Abstract

The addition of ginger and milk powder rejected in the feed can improve the work of organs in digestion. This research was conducted with the aim of knowing the effect of adding ginger and milk powder rejected in the ration at different levels on the internal organ profile of broiler chickens. The method used in this study was a completely randomized design with a factorial pattern with 3 treatments (factor A) and 4 treatments (factor B) using 2 replications for each replication or the experimental unit containing 2 chickens. The variables measured in this study were liver weight percentage, small intestine segment weight percentage (duodenum, jejunum and ileum) and small intestine segment length percentage (duodenum, jejunum and ileum). The results showed that there was an interaction between the addition of ginger and milk powder rejected on the percentage of jejunum and ileum weight, as well as the percentage of jejunum and ileum length. The single factor addition of ginger gave a significant effect on the percentage of liver weight, the percentage of jejunum and ileum weight, and the percentage of jejunum length. the single factor giving rejected milk powder had a significant effect on the percentage of the weight of the duodenum and the percentage of the weight of the jejunum.

Abstract

The community’s need for food of animal origin increases in line with economic development, change in healthy lifestyles and awareness of health so that people tend to consume highly nutritious and healthy foods such as eggs. But eggs contain high levels of fat. To overcome this, duck eggs are preserved by ripening using sweet orange peel. This study aims to determine the fat content of salted duck eggs during ripening using sweet orange peel. This research method used a completely randomized design (CRD), namely 5 treatments (0%, 15%, 30%, 45% and 60% sweet orange peel extract) each with 2 replications. Tools and materials used are basins, analytical scales, jars, sandpaper, stove, pots, knives, plastic, labels, 40 duck eggs, 1. 250 ml of water, 1,200 grams of rubbing ash, 2,000 grams of bricks, 2,000 grams of salt and 720 grsweet orange peel. Parameters tested for salted duck egg fat content by ripening using sweet orange peel. Data analysis used Analysis of Variance (ANOVA). The results of the study found that the addition of sweet orange peel extract had no significant effect (P>0.05) on the fat content of salted duck eggs.

Abstract

The development of horse farms in Gantarang Village has not been in line with the high utilization of horse livestock, so it is necessary to evaluate the management of horse farm maintenance in the area. The research was conducted in September 2022 in Gantarang Village, Kelara District, Jeneponto Regency. The object of this study were horse breeders in Gantarang Village, with 30 respondents. Respondents were selected purposively (purposive sampling) and then interviewed. The results showed that the majority of horse breeders in Gantarang Village raised 1-3 horses (60%). As many as 67% of respondents are private owners of the horses they keep. Horse rearing in Gantarang Village uses an intensive (50%) and semi-intensive (50%) system. The frequency of feeding 3 times was carried out by 67% of breeders and was carried out in the morning, afternoon and evening. All breeders (100%) who raise traditional horses in Gantarang Village only use forages, namely grass and straw. Horse farming in Gantarang Village is still traditional with a low number of horse owners. The provision of forage is carried out using the cut and carry method, namely taking feed from another location as far as 1-2 km from the location of the stable and bringing it to the stable or where the horses are grazed. Research on horse farming, especially in Jeneponto Regency, must be continued as one of the efforts to improve the community's economy, preserve culture, germplasm and the environment, develop livestock quality and health, and sustain horse production in the future.

Abstract

This study aims to determine broiler chickens' production performance in a closed-house system. The research was conducted in a closed-house system with a capacity of 22,000 CP 707 strains at plasma breeders of PT. Prosperous Star Together. The variables used in this study include harvested body weight, body weight gain, Feed Conversion Ratio (FCR), Performance Index (IP) and percentage of depletion. The research technique used is direct observation in the field. Sampling uses simple random sampling, where the sample is randomly selected from a specified number. Analysis tools used descriptive method. The measurement data will be compared with the performance standards of broiler chickens according to PT. Charoen Pokphand. The results showed that the average body weight at 25 days was 1.614 kg/head, increased body weight was 1.564 kg/head, FCR was 1.36, IP was 465.45 and depletion percentage was 1.95%. The conclusion that can be drawn from the results of this study is that the production performance of broiler chickens kept in a closed-house system reaches the standards of PT. Charoen Pokphand.

Abstract

Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pengetahuan, pelatihan dan pendampingan kepada masyarakat Majelis Taklim Ummu Salamah dalam pengolahan daging ayam menjadi nugget sebagai upaya peningkatan gizi keluarga. Program pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PkM) melalui penyuluhan dalam upaya pemenuhan kebutuhan gizi keluarga sangat penting demi membangun keluarga yang sehat dan dapat beraktivitas dengan optimal. Keamanan dan kesehatan makanan merupakan kunci utamanya sehingga perlu peran aktif ibu dalam mengatasi persoalan tersebut. Melalui pengabdian masyarakat pengolahan daging ayam menjadi nugget, para peserta pengabdian dapat bertambah pengetahuan dan keterampilannya dalam mengolah bahan pangan daging ayam menjadi makanan yang sehat, bergizi, bersih dan terjamin keamanannya. Serta lebih ekonomis karena dibuat sendiri menggunakan bahan yang mudah didapat.
