Abstract

The number of gender studies related to female heroism varies, however to the best of our knowledge, no bibliometric studies have been conducted to examine research trend related to the construction of female heroism in history. Therefore, the aims of this research to investigate the trend of publication related to the female heroism by utilizing bibliometric analysis which become parameter to evaluate and visualize the worldwide publication focus on the development of gender studies. Herein, we identified 753 research articles in English from Scopus database which were published from 1958 – 2021. According to our findings, we highlighted that the most frequently author keywords are gender, feminism, and hero. Besides, the U.S is the ranking first in citation and publication related to the female heroism studies. The U.S is not only become first country with highest number of publication but also the most cited country and the most active country in international collaboration related with the construction of female heroes. The current information on female heroes publication showed that this field is growing rapidly worldwide as well as international research collaboration. In the future research collaboration in this field still needs to improve the construction of gender in society related to the hero construction.

Abstract

The advent of social media has facilitated convenience in daily living. In addition to exerting a positive influence, it is important to acknowledge that social media also has a detrimental impact. The emergence of negative repercussions is observed, notably through a surge in instances of linguistic crimes that yield detrimental outcomes. Language crimes encompass several forms of linguistic transgressions. This investigation falls within the domain of Forensic Linguistics. The objective of this research was to uncover instances of hate speech inside the comments section directed towards Maudy Ayunda in the G20 Speech Case on the Instagram News Feed. The feminist viewpoint was employed to examine the impact of societal patriarchal norms on the occurrence of hate speech directed towards Maudy Ayunda. This study employed a descriptive analysis methodology, utilizing data sources derived from comments made by netizens. The data was collected by examining the comments section of Instagram, and the author captured screenshots of selected comments for analysis. The results indicate that the dataset contains a total of ten instances of hate speech, which can be further categorized into eight instances of insults, one instance of blasphemy, and one instance of provocation. The study's findings indicate that individuals' opinions exhibit prejudice when it comes to influencing hate speech directed towards a female character.

Abstract

This research discusses an eco-friendly bilingual Ito comic integrated application aimed at promoting Sumatra tourism, emphasizing comedic content that can enhance foreign tourist visitation to locations in North Sumatra. Data was gathered from the 2022 publication of Ito Comic. This comic was produced by a researcher and her esteemed colleagues in the Ito Comic Team. This research seeks to promote tourism in North Sumatra while fostering entrepreneurship through the production of comic books that advocate for eco-friendly initiatives. This study was executed using qualitative research methods. Assessment of market prospects involving 86 females and 37 males aged 10 to 30 years. Data indicated that 33% of respondents expressed a strong interest, while 55% indicated a general interest in reading Si Ito comics, which are produced from recycled paper and feature comic applications available in the market. The results indicate that Si Ito comics can serve as a medium for promoting tourism in North Sumatra to an international audience. In addition to endorsing eco-friendly initiatives, Si Ito's comic books serve as a vehicle for promoting tourism in North Sumatra through bilingual content, functioning as a learning medium for foreign language acquisition.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to assess how much students of grade XI at SMA Negeri 3 Medan can improve their ability in writing argumentative texts by using paired cards as an aid. This study involved thirty-six students in grades XI–1-2. Quantitative and qualitative methods were used in the analysis of learning outcomes. This study was conducted in two cycles, cycle I and cycle II, including planning, action, observation, and reflection in each cycle. Observations during cycle I revealed that students had difficulty in creating argumentative texts, as evidenced by their average score of 79.47 and their classical completeness of only 63.84%. Cycle II showed an increase with an average score of 91.12 and classical completeness of 94.45% after introspection and improvement. The results of the study showed the benefits of paired cards media on students' ability to write argumentative texts, and it was proven that this approach was effective in the process of learning Indonesian.

Abstract

This research aims to improve the argumentative text writing skills of class XI students at SMA Negeri 3 Medan using digital poster media. Many students experience difficulty in composing a good argumentative text structure, using appropriate language, and conveying arguments logically and persuasively. The results of this two-cycle Classroom Action Research (CAR) project showed a significant increase in students' writing skills. The proportion of students who completed their education increased from 33.33% at the beginning of the pre-cycle phase to 58.33% during cycle I, and then to 86.11% at the end of cycle II. These results prove that digital poster media is effective in improving the quality of students' writing, because it motivates them to learn and makes it easier to understand the material. Digital poster media can be used as an effective alternative to improve students' argumentative text writing skills

Abstract

Fenomena hiperealitas telah melingkupi hampir seluruh masyarakat pascamodern dewasa ini. Hiperealitas terjadi ketika realitas bukan lagi merupakan kenyataan yang terjadi di lapangan, melainkan merupakan sesuatu yang dibuat atau simulasi dari fakta yang ada. Fenomena hiperealitas yang sangat dekat dengan masyarakat dapat dilihat dalam berbagai tontonan, salah satunya film-film populer. Film – film populer yang mengandung realitas berlebihan merupakan tontonan yang paling dinantikan oleh sebahagian besar masyarakat. Adapun tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengungkapkan bagaimana hiperealitas diwujudkan di dalam filmfilm populer dunia. Konsep mengenai hiperealitas dalam perspektif pascamodernisme dari Jean Baudrillard akan dipakai dalam untuk menjawab persoalan dalam penelitian. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif analisis dengan pendekatan budaya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Masyarakat postmodern juga lebih menyukai film-film yang berbau hiperealitas dan mengacuhkan nilai-nilai realitas sosial di masyarakat. Hal ini dibuktikan karena banyaknya film-film yang berbau hiperealitas sukses meraih berbagai macam penghargaan dan menjadi ikon perfilman dunia sebagai film terlaris sepanjang masa.

Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan keterampilan menulis teks laporan hasil observasi dengan menggunakan media audiovisual pada peserta didik kelas X-7 SMA Ngeri 3 Medan tahun ajaran 2024/2025 berjumlah 36 peserta didik. Proses dan hasil belajar peserta didik dianalisis dengan teknik kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Penelitian ini terdiri dari tiga siklus yaitu siklus I, siklus II, dan siklus III, dengan setiap siklus melalui tahap perencanaan, tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi. Sebelum memulai siklus I, peneliti melakukan observasi awal terhadap kemampuan peserta didik dalam menulis tekslaporan hasil observasi, dan hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa mereka masih mengalami kesulitan. Pada siklus I, nilai rata-rata peserta didik tercatat sebesar 66,75, dengan tingkat ketuntasan klasikal hanya mencapai 19%. Setelah melakukan refleksi dan perbaikan tindakan, pada siklus II terjadi peningkatan dengan nilai rata-rata mencapai 77,97, dan ketuntasan klasikal naik menjadi 58%. Pada siklus III, rata-rata nilai peserta didik meningkat signifikan menjadi 89,13, dengan ketuntasan klasikal yang mencapai 94,44%. Penggunaan media audiovisual secara signifikan meningkatkan keterampilan menulis teks laporan hasil observasi peserta didik.

Abstract

Penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindak kelas (PTK) yang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan siswa dalam menulis laporan hasil observasi dengan menerapkan model discovery learning. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dalam tiga siklus, di mana setiap siklus melibatkan tahapan perencanaan, tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi. Penelitian ini dilakukan di SMA Negeri 3 Medan dengan melibatkan 36 siswa dari kelas X-9 sebagai subjek. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif dan kualitatif untuk mengelola data, yang diperoleh melalui observasi dan tes siswa. Pada siklus pertama, rata-rata nilai siswa adalah 57,81. Pada siklus kedua, rata-rata nilai meningkat menjadi 74,65. Pada siklus ketiga, nilai rata-rata mencapai 88,8. Setiap siklus menunjukkan kemajuan, dan siklus ketiga dilakukan karena pada siklus kedua nilai siswa masih berada di bawah Kriteria Ketuntasan Minimal (KKM). Hasil akhir menunjukkan bahwa dengan penerapan model discovery learning, kemampuan menulis laporan hasil observasi siswa mengalami peningkatan yang signifikan dan berhasil melampaui KKM.

Abstract

Penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindak kelas (PTK) yang bertujuan untukmeningkatkan kemampuan peserta didik dalam menulisteks arumentasi denganmenggunakan media Bolir (bola gulir) peserta didik kelas XI. Penelitian inidilaksanakan dalam tiga siklus, di mana setiap siklus melibatkan tahapanperencanaan, tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi. Penelitian ini dilakukan di SMANegeri 3 Medan dengan melibatkan 36 peserta didik dari kelas XI-4 sebagai subjek.Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif dan kualitatif untuk mengelola data,yang diperoleh melalui observasi dan tes peserta didik. Pada siklus pertama, rataratanilai peserta didik adalah 64,85. Pada siklus kedua, rata-rata nilai meningkatmenjadi 74,34. Pada siklus ketiga, nilai rata-rata mencapai 87,8. Setiap siklusmenunjukkan kemajuan, dan siklus ketiga dilakukan karena pada siklus kedua masihterdapat peserta didik yang memperoleh nilai di bawah Kriteria Ketuntasan Minimal(KKM). Hasil akhir menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan menulis teks argumentasipeserta didik dengan menggunakan media Bolir(Bola gulir) mengalami peningkatanyang signifikan.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the application of collaborative learning techniques as a strategy to overcome syntactic interference of Indonesian into English in the abstract writing of Teacher Professional Program (PPG) students at FKIP UMSU. Collaborative learning is learning that encourages learners to interact with each other, cooperate, and work together. The approach used was descriptive qualitative research method, involving collaboration techniques between students in focus discussion groups to improve the syntactic structure of the abstract. The research data were taken from 25 student abstracts, before and after the collaborative learning intervention. The analysis showed that collaborative learning significantly reduced syntactic interference such as the absence of to be, the use of inverted phrase patterns, and passive sentence structure errors. In addition, it was found that this approach increased students' linguistic awareness of the fundamental differences between Indonesian and English syntax. This research makes a real contribution to the development of more effective English teaching techniques for professional teacher education, as well as offering practical strategies for improving the academic quality of students in higher education. The implications of this research open up opportunities to expand the application of collaborative learning in other language teaching contexts.
