Abstract

A learning trajectory offers a description of key aspects in planning mathematics learning. It also helps teachers follow and interpret students’ mathematical thinking, so that learning can be developed in accordance with the characteristics of students, and even become a tool for teachers to develop curriculum. There are three main components of learning trajectory: learning goals, learning activities, and hypothetical learning processes. In this article, we constructed a learning trajectory of the quadratic inequality. This qualitative study used didactical design research with 105 grade 10 students as the participants. In the prospective analysis step, didactic design, learning obstacle, and quadratic inequality system were analyzed. Based on the results of this analysis, we constructed hypothetical learning trajectories in the form of didactical design. Then, hyphothetical learning trajectories were implemented in the learning process. Student’s responses were analyzed qualitatively. Results of this analysis were used to revise the learning trajectory in order to obtain alternative trajectory learning outcomes of theoretical and empirical analysis. Finally, this article offers an alternative learning trajectory of quadratic inequalities that are different from the existing learning trajectories presented in the current textbook. The learning trajectory that is offered is the learning quadratic inequality which starts from the function approach. BAHASA INDONESIA ABSTRACT: Learning trajectory (LT) menawarkan sebuah deskripsi akan aspek kunci dalam perencanaan pembelajaran matematika. LT juga membantu guru belajar dalam mengikuti dan menginterpretasi cara berpikir matematisnya siswa, sehingga pembelajaran dapat dikembangkan sesuai dengan karateristik siswa, bahkan menjadi alat bagi guru untuk mengembangkan kurikulum.  Ada tiga komponen utama dari learning trajectory, yaitu: tujuan pembelajaran (learning goals), kegiatan pembelajaran (learning activities) dan hipotesis proses belajar siswa (hypothetical learning process). Dalam artikel ini akan dikonstruksi sebuah LT pertidaksamaan kuadrat. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan didactical design research. Adapun partisipan sebanyak 105 siswa kelas X. Pada awal penelitian ini, dilakukan analisis propektif yaitu analisis atas materi pertidaksamaan kuadrat, hambatan belajar dan tingkat berpikir siswa. Kemudian dari hasil analisis ini disusunlah Hipotetical Learning Trajectories yang berupa desain didaktis. Desain didaktis berdasarkan Hypotetical Learning Trajectories ini diimplementasikan dalam pembelajaran. Respon siswa dianalisis secara kualitatif. Hasil analisis ini digunakan untuk merevisi Learning Trajectory, sehingga diperoleh Learning Trajectory alternatif hasil analisis teoritik dan empirik. Akhirnya, artikel ini menawarkan sebuah alternatif learning trajectory pertidaksamaan kuadrat yang berbeda dengan learning trajectories yang ada pada buku pelajaran sekarang. Learning trajectory yang ditawarkan adalah pembelajaran pertidaksamaan yang dimulai dengan pendekatan fungsi.

Abstract

Geometry is a branch of science in mathematics and a course taken by students of mathematics education. Based on students' final exam scores, results were not optimal with several types of errors detected. This study aimed at identify student mistakes in solving geometry problems on the topic of solid figures. The subjects of this study were mathematics education students in the even semester of the 2018/2019 academic year at Universitas Pelita Harapan in Tangerang. The type of research was a qualitative descriptive study. The data collection technique used was a test. The results showed that students' errors in solving geometry problems were concept errors, calculation errors, and a lack of accuracy because they were in a hurry.BAHASA INDONESIA ABSTRACT: Geometri merupakan salah satu cabang ilmu dalam matematika dan merupakan matakuliah yang wajib diikuti oleh mahasiswa program studi pendidikan matematika. Berdasarkan nilai ujian akhir semester mahasiswa didapatkan hasilnya masih kurang maksimal, hal ini memungkinkan terdapat beberapa tipe kesalahan jawaban dari mahasiswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi kesalahan mahasiswa dalam menyelesaikan soal UAS geometri pada topik bangun ruang. Subjek penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa pendidikan matematika semester genap Universitas Pelita Harapan Tangerang tahun akademik 2018/2019. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah tes. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kesalahan mahasiswa dalam menyelesaikan soal geometri adalah kesalahan konsep, kesalahan hitung, dan kurang teliti karena terburu-buru.

Abstract

The implementation of the 2013 curriculum aims to improve the quality of Indonesian education by enabling students to develop competencies. Therefore, it is expected that students actively learn in the classroom so that effective learning processes are created to develop student competencies.  However, based on facts found in grade 12 at one of the Christian schools in Cibubur, students were not actively studying in class. Christian teachers see this gap as something that can be corrected with competencies they can guide. God calls Christian teachers to guide students who have fallen into sin to return to God's path with the proper competence, direction, and purpose. Thus, the purpose of this paper is to present the role of a Christian teacher as a guide to learning for grade 12 students in one Christian school, as well as the resulting impact. The results of this paper about the role of Christian teachers as guides, who view students as precious and personal creations before the Lord, show that teachers are able to guide according to the needs of students using the Discovery Learning model and supporting methods such as group discussion methods, lectures, FAQs, and games. Suggestions aimed at Christian teachers may provide learning guidance for using the Discovery Learning model and its supporting methods.BAHASA INDONESIA ABSTRAK: Penerapan kurikulum 2013 bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan Indonesia dengan cara memampukan siswa untuk mengembangkan kompetensi. Oleh karena itu, diharapkan siswa bisa aktif belajar di kelas sehingga dapat diciptakan proses pembelajaran yang efektif untuk mengembangkan kompetensi siswa. Namun, berdasarkan fakta yang ditemukan di kelas XII pada salah satu sekolah Kristen di Cibubur, ditemukan siswa yang masih kurang aktif belajar di kelas. Guru Kristen melihat kesenjangan ini sebagai hal yang harus diperbaiki dengan kompetensi yang dimilikinya sebagai penuntun. Karena Tuhan memanggil guru Kristen untuk menuntun siswa yang telah jatuh dalam dosa supaya kembali ke jalan Tuhan, dengan kompetensi, arah, dan tujuan yang benar. Maka, tujuan penulisan paper ini adalah memaparkan peran guru Kristen sebagai penuntun belajar siswa kelas XII di satu sekolah Kristen, serta dampak yang dihasilkan. Hasil paper ini mengenai peran guru Kristen sebagai penuntun yang memandang siswa sebagai ciptaan sekaligus pribadi yang berharga di hadapan Tuhan sehingga guru mampu menuntun sesuai dengan kebutuhan siswa, menggunakan model pembelajaran Discovery Learning serta metode pendukungnya seperti metode diskusi kelompok, ceramah, tanya jawab, dan permainan. Saran ditujukan kepada guru Kristen kiranya dapat memberikan tuntunan belajar yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan salah satunya menggunakan model Discovery Learning serta metode pendukungnya.

Abstract

In line with constructivism theory, prior knowledge is important in learning. Prior knowledge is the basis for a person being able to accept any new information that has been given. The background of this paper is the recognition that a number of students have difficulty learning mathematics. The results of observations when teaching grade 12 students about the matrix show that students still have difficulty in performing addition and subtraction arithmetic operations. This fact shows that there is a problem in students' prior knowledge. This paper aims to see the importance of the position of initial knowledge in student learning difficulties. This paper is a literature review. The results obtained show that initial knowledge is a source of student learning difficulties. This can be seen from the nature of mathematics and the thinking process of students in learning mathematics. From the nature of mathematics, according to constructivism, knowledge is acquired in a progressive constructive manner. Difficulties will arise when the prior knowledge is epistemologically different from the new knowledge. From the thinking process, students use their prior knowledge to construct new knowledge or respond to new information. The implication is that learning difficulties will arise when there is a conflict between prior knowledge and new knowledge.BAHASA INDONESIA ABSTRACT: Sejalan dengan teori konstruktivisme, pengetahuan awal (prior knowledge) merupakan hal penting dalam pembelajaran.  Pengetahuan awal menjadi landasan bagi seseorang untuk mampu menerima informasi baru yang telah diberikan. Hal yang melatar belakangi tulisan ini adalah banyaknya anak didik yang kesulitan belajar matematika. Hasil observasi ketika mengajar SMA kelas XII tentang matriks menunjukkan siswa masih kesulitan dalam melakukan operasi hitung penjumlahan dan pengurangan. Hal tersebut menunjukkan ada masalah dalam pengetahuan awal siswa. Tujuan penulisan adalah untuk melihat pentingnya posisi pengetahuan awal dalam kesulitan belajar siswa. Tulisan ini merupakan kajian literatur. Hasil yang diperoleh menunjukkan pengetahuan awal merupakan sumber kesulitan belajar siswa. Hal ini dilihat dari natur matematika dan proses berpikir siswa dalam belajar matematika. Dari natur matematika, menurut teori konstruktivisme, pengetahuan diperoleh secara konstruktif progresif. Implikasinya, kesulitan akan muncul ketika secara epistemology pengetahuan awal berbeda dengan pengetahuan yang akan dipelajari. Dari proses berpikir, dalam membentuk pengetahuan baru atau merespon informasi yang dihadapkan padanya, siswa menggunakan pengetahuan awalnya. Implikasinya, kesulitan belajar akan muncul ketika terjadi konflik antara pengetahuan awal dengan pengetahuan yang akan dipelajari.

Abstract

Discipline is still a problem in the world of education. In addition, disciplinary enforcement still uses punishment. This deviant behavior of students is a result of humanity's fall into sin. Sin turns people away from God and they choose to become God's rebels. Therefore, humans become more likely to disobey. Having good discipline is the expectation that every teacher wants for their students. However, the teacher prefers to make his students obedient to him but it is not always accompanied by a growing awareness to be disciplined in the hearts of students. One form of application that encourages discipline with compliance is positive discipline. The author wants to analyze the application of positive discipline through a Christian perspective. Positive discipline is a disciplined approach based on trust between teachers and students. The analysis shows that the application of positive discipline in accordance with Christian principles has not been able to stop indiscipline. This is evident from the responses of students who are still repeating their actions even though positive discipline has been applied in learning. One of the forms of applying positive discipline that is in line with Christianity's view is one of the results of awareness and changes in student attitudes not because of dialogue but because of the touch of the Holy Spirit. In its application, it must always rely on the intervention of the Holy Spirit.BAHASA INDONESIA ABSTRACT: Ketidakdisiplinan masih menjadi permasalahan di dalam dunia pendidikan. Selain itu penegakkan kedisiplinan masih menggunakan hukuman. Perilaku menyimpang siswa ini merupakan akibat dari kejatuhan manusia ke dalam dosa. Dosa membuat manusia menjadi berpaling dan memilih untuk menjadi pemberontak Allah. Oleh sebab itu, manusia menjadi lebih menyukai melakukan ketidaktaatan. Memiliki kedisiplinan yang baik merupakan harapan yang setiap guru inginkan terhadap siswanya. Akan tetapi, guru lebih suka membuat siswanya patuh kepadanya tetapi tidak diiringi dengan menumbuhkan kesadaran untuk berdisiplin dalam hati siswa. Salah satu bentuk penerapan yang mendorong kedisiplinan dengan kepatuhan adalah disiplin positif. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menganalisis penerapan disiplin positif melalui perspektif Kristen. Disiplin positif merupakan sebuah pendekatan disiplin yang berdasarkan kepada rasa kepercayaan antara guru dan siswa. Hasil analisis menunjukkan penerapan disiplin positif sudah sesuai dengan prinsip kekristenan namun belum dapat menghentikan ketidakdisiplinan. Hal ini terbukti dari respon siswa yang masih mengulangi perbuatannya meskipun telah diterapkan disiplin positif di dalam pembelajaran. Bentuk penerapan disiplin positif yang sesuai dengan pandangan Kekristenan salah satunya adalah hasil dari kesadaran dan perubahan sikap siswa bukan karena adanya dialog tetapi karena jamahan Roh Kudus. Seharusnya dalam penerapannya harus selalu mengandalkan campur tangan Roh Kudus.

Abstract

Student learning activeness is very important in the learning process. However, student learning activeness remains a problem at many schools. Students observed by researchers during the field practice programme had low activeness. Based on the results of the total percentage of student learning activeness observation sheets, 37% of the group belongs in the less active category. Students' learning activeness is influenced by the approach used by the teacher during the learning process. As an implementation of the independent learning concept, the Among learning approach provides freedom and space for students to be actively involved. The freedom concept certainly does not deviate from the correct understanding of a Christian perspective, which is freedom under the authority of God. Therefore, to overcome this problem, the researcher applied the Among system. The purpose of this paper is to determine the activeness of student learning in online informatics learning using the Among system. This research is descriptive qualitative research. The results showed that the students' learning activeness having implemented the Among system had increased. The researcher suggests that teachers need to first identify students’ existent situations and conditions before implementing the Among system due to its non-suitability in any context.BAHASA INDONESIA ABSTRACT: Keaktifan belajar siswa merupakan hal yang sangat penting dalam proses pembelajaran. Namun, keaktifan belajar siswa masih menjadi sebuah permasalahan di sekolah. Siswa yang diobservasi oleh peneliti saat menjalani program praktek lapangan memiliki keaktifan yang rendah. Berdasarkan hasil total persentase lembar observasi keaktifan belajar siswa yaitu sebesar 37% tergolong pada kategori kurang aktif. Pada dasarnya sikap keaktifan belajar siswa dipengaruhi oleh pendekatan yang digunakan oleh guru dalam pembelajaran. Pendekatan pembelajaran dengan sistem among memberikan kebebasan maupun ruang bagi siswa untuk terlibat aktif dalam pembelajaran. Kebebasan yang ada tentunya tidak menyimpang dari pemahaman yang benar menurut perspektif Kristen, yaitu kebebasan yang tetap berada di bawah otoritas Allah. Oleh karena itu untuk mengatasi permasalahan ini peneliti menerapkan sistem among. Tujuan penulisan paper ini yaitu untuk mengetahui keaktifan belajar siswa pada pembelajaran informatika yang dilakukan secara daring dengan menggunakan sistem among. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keaktifan belajar siswa setelah penerapan sistem among mengalami peningkatan. Saran yang diberikan oleh peneliti sebelum menerapkan sistem among guru perlu terlebih dahulu mengidentifikasi situasi dan kondisi yang ada pada siswa. Sebab tidak semua permasalahan yang ada di dalam kelas dapat terselesaikan dengan menerapkan sistem among.

Abstract

Educational research is very important in improving the quality of learning practices. The purpose of this research is to describe and analyze pre-service teachers' perspectives on educational research. This research is a quantitative research using survey method in collecting data. Data was collected from 39 pre-service secondary teachers, consisting of majors in mathematics education and physics education. The data collection instrument used was a questionnaire. Data analysis consisted of descriptive statistics and Pearson moment-product correlation test. The results showed that pre-service teachers' perspectives on the value of educational research were in the high category. In addition, the results of the study show that there is a significant positive correlation between the value of pre-service teachers' educational research aspects and the teacher's own involvement in research. Abstract

Vector is an important concept in mathematics. Pre-service mathematics teachers explore vector concepts in several courses. This concept is also related to various concepts in mathematics. The purpose of this study is to describe the pre-service mathematics teachers' understanding of vectors. This research is non-experimental research with a descriptive design. 67 pre-service mathematics teachers are participants in this study. Data were collected by survey method using the Test of Understanding of Vector instrument. Data analysis was carried out quantitatively using descriptive and inferential statistics. The descriptive statistics used are the average, maximum, minimum, and standard deviation. The inferential statistics used are t-test statistics. The results showed that in general, the pre-service mathematics teachers' understanding of vectors was in the medium category. The results also show that there is no difference in understanding of vectors between male and female pre-service mathematics teachers. However, in the two concepts, namely "unit vector" and "scalar multiplication" there are significant differences between males and females.
