Abstract

Emansipasi wanita dalam ajaran Islam selalu menjadi bahan diskusi yang menarik, karena ada anggapan bahwa ajaran Islam diskriminatif terhadap wanita. Benarkah Islam diskriminatif? Hal ini perlu diteliti dan dibuktikan. Dalam perspektif sejarah dapat dibuktikan bagaimana Islam telah mengangkat derajat wanita, ini dapat dilihat dengan mengkomparasikan kondisi wanita pra Islam dengan pasca Islam. Dari perspektif Syari’ah dapat dibuktikan bahwa hakikatnya tidak ada diskriminasi antara laki-laki dan wanita di hadapan hukum Islam. Perspektif Al-Qur’an juga membuktikan bahwa Allah selalu mendudukkan laki-laki dan wanita dalam posisi yang sama, tidak ada diskriminasi dalam Al-Qur’an. Berdasarkan tiga perspektif di atas, terbukti bahwa Islam telah mengangkat derajat kaum wanita, sehingga terjadi kesetaraan antara  wanita dengan laki-laki. Dalam Islam ada bagian ajaran yang bersifat absolut dan ada yang bersifat relatif; yaitu yang merupakan ajaran-ajaran pokok (ushul) yang ada dalam Al-Qur’an dan As-Sunnah, dan yang merupakan hasil pemikiran manusia (ijtihad) tentang perincian dan penjabaran (furu’) tentang cara pelaksanaan ajaran-ajaran pokok tersebut. Dalam berijtihad manusia sangat mungkin terpengaruh oleh budaya yang ada, termasuk yang masih patrilineal. Sementara itu teks-teks Al-Qur’an dan Hadts (ajaran pokok) telah menggariskan prinsip dan semangat kesetaraan jender, oleh karena itu perlu dilakukan reinterpretasi untuk menghasilkan pemahaman-pemahaman yang sesuai dengan prinsip dan semangat ajaran pokok Islam tersebut.

Abstract

The problem underlying this research is a perception of slow development and advancement labeled to Indonesian as a result of low working spirit in comparison to its neighboring countries known as “Little Dragons” such as South Korea, Taiwan, China and Singapore. Moslem dominate Indonesia as a major religion; whether Aqidah has influences on a person’s working spirit is the main focus of this research. It is very important to prove whether there is a positive relationship between a person’s Aqidah and his/her working spirit.Data analysis is carried data tabulation method and correlation analysis (Pearson Correlation). The result show that almost, the correlation of the variables shows quite low correlation between the tendency of Aqidah thought and working spirit. It can be concluded that Aqidah is not the sole factor influencing the person working spirit. There must other factors outside Aqidah in particular and religion in general.

Abstract

Discussing the radicalism of religion and global terrorism is a global challenge that is now a worldwide concern, including for the Islamic community in Indonesia. Research in this paper with an analytical descriptive approach using the documentative method. The general purpose of this research is to understand the root causes of terrorism and religious radicalism in Indonesia? What is the solution of Islam to overcome the problem of religious radicalism and global terrorism? The results show: first, the historical roots of global terrorism and religious radicalism is a very complex portrait of social, political, and economic history. Also, the complexity of local, regional and global problems are interconnected with one another. Second, the Islamic solution to overcome this problem with the Islamic approach of peace for all (rahmatan lil alamin) which prioritizes the path of dialogue and world peace.

Abstract

Banyak usaha yang telah dilakukan pemerintah untuk meningkatkan mutupendidikan di sekolah, seperti menerbitkan Peraturan Pemerintah RI Nomor 19tahun 2005 tentang Standar Nasional Pendidikan. Institusi pendidikan juga tidakketinggalan dengan mengadakan kegiatan ilmiah yang dapat mengembangkanpotensi guru melalui seminar, pelatihan, workshop dan lainnya secaraberkelanjutan sehingga guru menjadi profesional yang mempunyai kemampuanmeningkatkan mutu pembelajaran di sekolah yang pada akhirnya peningkatanmutu pendidikan akan terwujud dan menjadi kenyataan. Artikel ini membahasfaktor-faktor peningkatan mutu pendidikan, unsur-unsur peningkatatan mutupendidikan serta strategi peningkatan mutu pendidikan.

Abstract

Hal yang sering menjadi problematika dan bahan diskusi panjang adalah masalah kelestarian alam. Permasalahan ini sangat berkaitan dengan sikap manusia terhadap alam; bagaimana manusia seharusnya memahami dan bersikap terhadap alam dan lingkungan sekitarnya. Hal inilah yang ingin dikaji dan diteliti untuk menemukan jawabannya. Kajian ini menggunakan pendekatan filsafat dari pemikiran para tokoh filsafat modern. Hasilnya: Prinsip Pansubyektifitas Whitehead, Wahdat al-wujud (makhluk) Mulla Shadra, dan Kesatuan ego (individu) Iqbal hendaknya dapat menjadi dasar untuk menumbuhkan kesadaran setiap pribadi manusia sebagai sama-sama subyek dengan unsur-unsur alam yang lain, sehingga tidak ada sikap semena-mena yang eksploitatif terhadap alam dan lingkungan, karena hal itu dapat mengakibatkan ketidakharmonisan general (disharmoni global). Ketika manusia menganggap bahwa lingkungan (alam) di sekitarnya adalah obyek, maka dapat memberi konotasi manusia boleh melakukan eksploitasi sesuka hati terhadap alam. Akan tetapi jika manusia menyadari bahwa seluruh unsur alam ini adalah sesama makhluk, sesama individu, dan sama-sama subyek yang saling terkait, maka tidak ada alasan bagi manusia untuk boleh berbuat ketidakadilan (dhalim) dan kerusakan terhadap alam.

Abstract

Today, the use of video is prevalent in facilitating learning process. Commonly, it is used to deliver cognitive content. By using video, knowledge the delivered content can be easier to understand, clearer to grasp and becomes more interesting. Many studies devoted to explore the cognitive functions of video. However, how video can affectively contribute to self-development and potential community developed remains unexplored widely. This study intends to examine inspirational video impacts on students’ analysis, inspiration and motivation to develop themselves and contribute their self-development to wider community. The study adopts a qualitative method. The data are collected from thirty-eight student participants. The study finds that video can stimulate the student-participants to develop self-commitment to undertake self-learning, perseverance, hard work, diligence, emotion regulation and elf-efficacy. The study also reveals that the student participants develop commitment to contribute their learning to community development. Thus, it can be indicated that video is a potential development tool, which can promote human capital improvement through self-learning and self improvement and social capital, through social cohesion and engagement for succeeding community development.

Abstract

Women are often seen as inferior to males in the community. Their occupations are limited to domestic duties such as caring for the family and making sure that everyday necessities are met. Despite their undervalued values, women continue to play a critical role in guaranteeing the welfare of the community, the well-being of the family, and the healthy development of the children. Nowadays, many women are joining the workforce, taking on leadership positions and taking part in a variety of community activities. This demonstrates the importance of women as contributors to society and the need to develop women's potential. Therefore, the study's goal is to investigate factors facilitating women's spiritual empowerment for treating female corpses. The study is focused on women empowerment at Desa Punggul by adopting qualitative method. The data are collected through participant direct observation and facilitating team's documentation, which are collected during community service program. The collected data are analyzed by using thematic analysis method. The study finds that women spiritual empowerment at Desa Punggul are enabled by two main factors. The first factor is the contribution of women organization (PKK). The women's organization promotes women's development in three areas: cognition (improving women's skills and knowledge, learning, or participating in decision-making, collaborating, and organizing community events), affection (boosting women's self-efficacy, self-worth, and strengthening women's mentality), and social (expanding social roles, establishing wider social relationships, and gaining support from their peers). The second component is the encouragement of a welcoming, cooperative, tolerant, engaging, and inclusive environment or community.

Abstract

Character education development is an unfinished process. The Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology (ITS) Surabaya is one of the favorite state campuses which also pays attention to scientific and Islamic development through developing the role of the Manarul Ilmi campus mosque. ITS Surabaya realizes that developing character education is a shared responsibility. In this context, this research is qualitative in nature with a descriptive analytical approach and uses documentary methods supported by interviews. The general aim of this research is to find out what and how to develop Muslim character education and the educational role of the Manarul Ilmi mosque at ITS Surabaya? What are the challenges, obstacles and solutions in developing character education and religious moderation for Muslim students through the Manarul Ilmi ITS Surabaya mosque? The research results show that the educational role of the Manarul Ilmi mosque at ITS Surabaya is very significant in developing character education and religious moderation for intelligent, trustworthy and creative Muslim students through various activities, training, discussion forums, routine studies and program synergies
