Abstract

Research on title resistence test of rubber plant genotype by Corynespora cassiicola andColletotrichum gloeosporioides diseases at Sungei Putih budstock rubber plantation. This researchwas to study to determine resistence of rubber plant genotype against C. cassiicola andC. gloeosporioides at budstock rubber plantation. This research had been conducted atexperimental field of Sungei Putih Rubber Research Center in May-July 2013 using split plotdesign with two factor, i.e genotype plants (930, 135, 38, 51, 65, 100, 108, 118, 222, 223, 227, and374) and diseases type (no disease, C. cassiicola and C. gloeosporioides). The results showed thatthe fastest incubation periode (3 days) contained on genotype 223 and 930, the slowest (6 days) ongenotype 222. The lowest disease severity (20,99%) of C. cassiicola treatment contained ongenotype 100 and the highest (33,33%) was at genotype 65. The lowest disease severity (21,61%)of C. gloeosporioides treatment contained on genotype 222 and the highest (57,41%) was ongenotype 223. The highest total spot (58,56 spots) contained on combination treatment of genotype223 with C. gloeosporioides disease and the lowest (1,70 spots) on combination treatment ofgenotype 100 with C. cassiicola disease.Key Words: Genotype plant rubber, Corynespora cassiicola, Colletotrichum gloeosporioides

Abstract

Desy siburian “The effect of various insecticide to the pest of pod Riptortus linearis F. (Hemiptera:Alydidae) and Etiella zinckenella Treit. (Lepidoptera: Pyralidae) towards soybeans (Glycine maxL.)” that supervised by Ir. Yuswani Pangestingsih, MS. and Ir. Lahmuddin Lubis, MP. Thisresearch was held in Desa Telaga Sari Kecamatan Tanjung Morawa Kabupaten Deli Serdang inJuly to September 2013. The method that used was non factorial “Completely Randomized BlockDesign” consist of 7 treatment and 3 repeatable. The treatment which tested were A0 (control), A1(Annona muricata seeds), A2 (Morinda citrifolia seeds), A3 (Jatropha curcas seeds), A4(chlorfiripos insecticide), A5 (agens Bacillus thurngiensis), and A6 (agens Beauveria bassiana).The parameter which were attack percentage of Riptortus linearis and Etiella zinckenella, thepopulation of nimfa Riptortus linearis and larva Etiella zinckenella, and also the production. Theresearch resulted that, the all of insecticide significantly effected the pest of pod Riptortus linearisand Etiella zinckenella. The best treatment to the Riptortus linearis is A2 (Morinda citrifolia seeds200 gr/l) that the lowest attack percentage (10.00%) and Etiella zinckenella is A4 (chlorfiriposinsecticide) that the lowest attack percentage (6,95).Keywords: Riptortus linearis, Etiella zinckenella, insecticide.

Abstract

Rotua Maryance Gultom, “The Influenced some Insecticide on Soybean (Glycine max (L) Merril.)Pest Lamprosema indicata F. and Spodoptera litura F. in the field”. The objectives of the researchwere to study the effect of some Insecticide to Soybean (Glycine max (L) Merril.) pest Lamprosemaindicata F. dan Spodoptera litura F. The research was held at Telaga Sari Village, DevelopmentTanjung Morawa, Medan, North Sumatera from July until September 2013. The method used NonFactorial Randomized Group Design, consist of 7 treatments and 3 repetable that is control, papayaseed, indian mulberry seed seed, mahogany seed, Bacillus thuringiensis, Beauveriabassiana, and dimetoat. The results showed that the observated in 43 days after growth, dimetoatinsecticide and papaya seed insecticide effectived aplicable to Lamprosema indicata F. (12.98%)and (23.37%), with total larvae 1.34 dan 1.44. but for Spodoptera litura F. mahogany seedinsecticide is effectived (29.42%).Keywords : Soybean, Lamprosema indicata, Spodoptera litura

Abstract

Research on title The Effectivity of Some Entomopathogenic on the Larvae Oryctes rhinoceros L.(Coleoptera: Scarabaeidae) in the Laboratory". The objective of this research was to know theeffectifity of entomopathogenic (Bacillus thuringiensis, Beauveria bassiana, and Metarhiziumanisopliae) with different level of concentration. The research was conducted at the InsectLaboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Sumatera Utara, From July to August 2013, usinga randomized complete design (RAL) non factorial with ten treatments (control, B. thuringiensis 25,50, and 75 g/l, B. bassiana 25,50, and 75 g/l, M. anisopliae 25, 50, and 75 g/l) with threereplications. The results showed that the highest percentage (100%) of mortality larvae in thetreatment B. thuringiensis 75 g/l and the lowest (50,71%) in B. bassiana 25 g/L. The highestpercentage (100%) of larvae infected with entomopathogenic in treatment B.thuringiensis 75 g/l, B.bassiana 75 g/l, M. anisopliae 75 g/l , and the lowest (72,93%) in treatment B. bassiana 25 g/L. Thedeath behavior of larvae O. rhinoceros infected entomopathogenic characterized by the larvaebecome slow, decreased of appetite, and have a different colors.Key Words: Oryctes rhinoceros, entomopathogenic, mortality

Abstract

The objective of the research was to test antagonism ability of endophytic fungi to control C. oryzaeand C. lunata in laboratory. This research was conducted in Plant Disease Laboratory,Agroecotechnology Program Study, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Sumatera Utara, Medan(± 25 m asl) from November 2013 until February 2014. The method used was RandomizedComplete Design with two factors in 3 replications. The first factor was the pathogens (C. oryzaeand C. lunata) and the second factor was the endophytic fungi (Penicillium sp., Trichoderma spp.,Aspergillus sp1., Trichocladium sp., Aspergillus sp2. and Nigrospora sp.). Parameters observedwere inhibiting zone, width of inhibiting zone, diameter of pathogen colony and growth width ofpathogen colony. The results of this research showed that the pathogens, the endophytic fungi andinteraction between them affected significantly to the inhibiting zone, width of inhibiting zone,diameter of pathogen colony and growth width of pathogen colony . The good result to controlC. oryzae was showed on P1E2 (C. oryzae + Trichoderma spp.) with 67,56% andP1E5 (C. oryzae + Aspergillus sp2.) with 67,52% and to control C. lunata on P2E1(C. lunata + Penicillium sp.) with 70,10% in inhibiting zone.Key words: C. oryzae, C. lunata, endophytic fungi, rice

Abstract

The objective of this research was to know the effectivity of entomopathogenic fungi B. bassianadan M. anisopliae to C. sacchariphagus with different concentration levels. This research wasconducted at the Laboratory of Pest, Agroecotechnology Program Study, Faculty of Agriculture,University of North Sumatera, with altitude ±25 m asl from February until March 2014. Themethod used Randomized Completely Design non factorial which consist of 7 treatments and 3replication. The treatments consist of : T0 (Control), T1(B. bassiana 30gr/1l water), T2 (B. bassiana40gr/1l water), T3 (B.bassiana 50 gr/1l water), T4 (M. anisopliae 30gr/1l water), T5 (M. anisopliae40gr/1l water), T6 (M. anisopliae 50gr/1l water). Parameters measured were percentage mortalitylarva and the change of morphology larva. The result showed that the most effective B. bassiana isthe treatment T2 dan T3 by 73.33% and 86.67% and the most effective M. anisopliae is thetreatment of T5 dan T6 by 86.67% and 100.00%. The observation of the change of morphology oflarva C. sacchariphagus was as the following: the movement of larva C. sacchariphagus becameslow (lazy), the body of the larva was weakening dead and hardening, and finally was covered bydifferent colors of mycelium, i.e. B. bassiana was covered by and mycelium white M. anisopliaewas covered by green mycelium.Key words: Beauveria bassiana, Chilo sacchariphagus, Metarrhizium anisopliae, sugar cane

Abstract

The effectivity of swordfish protein hydrolysis, nectar and biological agent (Beauveria bassiana) tocontrol fruit flies (Bractocera dorsalis complex).The objectives of research was to study the abilityof protein hydrolysis swordfish, nectar and Beauveria bassiana to control fruit flies (Bractoceradorsalis complex). In the research was held at Laboratory of Agricultural Research andDevelopment of Fruit Crops Experimental Garden Plants Berastagi, Kecamatan Dolat Rayat,Kabupaten Karo (in 1.340 meters). The method used Randomized Complete Design with twofactors and three replications. The first factor was protein hydrolysis concentrate (0 % /liter nectar +Beauveria bassiana, 25 % /liter of nectar + Beauveria bassiana,50 % /liter of nectar + Beauveriabassiana, 75 % /liter of nectar + Beauveria bassiana, 100 % /liter of nectar hydrolysis + Beauveriabassiana) and the second factor was infection technic (male and female feed, male feed and femalefeed). The results showed that infection technic and protein hydrolysis concentrate significantlyeffected the percentage of fruit fly mortality. The highest percentage (93,33%) 75 % /liter of nectar+ Beauveria bassiana on male and female feed, and the lowest (70,00%) 50 % /liter of nectar +Beauveria bassiana on male feed.Keywords :Fruit fly, protein hydrolysis, nectar, Beauveria bassiana

Abstract

This objective was to study the effect of the ages of Xanthocampoplex sp. on the number of larvaeC. sacchariphagus. The research was held at Laboratory of Sugarcane Research and DevelopmentSei Semayang, Binjai, North Sumatera from November 2013 until January 2014. The method usedRandomized Complete Design with two factors and three replications. The first factor was imago’sage (0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 days) and the second factor was number of host (1, 3, 5 larvaeC. sacchariphagus). All parasitoid larvae appear from C. saccharipaghus was female. The highestpercentage parasitation (35.55%) on age 7 days Xanthocampoplex sp. and the lowest (0.00%) on1, 9, and 10 days Xanthocampoplex sp. The highest number of parasitoid was 1.00 and the lowestwas 0.00 and the highest number of host was 0.70 in number of host was 5 larvaeC. sacchariphagus and the lowest was 0.06 in 1 larvae C. sacchariphagus.Keywords :Xanthocampoplex sp., parasititation, C. sacchariphagus.

Abstract

The aim of experiment was to find out the effect of mount Sinabung on leaf blight disease(Phytophthora infestans) disease on potatoes (Solanum tuberosum Linn.). The research was held atSimpang Empat districts, Karo distric, North Sumatera from March until May 2014. This researchwas conducted using survey method by simple linear regression quantitative analyzis, ie regressionof the number of eruption regression and incidence of leaf blight disease percentage, regressionbetween the control after occurres eruption with incidence of leaf blight disease and regression leafblight disease between control after occurres eruption with production of potatoes. The resultshowed that the number of eruption did have significant relationship with incidence of leaf blightdisease percentage, and the control after occurance of the eruption did have significant relation withincidence of disease and production of potatoes in Simpang Empat distric. The highest incidence ofdisease in Torong village with 1.6% and the lowest were showed in Bilan Baru village with 1.1%.The highest potatoes production was in Bulan Baru village with 9.4 Ton/Ha and the lowestproduction was in Ujung village with 5.4 Ton/Ha.Keywords : potatoes, leaf blight disease and Sinabung eruption
