Abstract

This study aims to develop and test the effectiveness of client-server-based learning media for Object-Oriented Programming courses in the Informatics Study Program at PGRI University of West Sumatra. The research employed the Research and Development method with the ADDIE model. Validation was conducted by media and material experts, with media validation reaching 77.55% (valid category) and material validation 83.90% (highly valid category). Practicality testing by lecturers showed a practicality level of 87.00% and by students 86.31% (very practical category). Learning effectiveness was measured through learning outcome tests with a classical completeness rate of 96.67% and an N-Gain value of 0.687 (medium category). The results indicate that the developed client-server-based learning media is valid, practical, and effective for distance learning in Object-Oriented Programming courses.

Abstract

The rapid growth of technology-based startups demands adaptive and innovative leadership patterns that significantly influence human resource development. This study aims to examine the effect of leadership management in startups on workforce development within Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET). A quantitative approach with an explanatory research design was employed, involving startup managers and TVET stakeholders as respondents. Data were collected through a structured questionnaire and analyzed using Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The results indicate that startup leadership management has a positive and significant effect on TVET workforce development, with a path coefficient of 0.79, a t-statistic of 11.42, and a p-value of < 0.001. The coefficient of determination (R² = 0.63) shows that 63% of the variance in TVET workforce development is explained by startup leadership constructs. Specifically, agile leadership (β = 0.31) and digital leadership (β = 0.28) provide the most dominant contributions, compared to transformational leadership (β = 0.21) and entrepreneurial leadership (β = 0.19).These findings confirm that startup leadership practices are highly relevant for integration into TVET systems to enhance technical and non-technical competencies, employability skills, and graduates’ readiness to face the dynamic demands of startup-driven and digital industries. This study contributes theoretically to the integration of leadership and vocational education literature and offers practical implications for TVET managers and policymakers in designing adaptive and sustainable workforce development strategies.

Abstract

Vocational High Schools play a strategic role in preparing competent human resources aligned with industry demands. The quality of vocational education is closely related to teacher performance, which is influenced by leadership practices implemented by school principals. Transformational leadership is considered a relevant leadership approach in educational management because it emphasizes inspirational vision, intellectual stimulation, individualized consideration, and motivational influence. However, previous empirical findings regarding the relationship between transformational leadership and teacher performance show varying results, creating the need for a comprehensive synthesis. This study aims to analyze the effect of transformational leadership on teacher performance in Vocational High Schools through a literature review approach. Relevant scientific articles published between 2017 and 2026 were collected from Google Scholar and ScienceDirect using keywords related to transformational leadership and teacher performance in Vocational High Schools. After screening and applying inclusion criteria, the selected articles were analyzed descriptively and comparatively. The findings indicate that most studies report a positive and significant relationship between transformational leadership and teacher performance, either directly or indirectly through mediating variables such as work motivation, organizational commitment, and job satisfaction. Overall, transformational leadership contributes to improving teacher effectiveness and the quality of vocational education.
