Abstract

This research entitled "Politeness Strategy Imperative Speech in Meitantei Konan vs Kaitou Kiddo Comic by Aoyama Goushou." Politeness Strategies and Politeness Scale theory proposed by Brown and Levinson were applied to analyze the data. The aim of the research was to identify the use of politeness strategy and causative factors of politeness strategy use in the data source. As a result, three use of politeness strategies were identified; there were bald on record politeness strategy, positive politeness strategy, and negative politeness strategy. The use of politeness strategies were influenced by three factors: power, social scale, and degree of imposition.

Abstract

This research aims to identify types and causes of code switching and code mixing that are applied at Aerotravel Denpasar. This research is analyzed with “Agih and Padan” method in two different languages , Japan and Indonesian. On each of the language, it’s connected therefore found type and cause of factor code switching and code mixing. The theories used are code switching (Wardhaugh, 2006), code mixing (Hoffman, 1991) , and cause code mixing factor (Weinrich, 1979). From 20 data that is analyzed at Aerotravel, it resulted 6 type switching code: 1 methaporical code switching, 5 situational code switching. In addition there are 14 data of switching code consists of 10 lexical code mixing in lexical, 3 phonologic code mixing, and 1 sentence code mixing. The cause factors of switching codes are, topic, solidarity with communicator, social art distance, and motivation. The cause factor of code mixing are low frequency of word, need for synonym, social value, familiarity with another culture, and sufficiency differentiated. This research concludes that the situational code switching is the most used in code switching. Education background is the cause of code mixing existence.

Abstract

The title of this research is “The Usage of Speech Acts and Implicatur in Yougisha X no Kenshin novel by Keigo Higashino“. This research aims to determine the kind of speech acts and the meaning of implicatur contained in Japanese novel and used the Speech Acts Theory by Austin (1962) and Coorporation Maxim Theory by Grice (1975). The results of this research showed that there are four kinds of speech acts in Yougisha X no Kenshin novel by Keigo Higashino, such as locutionary act, illocutionary act, perlocutionary act and those three types of speech acts in one speech. The speech acts that often appears in Yougisha X no Kenshin novel is the illocutionary act. Furthermore, there are three kind of maxim in Yougisha X no Kenshin novel, such as maxim of quantity, maxim of quality, maxim of relation and maxim of manner. Based on the results of this research, the maxim that often appears in Yougisha X no Kenshin novel by Keigo Higashino are maxim of quantity and maxim of relation.

Abstract

The research is titled "Motivation of Kagami Taiga Being a Basketball Player In Manga Kuroko no Basuke created by Tadatoshi Fujimaki". The formulation of the problem in this study examines the motivation and efforts of Kagami Taiga character to realize his dream of becoming a famous basketball player. The theory used in this research is the theory of literary psychology and motivation theory by Petri (in Risnawita, 2010: 83-85). Data collection method used is literature study method with note technique. Data analysis method used is qualitative method with qualitative technique. Method of presentation of data analysis result is informal method. The results of this study indicate that the motivation of the character Kagami Taiga become famous basketball players can be divided into two, namely intrinsic motivation and extrinsic motivation. His intrinsic motivation is his love of basketball, his confidence in his abilities, and the desire to show basketball skills. Extrinsic motivation is the encouragement of his friends who emerged when a friendship relationship in playing basketball (peer group). The effort by Kagami Taiga to be a famous basketball player is to become a core member of the team, winning match training, winning matches, and trying to win the final.

Abstract

The aims of this study is to find out the changes between the short story Yabu no Naka by Akutagawa Ryunosuke into the film Rashomon by Akira Kurosawa in terms of characters and background of the place. This study uses descriptive method of the vehicle switch analysis. Technical analysis of the data used in this study is to read, understand, analyze, compare, analyze changes between the short story Yabu no Naka by Akutagawa Ryunosuke into the film Rashomon by Akira Kurosawa. Results of the discussion in this study indicate that there are changes that occur in the short story Yabu no Naka work of Ryunosuke Akutagawa once into the film Rashomon by Akira Kurosawa. Shape changes that occur are: 1) cutting which includes the reduction of character and background subtraction place there on the short story Yabu no Naka by Akutagawa Ryunosuke 2) the addition that includes the addition of a character and development background in the film Rashomon by Akira Kurosawa.

Abstract

This community service was intended to introduce Japanese language and culture to children who haveprofession as labor at Pasar Badung in Bali. Although they are in school-age, because of economic and otherreasons, they have to give priority to economics activities rather than their own education. This communityservice was held by the staff and students of Japanese Department, Udayana University’s on Friday, August 01st,08th, and 15th, 2014. The location is at Sanggar Belajar Anak Pasar Badung, 4th floor Pasar badung. The methodsused in training Japanese language and culture to them were orientation, drills, and feedback. There were a lotof benefits obtained by the children from this community service activit, they can learn about basic Japaneselanguage as well as Japanese culture via animated cartoons played during lunch breaktime. To the students asthe assistant-instructors of this activity, can learn about real situation language teaching process and handlequestions and overcome difficulties in the process. To the lecturers as the advisers of this activity, they can devotetheir knowledge as an implementation of Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi.

Abstract

Politeness is one important aspect in realizing polite speech. Polite speech is the basic matter for providing services to Japanese tourist by workers who working for tourism industry. The focus of this research is to identify and research the Japanese politeness which is used by speakers of Japanese who works in a travel agency in Bali for providing services to Japanese tourists. The methodology used in this research is interview. The informans were seven of guest relations officer (GRO) staff in a travel agency in Bali. This research is examined by using the six principles of politeness based on Leech’s classification (1983). They are 1) tact maxim; 2) generosity maxim; 3) approbation maxim; 4) modesty maxim; 5) agreement maxim; and 6) sympathy maxim.

Abstract

This study has a purpose to examine wether any social mobility occurred within Zainichi Korean in Japan. Zainichi Korean is a minority group that came to Japan since 1910 when Korean Peninsula was annexed by Japanese. Korean who came to Japan that time worked as daily worker in farming area, ship building, contruction site or other places. After World War II was ended, part of those Korean stayed remain in Japan, until this moment for fourth or fifth generatons. Decades ago, discrimination against Korean immigrants made it difficult for them to earn a decent living, as they struggled to find a decent work. They could only work as day laborers. However, due to various supporting factors such as opportunities and good cooperation, most of these Korean immigrants were able to own a Pachinko business, and even almost controlled the jewelry shop business in Osaka as the center of a settlement of the most Korean immigrants in Japan. This change shows the social mobility of Korean immigrants to a higher socioeconomic class. On the other hand, the factor that hinders the occurrence of mobility is the discriminatory attitude towards Zainichi Korean.

Abstract

This study entitled Tindak tutur asertif dalam drama 5 ji kara 9 ji made karya Shin Hirano. In addition, this study is to find out the perlocutionary effect that was inflicted by the speaker towards the interlocutors through the assertive illocutionary act. Furthermore, this study applied a theory concerning speech act proposed by Searle (1985). In terms of analyzing data, the method and technique of identity method (metode padan) with a pragmatic approach was applied in this jurnal. The result, that there were 19 data which were assertive utterances. The data in the form consists of 4 assertive speech data that serves to suggest, 4 assertive speech data with complaining function, 5 assertive speech data with notification function, 3 data with proud function, and 3 data with reporting function. The form of the perlocutionary effect found in interpersonal conversations is convincing, persuading, inciting, apologizing, expressing thanks, making anger, rejecting requests, mocking, and distrust.

Abstract

The title of this paper is “The Stigma of Ataru in film Ataru “The First love and The Last Kill” by Takeharu Sakurai”. The purpose of this paper is to knowing the symptoms of autisme and stigma of people with autisme. The theory that used in this paper are theory of literary sociology refers to Wellek and Warren (via Wiyatmi (1994)), theory of symptoms of autisme refers to Davison (2006), theory of stigma social refers to Rahman (2013), and theory of semiotic refers to Danesi (2011). Data collected by reference technique, and analysed data using deskriptif analisys method. Presentation of the results of data is analyzed by informal method. The results of this research is show some symptoms of autism in Ataru characterized by; 1) persistence defisit in social interaction; 2) persistent deficits in communication; 3) restricterd, repetitive patterns of behavior, interest or activities. There are three forms of stigma in Ataru are; 1) Labeling; 2) stereotype; 3) separation.
