Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has changed the learning system in Indonesia to online-based learning. Students' perceptions need to be known to understand how students perceive online chemistry learning, especially during the pandemic. A quantitative method is conducted using a Likert-scale questionnaire of 25 items. The questionnaire is trying to explore students’ perceptions on three dimensions, namely, material and teaching method, learning atmosphere and environment, and social interactions. Respondents are 385 students of the science program at two public schools in Ciamis regency. The results showed that in general, the majority of students (>50%) perceive online chemistry learning positively, especially with regard to material and teaching method and learning atmosphere and environment. However, the dimension of social interaction is found to have more negative responses (>80%) than positive ones. This is apparent in the communication and interaction between students and their teachers and peers. From this study, it is concluded that while online learning seems to be relatively accepted and prepared by students, the social interactions of students need to be seriously considered as they may affect students’ mental health and well-being. Further research is therefore recommended to explore more the extent to which mental health and well-being influence students’ performance in online learning.

Abstract

E-Learning Madrasah (ELM) adalah suatu Learning Management Sistem  (LMS) yang dibuat oleh Kementerian Agama untuk memfasilitasi pembelajaran jarak jauh. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui persepsi siswa terhadap kualitas E-Learning Madrasah dan pembelajaran daring kimia menggunakan E-Learning Madrasah. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif dan teknik pengumpulan data berupa penyebaran kuesioner kepada 70 siswa; wawancara siswa dan guru; serta dokumentasi hasil belajar siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa mayoritas siswa berpendapat bahwa semua indikator pada aspek kualitas E-Learning Madrasah (kualitas sistem, kualitas informasi, kualitas layanan, dan kepuasan pengguna) adalah baik. Dengan demikian dapat dikatakan bahwa E-Learning Madrasah memiliki kualitas yang baik. Namun pada aspek pembelajaran daring kimia menggunakan E-Learning Madrasah hanya indikator efisien yang menurut mayoritas siswa dalam kategori baik, sementara tiga indikator lainnya (pembelajaran yang aktif, pembelajaran yang lebih baik, dan persepsi efektivitas) dalam kategori buruk. Dengan demikian dapat diketahui bahwa pembelajaran daring kimia menggunakan E-Learning Madrasah hanya baik dalam hal efisiensi pembelajaran. Kualitas E-Learning Madrasah bukanlah satu-satunya faktor yang memengaruhi efektivitas pembelajaran kimia menggunakan ELM, faktor lain seperti karakteristik siswa, desain pembelajaran, karakteristik konten pembelajaran, karakteristik guru, dan juga lingkungan turut memengaruhi efektivitas pembelajaran daring dan faktor-faktor ini tidak bisa berdiri sendiri.E-Learning Madrasah (ELM) adalah suatu Learning Management Sistem  (LMS) yang dibuat oleh Kementerian Agama untuk memfasilitasi pembelajaran jarak jauh. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui adanya pengaruh aktivitas dan hasil belajar siswa yang diajarkan menggunakan pendekatan reciprocal teaching. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuasi eksperimen dengan rancangan penelitian nonequivalent control group design. Sampel pada penelitian adalah kelas XI MIPA 1 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas XI MIPA 2 sebagai kelas kontrol. Hasil observasi aktivitas siswa pada keempat indikator menunjukkan kelas eksperimen lebih unggul dibandingkan kelas kontrol. Hasil penelitian dari uji parametrik Uji t pada hasil pretest menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan awal siswa pada kedua kelas tidak ada perbedaan. Kemudian uji non parametrik Uji Mann-Whitney menunjukkan nilai signifikansi 0,006 artinya terdapat perbedaan posttest hasil belajar siswa antara kelas eksperimen dengan kelas kontrol, sehingga dapat disimpulkan terdapat pengaruh aktivitas dan hasil belajar siswa dengan pendekatan reciprocal teaching pembelajaran jarak jauh materi koloid.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menentukan 1) uji prasyarat instrumen penelitian 2) uji n-gain 3) peningkatan penggunaan laboratorium virtual PhET (Physics Education Technology) terhadap motivasi belajar pada materi asam-basa. Metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kuantitatif pada 33 siswa kelas eksperimen dan 33 siswa kelas kontrol SMAN 1 Panggarangan yang dipilih dengan metode purposive sampling. Data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner yang berisi 20 item. Hasil uji prasyarat instrumen penelitian dinyatakan valid, reliabel, dan data terdistribusi secara normal. Uji N-Gain kelas eksperimen pada kategori sedang dan kelas kontrol pada kategori rendah. Penggunaan laboratorium virtual PhET memberikan pengalaman pembelajaran yang menarik, interaktif, dan relevan, sehingga motivasi siswa untuk terlibat dalam proses belajar mengalami peningkatan dari tingkat motivasi rendah menjadi tingkat motivasi sedang. Penggunaan laboratorium virtual PhET dirancang secara khusus untuk memikat perhatian siswa dan mendorong mereka untuk aktif terlibat dalam membangun pemahaman konsep-konsep kimia pada materi asam-basa melalui eksperimen. Penelitian ini dapat digunakan sebagai alternatif praktik menggunakan media virtual dengan kegiatan yang melibatkan teknologi dan pendekatan pedagogi berdasarkan simulasi yang disesuaikan dengan kebutuhan proses pembelajaran.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine student’s knowledge and science competence based on socio-scientific issues (SSI) of colloidal system material. A total of 313 class XII students in four schools representing South Tangerang City High School participated in this study. Sampling was done using cluster random sampling technique. The method used in this research is quantitative descriptive method with survey research. The instruments used were 22 essay questions. The obtained quantitative data were analyzed by scoring and converted into percentages. Based on the results of the study, it showed that the scientific literacy ability of students on aspects of science knowledge and competence is in quite good category with the percentage of achievement obtained respectively at 58.39% and 57.89%. Abstract

 During the 21st century, students are encouraged to develop skills that enable them to deal with real-life problems. The purpose of this study is to analyze what kind of 21st-century skills can be built during a teaching and learning process in the classroom. Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) approach through a project-based learning (PjBL), or STEAM-PjBL-based learning, seems to provide a promise in the development of 21st-century skills of students. This study, therefore, is conducted to reveal the kind of skills that can be built during the STEAM-PjBL learning process. Using a literature review, this study collects and analyzes relevant articles from national and international journals through several search engine systems, such as Taylor & Francis Online, Springer, etc., and indexed databases, such as SCOPUS, DOAC, and Eric, both from the period of 2014-2022. This study found that the 4Cs of the 21st-century skills, namely, critical thinking and problem solving, communication, collaboration, and creative thinking, can be built from the activities in each stage of the STEAM-PjBL learning process.  While the skills are evident from the literature review, a further empirical study is encouraged to be conducted to ensure how the skills can be successfully developed and further improved

Abstract

Learning difficulties often hinder students from reaching their academic potential, one of which is caused by boredom during the learning process. This boredom can occur if the teaching methods applied are not sufficiently engaging or relevant to the students. This study aims to explore the implementation of Project-Based Learning (PjBL) and Cooperative Learning models used by chemistry teachers to overcome learning difficulties among 10th-grade students at Madrasah Pembangunan. The research approach used in this study is qualitative with a case study design, in which data were collected through in-depth interviews, classroom observations, and documentation. The results indicate Project-Based Learning (PjBL) and Cooperative Learning models can overcome student difficulties in learning chemistry concepts when combining with differentiated instruction and linking learning to real-life issues. The application of these learning models has been proven to increase student engagement in the learning process and facilitate a deeper and more practical understanding of chemical concepts within the context of their daily lives. This study contributes to enriching chemistry teaching practices at the secondary school level with more innovative and applicable approaches.

Abstract

Kurikulum merdeka adalah kurikulum yang dirancang berfokus kepada siswa dengan memiliki prinsip pengembangan kompetensi dan karakter, fleksibel, dan juga berfokus pada muatan esensial. Namun, dalam penerapan kurikulum merdeka tidak terlepas dari permasalahan yang ada di lapangan, salah satunya yang dirasakan oleh guru mata pelajaran Kimia di SMAN 1 Rumpin. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan permasalahan penerapan kurikulum merdeka yang dirasakan oleh guru kimia di SMAN 1 Rumpin. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Peneliti menggunakan teknik pengumpulan data berupa wawancara semi struktur, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan analisis data Miles Huberman dan Saldana yang terdiri dari data condentation, data display, dan conclusion: drawing/verification. Penelitian ini menemukan delapan temuan yang menunjukan permasalahan yang dirasakan oleh guru kimia di SMAN 1 Rumpin dalam menerapkan kurikulum merdeka diantaranya: kurangnya kesiapan guru dalam menerapkan kurikulum merdeka, kendala dalam menerapkan strategi pembelajaran, rendahnya minat siswa, kurangnya sumber daya manusia, fasilitas, dan finansial, keterbatasan waktu, kendala dalam menerapkan Projek Penguatan Profil Pelajar Pancasila (P5), beban kerja, dan kurangnya dukungan dari stakeholder (pemerintah, kolaborasi guru, dan orang tua). Kata kunci: Problematika implementasi; Kurikulum Merdeka; guru mata pelajaran kimia.

Abstract

The aims of this study are to analyze the interpersonal relationships between chemistry teachers and their students, to investigate chemistry teacher interpersonal behaviour using Model for Interpersonal Teacher Behaviour (MITB), and to identify the interpersonal behaviour profile of chemistry teacher according to student’s perception. The data were collected from 472 eleventh grade students of science class in 5 Public Senior High School and 5 Private Senior High School in South Tangerang Municipality who were randomly sampled using teacher-student interpersonal relationships questionnaire adapted from Questionnaire on Teacher Interaction (QTI). Data were analyzed using Rasch model in Winsteps version 3.73. Results showed that in general, it was indicated that the interpersonal relationships of chemistry teachers and their students are categorized as relatively good. The teachers were considered to have adequately dominant and very cooperative behaviour with students in classroom. Meanwhile, in terms of interpersonal behaviour scale, students perceived their teachers as having higher rate on leadership, helping/friendly, and understanding behaviour than the hostility behaviour. Then, according to interpersonal behaviour profile, it showed that chemistry teachers in South Tangerang Municipality were identified as authoritative.
