Abstract

Kehadiran internet dengan berbagai kreatifitas aplikasi, menghadirkan ruang kreasi dan demokrasi yang lebih luas. Euphoria masyarakat pada internet tidak saja menjangkiti negara asal dan negara-negara maju, namun juga merambah ke negara-negara dunia ketiga seperti Indonesia yang mengklaim dirinya sebagai negara demokrasi. Jika sebelumnya demokrasi itu terbatas pada ruang elit partai dan negara, pada konteks tersebut maka meme hadir. Oleh karena itu dalam penelitian ini rumusan masalah adalahnya bagaimana wacana mengenai politisi perempuan ditampilkan melalui meme dengan menggunakan wacana Foucault. Kehadiran internet menjadikan dunia berubah. Relasi antara manusia berubah, ruang kreatifitas tumbuh dan berkembang tak terkendali. Informasi bisa diproduksi oleh siapapun dan disebarkan kepada siapapun. Maka kehadiran meme tentang politisi perempuan membuka ruang-ruang politik kerakyatan yang tak mampu dijamah oleh media mainstream. Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah meme dan internet memberikan ruang baru bagi publik untuk menyampaikan kritik dan saran dalam kegiatan politik

Abstract

Penelitian dengan judul “Bingkai Krisis QZ8501 pada Press Release AirAsia Indonesia Yang Dimuat Dalam Situs Website www.qz8501.airasia.com”, bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana pembingkaian krisis QZ8501 yang dilakukan oleh maskapai penerbangan AirAsia Indonesia pada berbagai siaran press release pasca kecelakaan pesawat penerbangan QZ8501. Dalam penelitian ini, peneliti menggunakan model analisis framing menurut Robert Entman guna melihat bagaimana pihak maskapai penerbangan AirAsia Indonesia menyeleksi dan menonjolkan aspek tertentu dari suatu isu, terkait dengan krisis akibat kecelakaan pesawat QZ8501. Melalui analisa framing Robert Entman, peneliti menemukan satu frame besar, yakni krisis QZ8501 dianggap sebagai musibah yang menimpa maskapai penerbangan AirAsia Indonesia. Dimana selain digunakan sebagai suatu pijakan yang mendasari berbagai penulisan siaran press release, frame krisis tersebut juga digunakan oleh maskapai penerbangan AirAsia Indonesia sebagai suatu strategi perbaikan citra untuk mengatasi berbagai pemberitaan negatif yang muncul di berbagai media massa. Sehingga melalui penjelasan tersebut dapat terlihat jelas bagaimana fungsi dari press release yang digunakan sebagai alat untuk mengalihkan perhatian publik dari berbagai fakta yang merugikan organisasi dan memusatkan pada berbagai fakta yang menguntungkan organisasi.

Abstract

This research aims to map the level of media literacy among first voters in Surabaya. 300 first-time voters were participated in this research. They are range 17 to 20 years old. The result shows that majority of first-time voters are in technical skill level. This means that they are savvy in seeking information about election through browser (2.99) as well as in saving the webpage (3.11). They are also savvy in sharing information about election (3.04) as well as in reporting the false content (3.03). The first-time voters are also literate to content about election that spread all over the internet (critical abilities). They are able to distinguish the election news which contain hoax (3.20). They are also able to verify the credibility of the news they read (2.89). The first-time voters have remark the credible sources that they trust (2.98). Although they are savvy in technical skills level and in critical abilities level, they do not adopt the communicative abilities. This means they do not participate in creating written content (1.74) and visual/audio-visual content (1.68) about the election. They tend to not repost and add caption to a content about election (1.98).

Abstract

This research is motivated by two primary factors. First, the emergence of alternative news media can be considered as a counterbalance to the professional news media with their various biases. The second pertains to the protracted legislative process of the Sexual Violence Bill (RUU TPKS) before its eventual enactment. The objective of this study is to see examine these two media categories frame the protracted struggle in the legislative process of the TPKS Bill, given that framing reflects the media's perspective, which subsequently influence the audience's understanding of the issue. The subjects of this research are news related to the TPKS Bill as presented by both professional and alternative media in Indonesia. This research employs a qualitative approach in conjunction with the framing method developed by Robert Entman. This study’s findings reveal diametrical contrast in the frames adopted by professional and alternative media in reporting the TPKS Bill. Professional media constructs a frame that characterizes the protracted discussion of the TPKS Bill in the DPR as a technical-procedural problem. In contrast, alternative media framed it as a result of the DPR’s failure or lack of commitment to protect victims of sexual violence.

Abstract

This community service is a continuation of the mentoring activity "SAYUKA TV Podcast Video Production Process". In the context of the modern world, which is increasingly facilitated by the development of digital communication, Catechists as preachers of the Word of God, are not only required to have technical skills in digital media production, but the ability to speak in public with interesting and relevant content for the Catholic Church is also a necessity. This activity was also motivated by the lack of public speaking skills of Catechists when speaking in public. Public speaking can be defined as a communication process carried out by someone in front of a large audience to provide information, influence, or entertainment. The target object of this training is the Catechist Team and Social Communication (Komsos) of Santo Yusup Karangpilang Catholic Church, Diocese of Surabaya. This activity took the theme "Public Speaking Training: Talking Asik Scripture". The purpose of this activity is manifested in five main competencies that must be possessed by the trainees, namely improving communication skills, strengthening self-confidence, increasing attractiveness and influence, overcoming nervousness, and improving interaction with the audience. The training activities are divided into two stages, namely the delivery of conceptual insights (awareness and knowledge), then followed by a speaking practice session (activity). The results of this service activity show that the trainees experienced positive changes in their way of speaking, including more careful word selection and increased confidence when communicating with the audience.

Abstract

The mass media holds an important element in aspects of public life, because of the power of mass media itself which can provide information and form public opinion, through the published news. Making news in the mass media is essentially a compilation of the realities seen by journalists wbich are then rearranged to form a new “story”. Therefore, it is not an exaggeration to say that all media content is a constructed reality. Media coverage is an effort to construct reality, which is an effort to restructure the reality of an event or a number of events that were originally fragmented (random) to become systematic to form a meaningful story or discourse. Because the way to construct an event will give a certain image of reality. One of the aspects of public life is the world of higher education, especially in Indonesia. Where it is important to know how the mass media provide a picture or portrait of higher education, which of course will be able to provide a perspective on the quality of education in Indonesia. Plagiarism is one of the issues that has received sharp attention regarding to the quality of education in Indonesia. Tempo specifically provides coverage related to plagiarism by leaders of the world of higher education. Kasus plagiarisme merupakan kasus yang seringkali terjadi di Pendidikan Tinggi di Indonesia terutama di kalangan akademisi. Berdasarkan fenomena tersebut, tidak berlebihan jika disebutkan bahwa penghargaan karya ilmiah orang lain belum dianggap sebagai sesuatu yang penting. Selain itu, rendahnya rasa penghargaan terhadap karya penulis juga menjadi hal yang belum diperhatikan dalam penulisan karya ilmiah. Berdasarkan fenomena tersebut, penelitian tersebut akan mendeskripsikan penonjolan berita pada berita plagiarism di lingkungan perguruan tinggi. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa badan penulisan ilmiah seperti lingkungan pendidikan tinggi masih melindungi dan memfasilitasi para pelaku untuk menjiplak karya orang lain dan kurangnya sikap tegas dari pemerintah dalam menyoroti kasus plagiarisme.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to describe how Public Relations professionnals understands journalists and the media industry works to provide the information to maximise company publications in the media. This research was conducted with in-depth interviews with Public Relations professionals from different companies. Mediating The Media Model will help PR professionals understand the important factors in establishing media relations and media coverage, especially when social media and mainstream media intersect. Media relations extend beyond establishing communication with journalists. Media relations is a complex ,activity; by considering the media works, and the publication strategy that must be given to get news coverage. Especially with the development of digital technology, it provides a new space for Public Relations to carry out media relations.This research found that news values are the primary consideration in providing information subsidies to the media. Although company advertisers are considered as the primary determinant of newsrooms loading company news, the development of digital media has changed how Public Relations defines the meaning of media in media relations. Media is no longer limited to mainstream media, but also personal channels like in the case of influencers. Some mainstream media are also starting to be abandoned, particularly the radio and. online news is becoming the first choice. Public Relations realizes several factors that influence their company's media coverage.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kmunculnya peristiwa boikot beberapa merk global di sosial media, atau disebut online firestorm. Online firestorm merupakan serangan tiba-tiba dari sejumlah besar komentar negatif dari mulut ke mulut dan perilaku mengeluh terhadap seseorang, perusahaan, atau kelompok di jaringan media sosial. Online firestorm menjadi perspektif dalam melihat krisis perusahaan dengan berkembangangnya media sosial. Hashtag #boikotprodukisrael, #boikotisrael menjadi trending topic di twitter sejak adanya beberapa dugaan global brand diduga terafiliasi dengan Israel. Tentunya, munculnya gerakan boikot di sosial media turut memunculkan pemberitaan di beberapa media massa. Pada akhirnya apa yang diperbincangan sebagai online firestorm tersebut dapat berubah menjadi skandal dan ancaman reputasi bagi organisasi. Berpijak pada situational crisis communication theory (SCCT), penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi respon global brand atas online firestorm dalam seruan boikot yang dituliskan oleh media online dengan menggunakan metode analisis isi kualitatif. SSCT menjelaskan bahwa strategi dalam merespon krisis yang dialami perusahaan ada 3 cara 1) penyangkalan (deny response strategy), (2) mengurangi (diminish response strategy) dan (3) membangun kembali (rebuild response strategy. Hasil dari intepretasi data, penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa strategi utama merepson online firestorm dalam seruan boikot yang dituliskan Kumparan.com dan Kompas.com adalah deny crisis respose strategies dengan attact the accuser dan scapegoat. Sedangkan secondary crisis response strategies strategies dilakukan dengan reminder dan victimage.
