Abstract

ANALISIS UJIAN AKHIR KIMIA BERDASARKAN KOMPLEKSITASKOGNITIF TAKSONOMI BLOOMAbstractSchool exams has been used by teachers to determine the success of students’ learning. This research is aimed to determine the extent of students learning through an analysis of end-of-year exam items based on Bloom’s cognitive complexity. The exam instruments are gathered from chemistry teachers of 5 public schools, consisting of in total 190 5-multiple-choice items. Qualitative approach and theory-driven content analysis method using Bloom’s revised taxonomy of cognitive complexity were employed in the research.  The result of this research showed that the majority of items (82.7%) determined students learning lower order cognitive skills (remember, understand, and apply). Skill of the analysis is the only higher order cognitive skill that has been found in the exam questions (17.3%). With regards to knowledge dimension, it was found that conceptual knowledge weighed the most among other dimensions (54.7%). It is interesting to see, however, that, the highest procedural knowledge was seen in the application skills (27.9%).  This research suggests that chemistry teachers need to carefully determine exam questions according to the cognitive complexity in order to ensure the extent of students learning. For curriculum developer, this research can be used to consider the depth of students’ learning outcomes as they serve as the foundation for exam development. Further research can be done to determine the gap between the exams and the expected learning outcomes. This will be beneficial to understand the extent to which schools can go higher than the minimun learning outcomes determined by the government.

Abstract

Learning difficulties often hinder students from reaching their academic potential, one of which is caused by boredom during the learning process. This boredom can occur if the teaching methods applied are not sufficiently engaging or relevant to the students. This study aims to explore the implementation of Project-Based Learning (PjBL) and Cooperative Learning models used by chemistry teachers to overcome learning difficulties among 10th-grade students at Madrasah Pembangunan. The research approach used in this study is qualitative with a case study design, in which data were collected through in-depth interviews, classroom observations, and documentation. The results indicate Project-Based Learning (PjBL) and Cooperative Learning models can overcome student difficulties in learning chemistry concepts when combining with differentiated instruction and linking learning to real-life issues. The application of these learning models has been proven to increase student engagement in the learning process and facilitate a deeper and more practical understanding of chemical concepts within the context of their daily lives. This study contributes to enriching chemistry teaching practices at the secondary school level with more innovative and applicable approaches.

Abstract

Research on assessment and evaluation in chemistry education continues to grow in response to the increasing demand for comprehensive assessment systems. This study aims to analyze the development, trends, and research structure of assessment and evaluation in chemistry education using a bibliometric approach. Data were collected from the Google Scholar database using keywords related to chemistry learning assessment, chemistry learning evaluation, learning outcome assessment in Kurikulum merdeka, Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS), and authentic assessment. A total of 80 articles published between 2022 and 2026 were analyzed using VOSviewer. The results showed that the publications received 1,949 citations, with an average of 24.36 citations per article, an h-index of 7, and a g-index of 44. Publication trends peaked in 2024 before declining in 2025–2026. Network visualization identified HOTS as the central keyword linked to learning, formative assessment, summative assessment, diagnostic assessment, and Problem-Based Learning (PBL). Overlay visualization revealed a shift toward deep learning and diverse assessment approaches, while density visualization indicated that HOTS, learning, formative assessment, and summative assessment were the dominant research topics. These findings provide an overview of research trends in chemistry education assessment and evaluation and may serve as a reference for future studies.

Abstract

Islamic Higher Education Institutions (PTKI) play a pivotal role not only as centers of academic excellence but also as cultural brokers responsible for maintaining Islamic moderation and ethical values in society. However, measuring the socio-religious impact of PTKI graduates in the public sphere remains a significant challenge; current data shows that only 16.6% of PTKI alumni are traceable. This gap is largely due to the absence of a comprehensive tracer study model tailored to the unique socio-religious mission of PTKI. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, this study analyzes tracer study documents and interviews key informants from career centers across Indonesian higher education institutions. The findings reveal that current tracer implementations are often heavily administrative and structurally constrained. Therefore, this study recommends a robust, integrated tracer study management model for PTKI—encompassing clear national policies, institutional support, and synergistic IT data systems. By establishing this infrastructure, PTKI can utilize the tracer study not merely as an administrative tool for accreditation or employment tracking, but as a strategic instrument to accurately measure the socio-religious impact, ethical contributions, and cultural relevance of its graduates in the wider community.
