Abstract

Kajian tentang hubungan agama Islam dan politik di dunia Islam adalah salah satu tema kajian yang tidak pernah usai dan mencapai kata mufakat pada ranah final. Berbagai macam teori telah dimunculkan dan ditawarkan oleh kalangan cendikiawan Islam—baik itu masa klasik maupun modern; Bahkan, kaum intelektual Barat, walaupun tidak mempercayai doktrin ajaran Islam, juga ikut terlibat dalam mencari formula baru tentang bagaimana seharusnya hubungan antara agama Islam dan politik. Artikel ini mencoba menelaah pandangan politik Abū Al-A’la> Al-Mawdu>di>, seorang pemikir politik Muslim dari Pakistan, yang menawarkan suatu sintesa untuk mendamaikan faham demokrasi sekuler Barat dengan konsep teokrasi Islam.

Abstract

This article is a content research on the book “Pesan-pesan al-Qur’an Mencoba Mengerti Intisari Kitab Suci” (The messages of Qur’an: an effort to understand the nutshell of Sacred Book) by Djohan Effendi (2012). It overviews the background and motive of writing this book (Pesan-pesan al-Qur’an/PPQ), Qur’anic exegesis methodology and presentation and also reveals the advantages and shortcomings of PPQ. PPQ is Djohan Effendi’s effort to comprehend the messages of Qur’an. PPQ is not aimed at academic interest, so PPQ is free form the established methodology of Qur’anic exegesis. PPQ contains the global interpretation of 114 surahs of Qur’an, appendix on thematics interpretation and poetical rendering of al-Fatihah and Juz Amma.  The exegisis by reason is used in PPQ and ijmali (global) and maudu’i (thematic) are the method of presentation of PPQ. In addition, PPQ has moral-ethics (adabi) and ijtima’i (society/community) by stressing to the substantial and universal values.  PPQ is completed with the poems in every closing of interpreting Surah and attached the poetical translation of Juz Amma and Surah al-Fatihah. Regardless of its uniqueness and lacks, PPQ as a part of Indonesia Qur’anic interpretation deserves to be appreciated.

Abstract

This study discusses the relevance of Islamic political principles proposed by Al-Mawardi in Al-Ahkam As-Sulthaniyyah for the context of the current Indonesian government and financial management. The method used in this study is a literature review with a heuristic analysis approach. The findings of this study indicate that al-Mawardi's thoughts in al-Ahkam al-Sulthaniyyah provide the philosophical foundations include the concepts of al-'Adl (justice), Amanah (moral responsibility), and maslahah (public welfare). Al-Mawardi's principles are in line with the Indonesian government system that prioritizes morality, people's welfare, and wise state governance. President Prabowo Subianto's Asta Cita vision, reflected in economic development, strengthening human resources, international cooperation, and industrial and infrastructure development, reflects Islamic moral values in realizing "Golden Indonesia 2045”.
