Abstract

This research aimed to study the effect of brand image, users’ expectation, and users’ satisfaction  as the determinants for users’ loyalties of Samsung Smartphone by applying Partial Least Square–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) method. Data gathered from 100 Samsung smartphone users at Denpasar, Indonesia were collected using questionnaires with 5 Likert’s scales during February–May 2015.  The results showed users’ loyalties was significantly affected by image of Samsung and users’ expectation.  The path coefficients for these causal relationships were 0.533 and -0.230 respectively, demonstrated images’ effect very dominant in forming users’ loyalties.  In addition, products’ image significantly affect users’ satisfaction, but user’s satisfaction did not significantly affect users’ loyalties. The final model had Goodness-of-Fit (GoF) index as much as 0.495 shows the model was sufficient to use for elaborating the relationship between contracts.

Abstract

Hierarchical data are data where objects are clustered in their groups and for each of groups the variable(s) are set at different levels. It is common to analyze hierarchical data without examining individual’s data membership which affects the accuracy of analysis’ results.  Multilevel regression analysis is a method that can be chosen to overcomes issues regarding hierarchical data. This essay is aimed to apply multilevel regression analysis to evaluate score of national examination data from elementary school students at District of South Kuta, Bali.  These data were structured so that students are position as first level and are nested within their classes as the second level.  Furthermore, each of classes is nested within its respective elementary school as third level data. The application of three-level regression for these data set showed student’s score for national final test was significantly affected by teacher educational level of respective class.

Abstract

One of the efforts to develop the rural economy is the establishment of economic institutions such as Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes) which are supported by the role of the local government and are based on the wishes of the village community. This BUMDes is expected to be able to increase market demand based on proper management of the existing village potential. Through cooperative behavior (social capital), synergy and a good entrepreneurial orientation in BUMDes managers and the positive role of the government it is hoped that there will be an increase in BUMDes business performance in Jembrana Regency. The purpose of this study is to comprehensively analyze the role of government and social capital of business managers through entrepreneurial orientation towards BUMDes business performance in Jembrana Regency. The basis of multivariate analysis used is Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). Through a research sample of 90 respondents from BUMDes managers in Jembrana Regency, the results are obtained: (1) social capital and the role of government directly have a positive but not significant effect on business performance, while entrepreneurial orientation has a positive and significant effect on business performance, and (2) social capital and the role of the government in a total positive and significant effect and require full mediation (full mediation) through entrepreneurial orientation to the business performance of BUMDes in Jembrana Regency, Bali.

Abstract

Miopia merupakan gangguan penglihatan yang menyebabkan penderitanya tidak dapat melihat objek yang jauh dengan jelas. Fakta menunjukkan bahwa derajat miopia seseorang dapat mengalami perubahan, baik itu meningkat maupun menurun. Peningkatan derajat miopia berbanding lurus dengan potensi terjangkit gangguan penglihatan lainnya, seperti katarak, ablasi retina, dan glaukoma. Oleh karena itu, peningkatan derajat miopia perlu diwaspadai. Beberapa penelitian sebelumnya hanya memperhitungkan faktor waktu dalam memprediksi perubahan derajat miopia. Padahal, perubahan derajat miopia juga dipengaruhi oleh beberapa faktor yang berkaitan erat dengan identitas dan perilaku individu yang bersangkutan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memprediksi perubahan derajat miopia pada manusia berdasarkan beberapa faktor penyebab miopia. Penelitian ini menggunakan data yang telah di-scaling dengan fungsi keanggotaan fuzzy untuk diolah dengan ANN dalam proses memprediksi perubahan derajat miopia. Dengan arsitektur ANN 6-2-3 yang menggunakan 80 data latih, 20 data uji, dan 1 data prediksi, diperoleh hasil prediksi perubahan derajat miopia mata kanan sebesar 1.1 dioptri, mata kiri 1.2 dioptri dan diakumulasi keduanya adalah 2.3 dioptri, dengan persentase akurasi berturut-turut sebesar 87.79%, 78.47%, dan 83.21%.

Abstract

Weaving industry is one of the creative industries based on local wisdom of Bali, need to be developed with the concept of modern entrepreneurship (orange economy). Regional economic development strategies need to take into account the dynamics of local community life or social capital in addition to the role of government and other physical capital, in order to improve the performance of weaving industry in Jembrana regency, Bali. Based on empirical theory and facts, this study aims to analyze how the direct and indirect influence of the role of government, social capital and business performance on and subjective wellbeing on the business actors of weaving industry in Jembrana, Bali. Through the modeling of the resulting structural equations is studied: (1) the direct influence of the government's role on business performance and subjective well-being; (2) the direct influence of social capital on business performance and subjective wellbeing; (3) the direct impact of business performance on subjective well-being; (4) the indirect and total influence of the government's role on subordinate welfare mediated by business performance; and (5) the indirect and total social capital influences on subjective well-being mediated by business performance. Based on surveys and structured interviews on 70 business actors of weaving industry in Jembrana District, Bali through data analysis techniques using SEM-PLS with the help of Smart PLS 3.0 software, in the business actors weaving industry found that: (1) directly the role of government have positive and significant (2) direct social capital has a positive and significant effect on business performance, but not significant to subjective wellbeing, (3) directly the business performance have a positive and significant effect on subjective wellbeing, (4) the role of the government indirectly has a positive but insignificant effect on subjective wellbeing, but through full mediation of business performance, the role of the government has a positive and significant effect on subjective wellbeing, and (5) social capital indirectly has a positive and significant effect on the subjective achievement, so totally through the full mediation of business performance, social capital has a positive and significant impact on subjective wellbeing although it directly does not have a significant effect.

Abstract

Many methods have been applied in forecasting technics, varied fromStatistical Forecasting Methods (SFM) or Mathematical Modelling and ForecastingMethods (MMFM) to Artificial Neural Methods (ANM). This research aimedto implement and evaluate performance of Artificial Neural Network (ANN), onemethod in ANM group; for forecasting electricity consumption by household inProvince of Bali. This research used electricity consumption data from January2001 to December 2009 as basis for network’s training and validating its result.The actual data from January to December 2010 is used to evaluate the performanceof network prediction. Research shows the Mean Absolute Prediction Error(MAPE) of the ANN’s prediction is 7,56%.

Abstract

Infidelity can have an impact on married life, some examples of which are less harmonious relationships with partners, and divorce. Infidelity is a sexual and emotional activity carried out by one or both individuals bound by a committed relationship. This study aims to determine the causative factors of infidelity and the causative factors that dominate infidelity. The method used in this research is structural equation modeling partial least square (SEM-PLS). The place where this research was conducted is in Denpasar City with a research period of October to November 2021. Data were obtained based on a questionnaire in the form of responses from married residents to the factors causing infidelity. The questionnaires were distributed as many as 130 questionnaires. This study obtained the results that the factors that cause infidelity are sexual factors, emotional factors, love factors, and social factors. Infidelity occurs dominated by emotional factors, namely the lack of attention from partners.

Abstract

Technological advances affect human life, one of which is in the field of trade, namely the existence of an online buying and selling system through e-commerce. The results of research conducted by Ipsos at the end of 2021 on the competition of several e-commerce proved that Shopee is the most popular and widely used e-commerce by the people of Indonesia. This is evident from the quality of Shopee services considered good by consumers so that increase consumer interest and motivation to shop at Shopee and consumer loyalty to Shopee. Therefore, this study aims to determine whether there is an influence of Shopee service quality on shopping motivation and consumer loyalty. To answer the purpose of this study, a hierarchical structural equation modeling (SEM) method was used. Based on the design of the research model and the results of the structural model analysis in the study, it was proven that the service quality construct can explain the shopping motivation construct by 46,3%, while the service quality construct can explain the consumer loyalty construct by 36,5%. Thus, it can be concluded that the quality of service affects shopping motivation and consumer loyalty.
