Abstract

ABSTRACTThe research was conducted in September until November2017 in Parasites and Fish Disease Laboratory and an Experiment of Marine and Fisheries Faculty of Riau Universit. The aim of this research was to know the red blood profile of Pangasius hypophthalmusthat were given turmeric extract (Curcuma domestica V.) and to find out the best dosage of turmeric extract (Curcuma domestica V.) to increase the survival rate ofPangasius hypophthalmus. The method used was an experimental method with a Completely Randomized Design (CRD), with one factor and four treatments.The treatments used as control (P0) (without turmeric extract)P1 (0,5 g/kg of feed were fed with turmeric extract), P2 (0,7 g/kg of feedwere fed with turmeric extract), and P3 (0,9 g/kg of feedwere fed with turmeric extract). The results shown that feeding containing turmeric extract (Curcuma domestica V.) during 60 days of raring daysmay effect to the blood picture of Pangasius hypophtalmus. The best treatments of this research was P2 with total of erythrocyte 1,57-1,76 x106cell/mm3, haemoglobin8,6-8,7 g/dL, hematocrit 24,66% and survival rate 92%.Keywords:          Curcuma domestica V, Pangasius hypophtalmus, Erythrocyte, Haemoglobin, Hematocrit

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe research was conducted from October to December 2014 in the Laboratory of Parasitic Diseases of Fish Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, and Laboratory of organic and natural material of Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Riau, Pekanbaru. The purpose of this study to determine the concentration of noni fruit (Morinda citrifolia L.) that can inhibit the growth of Streptococcus agalactiae and safe dose to be given to the fish. The method that had been used was experimental method with concentration : P0: control, P1 (4%), P2 (5%), P3 (6%), P4 (7%), P5 (8%), P6 (9%), P7 (10%). The results show noni fruit solution to Streptococcus agalactiae sensitive average highest inhibition zone formed on treatment P7 (10%) of 9.83 mm and significantly different between treatments (P <0.05). MIC test of extract methanol Morinda citrifolia L. on treatment P2 (5%) of 78 x 108 cfu/mL. LD50 test solution for tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) extract methanol Morinda citrifolia L. marinated for 24 hours after Reed and Muench analysis contained in the concentration of 1.42%.Key word: Morinda citrifolia L., Streptococcus agalactiae, Sensitivitas, MIC, LD50.

Abstract

This research was conducted on June to August 2014 in the Laboratory of Parasitesand Diseases of Fisheris and Marine Science of Faculty Riau University Pekanbaru. Thepurpose of this research was to determine the structure of (Mystus nemurus) liver that werefed with feed added with Psidium guajava and Andrographis paniculata Ness. The methodused is an experimental using 3 treatments with 3 replicated. The treatment used in thisresearch was Kn (Fishes were not receive any treantent), Kp (Fishes were not receive anytreatment but were infected with A. hydrophila), P1 ( Fishes were fed with feed added with10 g of Psidium guajava and 10 g of Andrographis paniculata Ness and were infected withA. hydrophila (0.1 ml of 108 of A. hydrophila culture), P2 (Fishes were fed with feed addedwith 20 g of Psidium guajava and 20 g of Andrographis paniculata Ness and were infectedwith A. hydrophila (0.1 ml of 108 of A. hydrophila culture), P3 (Fishes were fed with feedadded with 30 g of Psidium guajava and 30 g of Andrographis paniculata Ness and wereinfected with A. hydrophila (0.1 ml of 108 of A. hydrophila culture). Fish organ (liver) wereprocessed for histological studied (formalin fixed, alcohol series, 6 sliced and HE Stained).Result indicate that the structure of liver of the treated fish showing abnormality symptoms,such as necrosis, fatted degeneration and hemorrhage. It can be concluded that feeding offish with 30 g of Psidium guajava and 30 g of Andrographis paniculata Ness is able to treatA. hydrophila infection on Mystus nemurus.Key word : Liver, Mystus nemurus, Psidium guajava, Andrographis paniculata Ness.

Abstract

ABSTRACKVaccines are weakened microorganisms aimed at raising the immunity of fish against a particular disease. The purpose of this research is to find out what is the best dosage of feed containing HydoVac vaccine on Siamese jambal siam fish (Pangasius hypophthalmus). This research has been conducted in April to August 2019 which is housed in the parasitic laboratory and fish disease Faculty of Fisheries and Marine of Riau University. The test fish used is the seed of a Siamese jambal siam fish that measures 8-10 cm by 150 tails.The method used in this research is a method of experimental with the complete random draft (RAL) a factor of 5 levels of treatment and 3 times repeated, the treatment is Kn (feeding without the Hydrovac vaccine and without test challenge with bacteria Aeromonas hydrophila), Kp (giving feed without HydroVac vaccine and test challenge with bacteria Aeromonas Hydrophila), P1 (addition of Hydrovac vaccine on feed at a dose of 6 ml/kg feed), P2 (the addition of Hydrovac vaccine in the feed at a dose of 8 ml/kg feed) and P3 (the addition of Hydrovac vaccine in the feed at a dose of 10 ml/kg feed). Fish maintained for 30 days in the aquarium, Test Challenge on the 31st day using the bacteria Aeromonas hydrophila. The measured parameters are total erythrocytes, hemoglobin concentration, hematocrit value, fatigue, relative percent survival (RPS), and absolute weight growth. Results showed that the addition of HydoVac vaccine on the feed can prevent the disease Motile Aeromonas Septicemia (MAS), judging from the total average eritosit 139x104 cells/mm3, hemoglobin 6,22 g/dL, Hematocrit value 25,11%, life 90%, relative percent survival (RPS) 85,18% and total weight growth 11.76 G. Based on the obtained data can be concluded that the addition of HydroVac vaccine in feed is able to increase the body resistance of the Siamese Jambal siam (Pangasius hypophthalmus).Keywords: Pangasius hyphophthalmus, vaccine HydroVac, Aeromonas hydrophila,

Abstract

ABSTRACTPangasianodon hypophthalmus is a fish with high market demand, but it is very susceptible to attack by the Edwardsiella tarda. One of the natural ingredients that can be used to prevent E.tarda attacks is Muntingia calabura.The research was carried out from 22 December 2019 to 5 February 2020 at the Laboratory of Parasites and Fish Diseases, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine, Riau University. This study aims to determine red blood cells of P. hypophthalmus that were given kersen leaf solution and were challenged with E.tarda. The method used was experiment of Completely Randomized Design (RAL) with one factor, five treatments and three replications. The treatment used Kn: Negative control (feeding without adding kersen and not being challenged with E. tarda), Kp: Positive control (feeding without adding kersen and being challenged with E.tarda), P1: Feeding with the addition kersen of 1 ml/Kg, P2: Feeding with the addition kersen of 2 ml/Kg, P3: Feeding with the addition kersen of 3 ml/Kg. Blood sampling was carried out 3 times, namely at the beginning of the maintenance, the 30 day post-maintenance day and the 15 day after the challenge, the challenge test was carried out on the 31 post-maintenance day.The parameters observed were the number of erythrocytes, hemoglobin levels, hematocrit values, growth in absolute weight, survival rate and water quality. The results shown that feeding containing kersen leaf solution (Muntingia calabura L.) may effect to the red blood cells of Pangasianodon hypophthalmus The best treatments of this research was P3 with total erythrocytes 2.58 x 106 cells/mm3, hemoglobin level 11.57 g/dL, hematocrit value 37.33%, absolute weight growth 16.73 g and survival rate 86.67%. The results of water quality measurements during maintenance are temperatures ranging from 26-30 °C, pH 5.4- 6.6, DO 3.6- 4.0 mg/L, and NH₃ 0.091-0.12 mg/L. Keywords: Pangasianodon hypophthalmus, Kersen Leaf Solution, Erythrocyte, Haemoglobin, Hematocrit

Abstract

Research was conducted from Juni to October 2016, at the labory Examination of Fish Disease, Fisheries and Marine Sciences Faculty of Riau University. The Purpose of this study was to determine the sensitivity of henna leave (L. inermis) as antimicrobial to A. hydrophila, the range of Minimal Inhibitory Concentration (MIC) and the lethal dose (LD50) henna leave (L. inermis) solution against to catfish (Pangasius hypopthalmus) (7-9 cm) by immersion. The research method used doses K : Control (Novobiocin); D1: 100% (10000 ppm); D2: 90% (9000 ppm); D3: 80% (8000 ppm); D4: 70% (7000 ppm); D5: 60% (6000 ppm); D6: 50% (5000 ppm); D7: 40% (4000 ppm); D8: 30% (3000 ppm); D9: 20% (2000 ppm) dan D10: 10% (1000 ppm). The result showed that henna leave solution was effectively to inhibit A. hydrophila bacteri at dose 60% (6000 ppm) with clear zone 9.22 mm and number of colonies 111.00 x 108 cfu/mL. LD50 test was obtained in the dose 5727 ppm among 24 hours.Key words: Henna Leave, Aeromonas hydrophila, antimicrobial, LD50

Abstract

Tanjung Alai Village is in The XIII District of Koto Kampar Riau Province, downstream of The Gulamo River with The Kampar River. The local government of Kampar Regency has develop tourism potential in Tanjung Alai Village. For example it has traction in the form of beautiful natural scenery, the distance from the city of Pekanbaru to Tanjung Alai Village about 2 hours (21 km), the catchment area, the historical site of the Muara Takus Temple, Puncak Pukatan as a climbing and Pulo Simo waterfall area. Tanjung Alai Village too has potential as rubber, oil palm, gambier, chocolate and coconut plantations. Coconut palm has opportunities with high economic value, utilized by community to diversify coconut processed products and support industrial products food preparations. The purpose of the activity is to make Tanjung Alai Village a target village from LPPM University of Riau by doing coconut jelly and candied coconut processing activities. Benefits of activities that can be used as an alternative effort to improve the welfare of the community and entrepreneurship. The method used is a combination of counseling and the practice of using coconut jelly and candied coconut. Strategic target audience in the activities of the target villages there were 25 PKK mothers. The evaluation results of the participants perception stated that it was very agreeable (59,2%) held this activity, received and practiced the training of coconut jelly and candied coconut as an opportunity for alternative income for the community. Economic analysis of processed coconut jelly amounted to IDR. 4.653.600/month and candied coconut is IDR. 2.248.800/month.

Abstract

Bakteri Asam Laktat (BAL) dikenal memiliki senyawa asam laktat dan asam asetat yang dapat digunakan dalam pelet, untuk meningkatkan kualitas pakan dan efisiensi pakan. BAL diketahui mampu meningatkan daya cerna dan sering ditemui pada saluran pencernan ikan. Pengujian dilakukan pada ikan patin yang diberi pakan pelet komersil yang dicampurkan jamu fermentasi. Dosis yang digunakan antaralain; 100 mL/Kg pakan, 200 mL/Kg pakan, 300 mL/Kg pakan. Padat tebar yang digunakan adalah 50 ekor/m3 dan 75 ekor/m3, selanjutnya dilakukan pengamatan selama 60 hari. Isolasi dan pemurnian BAL dari usus masing-masing ikan uji dilakukan dengan meggunakan metode penggoresan (streak kuadan), kemudian dilakukan uji karakterisasi bateri antaralain; uji morfologi, uji biokimia, dan uji Gram. Hasil isolasi dan karakterisasi bakteri menunjukkan bakteri teruji termasuk dalam Gram positif, morfologi koloni berbentuk bulat (circular), tepi rata licin (entire), permukaan cembung (conveks), dan berwarna putih susu. Karakteristik ini menunjukkan bahwa bakteri asam laktat yang ada pada usus ikan patin adalah jenis Lactobacillus sp.
