Abstract

Total Ergonomics Approach is application of SHIP (Systemic, Holistic, Interdisciplinary and Participatory) through appropriate technology consideration in conducting design of working condition, work attitude and work system. The Total Ergonomics Approach model has been implemented in various disciplines such as Industrial, Agriculture, Fisheries, and Computer design, Education, Health, Hospitality, Building and Religious. Since 2006 to 2016 (10 years) was found nine scientific sectors that apply the concept of Total Ergonomics Approach. The results of the implementation indicate an incensement in the quality of workers’ health through the reduction of musculoskeletal complaints, fatigue, workload and some other complaints as an impact of ergonomic intervention. The science of ergonomics can be applied to solve various problems in a multidisciplinary range of sciences. Ergonomic improvements take account of human abilities, skills and limitations. Humans become the main factor in every design and improvement work. Keywords: Total Ergonomics, quality of work health, SHIP.

Abstract

Metal manufacturing industries in Bali are spread in Klungkung Regency, Bali. The position of the metal manufacturing industries is in buffer sector of Bali tourism development, so that the stability of sales and production in each period continues to increase. Demand for product quality assurance is carrying out by exporters, including guaranteeing environmentally friendly process. There are many high-quality products are rejected in international market due to the fact that metal manufacturing industries have not consideredhuman and environmental factors (eco-labeling) in their production activity. Companies are switched from Industrial Systems Type I to Closed Loop Industrial System. Various environmental management and industrial management approaches have been carried out, but the current literature review has not reached human physiological aspect. This research is experimental research using treatment by subject design. The result shows that the implementation of clean production technology through participatory ergonomic is able toincrease work performance, in the form of the decrease of musculoskeletal disorders as much as 34.66%.Keywords: Physiological, Musculoskeletal disorders, Metal industry.

Abstract

Every processing industry that has obtained a halal certificate from LPPOM MUI is obliged to maintain and maintain the implementation of Halal Assurance System (HAS), as well as sixteen halal certified milkfish satay processing industries from LPPOM-MUI Banten Province. However, in general the implementation of HAS-23000 has been carried out, but there are still weaknesses that need to be fixed. This weakness lies in the awareness of meeting the criteria and data updates by the company's internal halal management team. This weakness is due to the fulfillment of HAS that does not concern the human factors that carry out activities in the company. Humans are still considered as a complementary part of the company's business processes, not used as part of the main factors in the implementation of HAS-23000. Ergonomic Participatory Intervention needs to be done to improve employee performance seen from a decrease in work boredom and work fatigue. The subjects in this study were workers in 16 processing industries that were randomly selected; the sample fulfilled the inclusion criteria of the study. The design of this study was experimental research (treatment by subject design). Subjects in 16 processing industries, prior to the ergonomic participatory intervention, the initial observation (group I) was conducted, then the subject became an intervention group (application of ergonomic partitioning) referred to as group II. Result: The results showed that after an intervention in the form of ergonomic participatory implementation in the implementation of Halal Assurance System (HAS) in 16 milkfish satay processing industries, the mean of work boredom in group I was 89.44 ± 4.53 and group II was 65.69 ± 4.69 or decreased 26 , 64%, the average general fatigue in group I was 93.69 ± 10.85 and group II 83.13 ± 12.28 or a change of 11.27%, general fatigue felt by workers in 16 industries there were significant differences after an ergonomic participatory intervention (p <0.05 ), while fatigue in the aspect of activity experienced a change of 5.30%, fatigue in the aspect of motivation experienced a change of 24.38%, fatigue in the physical aspect experienced a change of 12.58%. Fatigue in the aspects of motivation and physical aspects there is a very significant change, but in the fatigue aspect of the activity changes that occur is not significant p> 0.05). Intervention with ergonomic participatory can improve employee performance in halal certified satay milkfish food processing industry, seen from the decrease in the level of boredom and work fatigue (general fatigue, activity fatigue, motivation fatigue and physical aspect fatigue). Decreased boredom also occurs (26.64%), indicating that there has been an increase in employee performance as indicated by an improvement in employee mental perceptions. Improved employee performance shows an improvement in the implementation of the criteria in the Halal Assurance System (HAS).Keywords: HAS-23000, Halal, Participatory ergonomics, Boredom, Fatigue.

Abstract

Ladle-kowi is a liquid steel of tool transportation coming from the induction industry. There are two designs of Ladle-kowi such as; Ladle-kowi designed to be operated by one-operator weighing at 15 kg and Ladle-kowi operated by two-operator weighing at 50 kg. Diverse design drafts of Ladle-kowi affect the differences in physical and mental burdens received by every worker. Up to now, the use Ladle-kowi in the metal casting industry of induction system has become a necessity that functioned as a tool for the transport and distribution of liquid steel into the molds. Problems faced by many workers are on the selection of ladle-kowi which will affect the physiological condition of the human body in the form of exposure and fatigue on peripheral skin surface temperature. Human nature has the ability, skill and limitations of laboring which has not been used as a parameter for determining comfortable and safe working conditions. This study aims to determine the level of exposure of the skin surface temperature and the level of fatigue which is then used as the basis of proposals to improve working conditions and serve as the basis of recommendations for a more convenient and safe Ladle-kowi usage. The subjects in this study was workers in the metal casting industry using the facility in the form of Ladle-kowi with one-operator with a capacity of 15 kg filled with molten steel and Two-operator Ladle-Kowi filled with liquid steel capacity of 50 kg. This study belongs to the category of taxonomic research in the form of cross sectional analytic. Subjectsw were randomly selected from all workers in the metal casting industry of induction system. Samples taken were 14 people who have been taken and met the criteria for inclusion and exclusion. The results showed that exposure to the skin surface temperature is lower (0,03OC) than when workers used one-operator ladle-kowi compared with workers using two-operator ladle-kowi. There is a strong positive correlation patterns of exposure time to the degree of exposure to the skin surface temperature. The mean score of fatigue in general when using one-operator ladle-kowi is 97.25 ± 10.75 consisting of activities fatigue by 32.67 ± 4.78, motivational fatigue by 33.50 ± 5.58, and physical fatigue by 31.08 ± 6, 10, while the mean score of fatigue in general when using two-operator ladle-kowi reached 93.58 ± 10.25  consisting of activities fatigue by 29.33 ± 2.00, motivational fatigue by 31.83 ± 6.14, and physical fatigue by 32,42 ± 5.35. Only in aspects of activities fatigue, they experienced the highest fatigue differences of 10.20% (p <0.05) using one-operator ladle-kowi than to using the two-operator ladle-kowi. Conclusion: The use of one-operator ladle-kowi is better when compared with the use two-operator ladle-kowi, seen from the level of exposure of the surface temperature of the skin, but two-operator ladle-kowi is better when compared to using a one-operator ladle-kowi, seen from the average value of general fatigue (down 3.77%). One-operator ladle-kowi needed improvements in the form of a  working re-organization so that workers' fatigue can be lowered, while the to operators ladle-kowi required the addition of a shield mounted on a frame ladle-kowi to reduce the radiated heat of molten steel
