Abstract

Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan: 1) untuk mengetahui fungsi KKSS sebagai forum komunikasi dalam penyelesaian konflik etnis di kota Palu, 2) faktor-faktor yang mendukung dan menghambat KKSS sebagai forum komunikasi dalam penyelesaian konfli etnis di kota Palu.Pengumpulan data digunakan metode wawancara, observasi, dokumentasi dan diskusi kelompok berfokus. Selanjutnya data yang didapat dianalisis dengan menggunakan teknik analisis deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dalam penyelesaian konflik antara Bugis dan Kaili di kota Palu, KKSS cabang kota Palu menggunakan komunikasi kelompok dan komunikasi antarpribadi. Selain itu peran tokoh masyarakat dalam penyelesaian konflik Bugis dan Kaili juga sangat berpengaruh. Hambatan yang dihadapi KKSS cabang kota Palu dapat diatasi dengan terjalinnya komunikasi yang baik antara pengurus, pemerintah dan tokoh masyarakat Bugis maupun tokoh masyarakat Kaili. Abstract This study aims to: 1) understanding the function of KKSS as a forum for communication in the resolution of ethnic conflicts of Bugis and Kaili in Palu city, 2) understanding the factors that support and inhibit KKSS as a forum of communication in the resolution of ethnic conflicts of Bugis and Kaili in Palu city.Data collection used interviews, observation, documentation and Focus Group Discussion (FGD). The data was analysed using descriptive qualitative analysis techniques.The result showed that in the resolution of the conflict between Bugis and Kaili in Palu, KKSS Palu used group communication and interpersonal commnunication. In addition, the role of community leaders in resolving the conflict of Bugis-Kaili is also very influential. Barriers that is faced by the KKSS of Palu can be overcome by good communications between KKSS committee, local government and community leaders of Bugis and Kaili.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the phenomena of the earthquake, tsunami and liquefaction that occurred in September 2018, which resulted in many people losing their homes, including in the coastal area of Mamboro, North Palu District, Palu City. The purpose of this research is to find out how to design persuasive messages by the Indonesian Non-Governmental Organization Foundation for Community Architects (Arkom). victims of natural disasters in Palu City. This study used a qualitative research method with a case study approach, through in-depth interviews and field observations. The number of informants in this study were 5 people who had been selected through a purposive sampling technique. The results showed that in designing persuasive communication messages carried out by the Non-Governmental Organization Foundation for Community Architecture after the earthquake, tsunami and liquefaction in Mamboro Village, North Palu District, Palu City, it was by using community leaders as media in conveying messages to the communicant, and the messages conveyed by the communicator to the community is designed effectively so that the message can be understood by the communicant during the activity.

Abstract

The aims of this research are: 1) to find out the role of UPT Libraries in digital literacy at Tadulako University. 2) To find out the obstacles to implementing digital literacy at UPT. Tadulako University Library. The type of research used is action research with data analysis techniques, namely by doing data reduction, data presentation, and data validation and drawing conclusions. In the discussion there are 3 UPT roles. Untad Library in digital literacy, namely: 1) As a digital literacy media, 2) as a digital information manager, 3) as a bearer of digital literacy culture. The results of the study explain that the role of the UPT. The Untad Library as an information medium through the proQuest electronic journal, Android-based E-Books, Pocadi services (Digital Reading Corner) and provision of internet service rooms. The role of information management consists of; Processing of the SLIMS database, repository, and Tadulako University e-library. In the role of carrier of literacy culture, UPT Library Untad conducts socialization of digital services, carries out webinars, library exhibition activities. From the results of this role research it has been implemented and found obstacles to role optimization, namely the quality of human resources, budgetary resources, and the lack of policies on digital literacy services. and there are also external constraints, namely the lack of effective librarian communication with users, lack of collaboration between university libraries, ineffective internet network, and also user interest in reading are constraining factors in maximizing the role of the UPT Library in digital literacy at Tadulako University.

Abstract

This article investigates intercultural marriage from the perspective of communication between ethnic Bugis (migrants) and ethnic Kaili (natives) in Palu City, Central Sulawesi. This study seeks to analyze and investigate the cultural principle of sipakatau-sipakalebbi (mutual respect and humanization) among married Bugis and Kaili couples in Palu City. Through an examination of the patterns and practices of intercultural communication and family communication through the lens of Indonesian local culture, this research contributes to the Relational Dialectic Theory using a case study methodology. The empirical findings of this study indicate that the sipakatau culture (mutual humanization) and the sipakalebbi principle (mutual respect), which are the guiding principles and communication strategies of Bugis ethnics, are still adhered to in their interactions with others, even though many of them are married to individuals of different cultural and ethnic backgrounds. This study also found that Bugis and Kaili inter-ethnic marriage partners understand the dynamics and communicate all the dynamics concerning these cultural differences, allowing for the resolution of problems and estrangement, including those that contribute to marital conflict. Due to a lack of comprehension of the sipakatau sipakalebbi principle on the part of Kaili couples, this principle has yet to satisfy Bugis couples in practice.

Abstract

Songkok Recca, a typical cultural product from Bone Regency, South Sulawesi, has great potential in the creative tourism industry. This product not only has historical and symbolic value for the Bugis tribe, but also acts as an important economic resource for local craftsmen, especially in Paccing Village, Mare District. Songkok Recca, resulting from creativity and specialized skills, offers significant economic opportunities for the local community. The government's role in the development and promotion of Songkok Recca is very crucial. The Bone Regency Government has been active in providing guidance and training to craftsmen, as well as promoting this product through various media. Effective public relations and publicity strategies have helped increase recognition and appreciation of Songkok Recca, both at national and international levels. The government is also responsible for maintaining relations with related parties to ensure the continuity and development of this product. Through continued support and a structured marketing strategy, Songkok Recca can continue to develop as a superior regional product that not only strengthens the cultural identity of the Bone community but also makes a significant contribution to the local economy and cultural preservation. This research highlights the importance of synergy between the government and craftsmen in optimizing the potential of Songkok Recca as a main attraction in the creative tourism industry in South Sulawesi.

Abstract

This research aims to find out and understand the Story Telling training program in the Environmental Conservation Campaign implemented by the Tana Sanggamu Foundation in Toaya Village. This training aims to increase media management capacity for environmental advocacy by the community in Toaya Village, Sindue District, Donggala Regency, Central Sulawesi. Efforts to develop community capacity are expected to be a sustainable process to increase community awareness, especially youth, of the importance of preserving the environment. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach and is carried out in the form of Participatory Action Research. The results of this research show that the Tana Sanggamu Foundation is conducting story telling training as an environmental conservation campaign technique by utilizing village youth's interest in social media, films and games as learning and training media. Delivery of material using these three training media applies persuasive techniques including dissonance, integration, association, giving rewards, generating fear, obedience and red-herring.

Abstract

Fandom NCTzen merupakan nama penggemar dari boygrup K-Pop NCT yang berasal dari Korea Selatan, memiliki daya tarik sehingga membentuk penggemar. Sekelompok penggemar melakukan aktivitas dalam skala global, tanpa batasan dalam fan account. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui aktivitas mendukung apa saja yang dilakukan oleh pengguna fandom NCT dimedia sosial X. Metode yang digunakan penelitian ini adalah kualitatif menggunakan pendekatan netnografi. Teori yang digunakan konvergensi simbolik, istilah yang digunakan untuk menimbulkan fantasi akibat dari aktivitas bermedia social X. Hasil penelitian ini bahwa aktivitas yang biasa dilakukan fan account ialah memberikan voting, streaming, membeli marchendise, membagikan freebies dan mengadakan give away dalam perayaan ulang tahun member.

Abstract

Proses interaksi yang dilakukan oleh setiap manusia, seiring bertambahnya usia dan pengalaman hidup, umumnya terjadi proses relationship yang di dalamnya terdapat komitmen sehingga mampu dibuktikan dalam hubungan pernikahan baik sah berdasarkan agama dan hukum yang berlaku di negara Indonesia. Hidup bersama dengan orang yang dicintai dan mendapatkan keturunan adalah impian dari setiap orang. Terbentuknya keluarga kecil yang bahagia menandakan bahwa antar suami dan istri mampu menjalankan pernikahan dengan proses manajamen yang baik. Menurut Brehm (1992) mengatakan bahwa pernikahan merupakan ekspresi puncak dari sebuah hubungan intim dan janji untuk bersama seumur hidup (dalam Wisnuwardhani & Mashoedi, 2012: 90). Pada dasarnya,bagian terpenting dalam sebuah pernikahan yaitu membentuk sebuah keluarga bahagia yang di dalamnya terdapat suami, istri dan anak baik berdasarkan pada ikatan darah atau melalui proses adopsi. Berdasarkan realita yang terjadi saat ini, meskipun telah melalui tahap pranata sosial untuk mencapai level pernikahan, namun banyak ditemukan pasangan suami istri yang mengalami konflik rumah tangga disebabkan adanya tindakan perselingkuhan. Artinya bahwa komitmen yang sudah disepakati secara bersama-sama dan aturan yang berasal dari agama dilanggar dengan penuh kesadaran meskipun telah dipahami bahwa tindakan yang dilakukan adalah sebuah kesalahan. Pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi dan memberikan gambaran terkait dengan strategi komunikasi antarpribadi dalam mencegah terjadinya tindakan perselingkuhan pada hubungan rumah tangga suami dan istri di Kabupaten Donggala. Adapun sasaran pada pengabdian yakni ibu Pembinaan Kesejahteraan Keluarga (PKK) desa Nupabomba Kecamatan Tanantovea.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of government public relations in utilizing digital media to build a positive image of the Provincial Government of Central Sulawesi. In the digital era, government public relations hold a strategic responsibility to deliver accurate, transparent, and relevant information to the public. However, various obstacles such as limited human resource capacity, the spread of misinformation, and digital infrastructure disparities often reduce the effectiveness of communication. This study employs a qualitative approach with a case study method, involving in-depth interviews, digital media content analysis, and observations of public relations practices in the region. The findings reveal that the use of digital media by the public relations of the Provincial Government of Central Sulawesi still faces challenges in terms of consistency in information delivery and issue management on social media. Nevertheless, there is significant potential to improve the government’s image through better-planned, collaborative, and inclusive digital communication strategies. This study provides recommendations to enhance human resource capacity, expand digital infrastructure reach, and strengthen response mechanisms to negative information on social media. These efforts are expected to enable public relations to effectively build trust and foster a harmonious relationship between the government and the public

Abstract

This study examines the forms of intercultural communication harmony practiced by Bugis migrants in building social networks within the oil palm plantation areas of Baras District, Pasangkayu Regency. The research is significant because Bugis migrants, known for their long-standing migratory tradition (sompe’) and cultural values of siri’ na pacce, contribute to multicultural integration in plantation-based communities. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and focus group discussions, and analyzed with the Miles and Huberman model comprising data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that intercultural harmony is expressed through openness in social interactions, solidarity in community life, tolerance among religious groups, interethnic marriages, inclusive economic cooperation in plantation work, and the preservation of cultural identity alongside adaptation. These practices strengthen social networks across ethnic boundaries and minimize potential conflicts in a multicultural environment. The study underscores the importance of intercultural communication as a foundation for social cohesion in plural societies. It also provides practical insights for policymakers and community leaders in managing diversity within plantation contexts. The originality of this research lies in its focus on the intercultural communication harmony of Bugis migrants in plantation-based communities, a perspective that has received limited scholarly attention.
