Abstract

Guntung sub-district has the potential for shrimp farming. There is one pond called the brilliant shrimp pond. This shrimp mine itself can provide job opportunities for the community to create MSMEs regarding the use of shrimp. And with this shrimp farm, the Kukerta Guntung Team made an innovation by using shrimp as a natural artificial flavoring. The Kukerta Guntung Team service activity was held on August 19, 2023 at 10.00 WIB until it was finished. The method used in this service is to explain to the participants about the process of making it so that it becomes a natural flavor.

Abstract

The potential possessed by Teluk Makmur sub-district includes the agricultural and fisheries aspects, where in terms of agriculture it’s in the form of cassava plants and in terms of fisheries it’s in the form of shrimp. This is also related to the livelihoods of the community, the majority of whom are farmers, fishermen and entrepreneurs/MSMEs, so by utilizing the potential of the sub-district and the livelihoods of the community, the Kukerta team decided to hold a demonstration of organic cassava jerky and shrimp nuggets as an alternative for entrepreneurial sales products/ MSMEs. The aim of this demonstration is to motivate MSMEs to continue running and provide various variations of sales products originating from the potential of the sub-district. Community service activities were carried out at the Teluk Makmur Village Hall, Medang Kampai District, Dumai City on Saturday, July 29 2023 at 08.00 WIB until finished. Methods include direct explanations by Kukerta students from Teluk Makmur Village as well as field practice which is directly held in front of the participants present. This service activity took place successfully, which can be said to be due to the response given by all demonstration participants who were truly enthusiastic about everything.

Abstract

This research develops an interactive digital comic based on Problem Based Learning (PBL) for the topic of Food and the Human Digestive System in Grade XI Biology. Using the ADDIE model, the study was limited to the development phase. The comic, illustrated in Ibis Paint X, arranged in Canva, and published via Flip PDF Professionalwas validated by two biology lecturers and two biology teachers. Limited trials were conducted with 10 biology education students and 20 Grade‑XI learners at SMA Cendana Pekanbaru. Validation and user responses were analysed descriptively. The average expert score was 3.95, while the first and second user trials reached 3.89 and 3.88 on a 4‑point Likert scale, all categorised as 'very good'. The findings indicate that the developed digital comic is highly feasible as a learning medium that visualises abstract digestive concepts, stimulates critical thinking, and increases learner motivation
