Abstract

Guntung sub-district has the potential for shrimp farming. There is one pond called the brilliant shrimp pond. This shrimp mine itself can provide job opportunities for the community to create MSMEs regarding the use of shrimp. And with this shrimp farm, the Kukerta Guntung Team made an innovation by using shrimp as a natural artificial flavoring. The Kukerta Guntung Team service activity was held on August 19, 2023 at 10.00 WIB until it was finished. The method used in this service is to explain to the participants about the process of making it so that it becomes a natural flavor.

Abstract

The potential possessed by Teluk Makmur sub-district includes the agricultural and fisheries aspects, where in terms of agriculture it’s in the form of cassava plants and in terms of fisheries it’s in the form of shrimp. This is also related to the livelihoods of the community, the majority of whom are farmers, fishermen and entrepreneurs/MSMEs, so by utilizing the potential of the sub-district and the livelihoods of the community, the Kukerta team decided to hold a demonstration of organic cassava jerky and shrimp nuggets as an alternative for entrepreneurial sales products/ MSMEs. The aim of this demonstration is to motivate MSMEs to continue running and provide various variations of sales products originating from the potential of the sub-district. Community service activities were carried out at the Teluk Makmur Village Hall, Medang Kampai District, Dumai City on Saturday, July 29 2023 at 08.00 WIB until finished. Methods include direct explanations by Kukerta students from Teluk Makmur Village as well as field practice which is directly held in front of the participants present. This service activity took place successfully, which can be said to be due to the response given by all demonstration participants who were truly enthusiastic about everything.

Abstract

Objective: This research aims to investigate the influence of Sustainability Education, Campus Sustainability, and Environmental Sustainability on Entrepreneurship for Sustainability among university students. It also examines the moderating roles of Sustainability Competencies and Awareness of Green Accounting in strengthening or weakening these relationships, providing a more comprehensive understanding of the factors that promote sustainable entrepreneurship in higher education. Method: A quantitative research design with a survey approach was employed. The participants consisted of 753 students from Universitas Riau, Indonesia, selected using a convenience sampling technique. Primary data were collected through an online questionnaire, and the proposed model was analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) with SmartPLS 3.0 to evaluate both direct and moderating effects among the variables. Results: The findings show that Sustainability Education, Sustainability Competencies, and Awareness of Green Accounting positively and significantly influence Entrepreneurship for Sustainability. Sustainability Competencies and Awareness of Green Accounting also strengthen the effects of other variables, while Campus Sustainability and Environmental Sustainability do not have significant direct effects. Moderation analysis indicated positive interactions for Sustainability Education and negative interactions for Campus Sustainability and Environmental Sustainability. Novelty: The novelty lies in integrating Sustainability Competencies and Awareness of Green Accounting as both direct predictors and moderating variables in explaining Entrepreneurship for Sustainability. This model offers a more comprehensive framework for promoting sustainable entrepreneurship in higher education.

Abstract

Education plays an important role in the advancement of science and technology in society. However, many teachers still face obstacles in utilizing mobile devices as interactive learning media, particularly in terms of understanding how to use the media and developing operational skills. This condition limits the variety of learning activities that can be presented in the classroom and reduces the optimal use of technology. This community service program was carried out through training involving 80 teachers from the MGMP IPA Pekanbaru City, focusing on the planning, implementation, and assessment of interactive media–based learning. The training was designed to provide teachers with hands-on experience in operating devices, becoming familiar with essential features, and integrating them into the teaching and learning process. This activity is expected to improve teachers’ understanding and skills in utilizing educational technology, thereby enabling them to be more proficient in using interactive media in the classroom. Consequently, teachers will be better prepared to face the challenges of technological development and contribute to improving the quality of education in schools.

Abstract

The limited variety of learning methods and teaching materials used in environmental management material affects students' 21st-century skills. Current learning is still conventional and ignores the development of 21st-century skills, which include critical thinking, creativity, communication, and collaboration. This research aims to produce a case method-based environmental management module to improve students' 21st-century abilities that is valid, practical, and effective. The research was conducted in June-October 2023 at Riau University. The research sample included students from the marine science study program who took Environmental Science courses. This type of research is development using the ADDIE model. The research instruments used validation sheets, observation sheets, and response questionnaires. The average validation result for the module is 3.64, with a very valid category. The results of the response questionnaire in the limited trial obtained an average score of 3.82 in the very valid category, while the results of the practicality questionnaire received a score of 85% in the practical category. The observation results obtained a score of 85 for the competence category. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that the environmental management-based case [R1] method improves students' 21st-century abilities, it is very valid, practical, and effective to use in learning [R1]Konsistensi penggunaan istilah/penamaan modul

Abstract

Abstrak: Analisis situasi pada guru-guru biologi SMA yang bergabung di MGMP kota Dumai menunjukkan masih sulit menerapkan model pembelajaran pada kurikulum Merdeka. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan guru dalam penerapan model pembelajaran pada kurikulum merdeka. Mitra pengabdian ini yaitu MGMP biologi SMA di kota Dumai yang terdiri dari 11 orang guru. Kegiatan terdiri dari (1) Persiapan; (2) Pelaksanaan; dan (3) Evaluasi. Untuk mengukur ketercapaian tujuan kegiatan yang dilakukan digunakan instrumen soal pretest dan posttest masing-masing 10 soal. Berdasarkan hasil yang diperoleh terjadi peningkatan nilai rerata pretest yang awalnya 45.45 meningkat menjadi 83.64 dengan nilai N Gain 0.70 (tinggi). Pengabdian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa kegiatan pelatihan dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan guru-guru biologi SMA yang bergabung di MGMP kota Dumai dalam menerapkan model pembelajaran pada kurikulum merdeka.Abstract: An analysis of the situation for high school biology teachers who joined the Dumai City MGMP showed that it was still difficult to implement the learning model of Merdeka curriculum. This service activity aimed to increase teachers' knowledge and skills in implementing learning models in the Merdeka curriculum. This submission partner was the MGMP Biology High School in the Dumai city which consisted of 11 teachers. The activities consisted of (1) Preparation; (2) Implementation; and (3) Evaluation. To measure the objectives achievement of the activities carried out, pretest and post est question instruments were used. Based on the results obtained, there was an increase in the average pretest score, which was initially 45.45, increasing to 83.64 with an N Gain value of 0.70 (high). This submission could be concluded that training activities could improve the knowledge and skills of high school biology teachers who join the Dumai City MGMP in implementing the learning model in the Merdeka curriculum.

Abstract

Duku fruit (Lansium domesticum) is a horticultural commodity rich in nutrients and antioxidants; however, its utilization remains largely limited to fresh consumption, making it highly susceptible to postharvest deterioration. One approach to increasing the added value of duku fruit is processing it into yogurt using palm sugar as a natural sweetener. This study aimed to determine the effect of palm sugar concentration on the characteristics of duku fruit yogurt. An experimental method was employed using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of four palm sugar concentrations (0%, 8%, 10%, and 12%) with three replications. The observed parameters included lactic acid content, protein content, fat content, pH value, and organoleptic quality. Data were analyzed using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA), followed by Duncan’s Multiple Range Test (DMRT) at a 5% significance level. The results showed that palm sugar concentration significantly affected the characteristics of duku fruit yogurt. The best treatment was obtained with a palm sugar concentration of 12%, resulting in a lactic acid content of 0.78%, protein content of 6.02%, fat content of 1.91%, and a pH value of 3.52. Furthermore, this treatment achieved the highest level of consumer acceptance based on organoleptic evaluation, indicating its potential to produce high-quality duku fruit yogurt that is well accepted by consumers.

Abstract

Kombucha is a fermented beverage that offers various health benefits and can be produced using different raw materials, including sapodilla fruit (Manilkara zapota), which is rich in carbohydrates and nutrients. This study aimed to analyze the effect of different fermentation periods on the quality of sapodilla kombucha based on chemical and organoleptic parameters. The research employed an experimental method using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of four fermentation treatments, namely 0, 4, 6, and 8 days, with three replications each. The observed parameters included reducing sugar content, total titratable acidity, pH value, antioxidant activity, as well as organoleptic quality and consumer acceptability. The data were analyzed using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) followed by Duncan’s Multiple Range Test (DMRT) at a 5% significance level. The results showed that variations in fermentation duration significantly affected the quality of sapodilla kombucha. The best treatment was obtained after 6 days of fermentation, resulting in a reducing sugar content of 2.57%, total titratable acidity of 0.36%, pH of 3.45, antioxidant activity with an IC50 value of 39.44 ppm, and the highest panelist acceptance score (4.83). This treatment was characterized by a clear brown color, a distinctive acidic kombucha aroma, and a slightly sweet-sour taste.
