as it pertains to currency swings. This study takes a quantitative approach by analyzing the relationship between the dependent and independent variables via multiple linear regression. World Bank, International Monetary Fund, and Statistics Indonesia yearly time series data from 2005 to 2023 is used. The findings show that broad money, interest rates, and export values significantly impact the swings in the Indonesian currency. According to the findings of the multiple linear regression analysis, Interest rates and broad money have a positive and statistically significant effect on changes in exchange rates, but export values have a negative and statistically significant effect. The implications of this research emphasize the importance of appropriate interest rate policies and balanced broad money management to maintain exchange rate stability. Future researchers are advised to include global variables and more complex analysis methods.

Abstract

This study evaluates the factors that influence the broad money of five ASEAN countries. Global economic uncertainty due to financial crises, geopolitical conflicts and pandemics has affected the region's economic stability. Central banks have a role in controlling broad money through monetary policy, but its effectiveness is affected by other factors such as GDP, interest rates and inflation. Moreover, the relationship between GDP growth, inflation, and interest rates with broad money is a major concern, as the trend of broad money growth in the 5 ASEAN countries continues to increase every year. The balance between broad money and price stability is crucial to prevent economic stress that could lead to a recession. Therefore, this study focuses on an in-depth analysis of the factors that influence money supply to help the government make decisions. The research sample consists of 100 data with five ASEAN countries, namely Vietnam, Indonesia, Thailand, Philippines and Malaysia with a time series of 2004-2023. This methodology uses a mixed approach, namely quantitative with secondary data from the World Bank & IMF with LSDV analysis. It was found that the adjusted r square value was 97%, which means that GDP, interest rates, and inflation used were able to explain the money supply of 5 ASEAN countries by 97% and 3% was influenced by other factors outside this study. GDP was found to have no significant effect while interest rates have a significant negative effect and inflation has a significant positive effect on the broad money of 5 ASEAN countries. The government is expected to better analyze the policies and actions taken, such as managing monetary policy wisely, especially in maintaining the stability of inflation and interest rates so that the money supply can be well controlled.

Abstract

The increase in digital banking due to the influence of high levels of internet usage makes the process of digital financial services easy. The Internet is growing rapidly, fast and cheap, has the potential to increase productivity and competitiveness of Southeast Asian economies. The study was conducted in 10 Southeast Asian countries, namely Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Brunei Darussalam, Myanmar, Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia. Except for Timor Leste due to limited data in supporting this research. The object of this study is the use of digital banking as a dependent variable, while the exchange rate (Nt), foreign exchange reserves (Cd), and interest rate (Sb) are independent variables. In addition, the amount of money in circulation is M0 & M1 as the moderator variable. The data collection technique is by taking panel data from 2014 – 2023 obtained from the official website, namely Stastika.com, Tranding Economic, Focus Economic, World bank and sources related to this research. The data collection technique in this study was carried out using Eviews12. tests are needed in selecting the most appropriate estimates, namely, the Chow Test, the Hausman Test and the Lagrange Multiplier Test. In the regression of moderation variables using the Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA) interaction model.

The method that will be used in this research is Panel Data with analysis using the Eviews 12 application. The research results show that interest rates do not affect the profitability of state-owned banks or private banks. The inflation variable has different effects on the profitability of each bank, namely it affects state-owned banks (BUMN) but does not affect private banks. Similarly, the Exchange Rate has different effects on each bank's profitability, namely, it does not affect State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) banks and does affect Private banks

Abstract

The rapid growth of urban populations in Makassar City poses significant challenges to agricultural land availability and food security. Urban farming offers an innovative solution by utilizing limited spaces for vegetable cultivation. This study aims to formulate strategies for developing vegetable commodities based on urban farming by identifying internal and external factors and determining strategic priorities. A quantitative approach was employed, with data collected through questionnaires, interviews, observations, and documentation. SWOT analysis was applied to map strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats, while the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) was used to determine the main strategies. The findings reveal that urban farming development is positioned in an aggressive quadrant (quadrant I), indicating that internal strengths can be optimized to seize external opportunities. The priority strategies include leveraging the strategic locations of women farmer groups (KWT) to enhance distribution and marketing of harvests, both directly and through digital platforms, and optimizing production facilities and government support to improve vegetable quality and quantity. This study concludes that developing vegetable commodities through urban farming in Makassar City has high potential to strengthen food security and improve community welfare.
