Abstract

Tunggulo Village is one of the villages in the West Limboto District of Gorontalo Regency. Tunggulo village is facing several fundamental problems that affect the quality of life of its people. Tunggulo village is facing serious obstacles in waste management and wastewater disposal system (SPAL). The implementation of the Infrastructure Thematic Real Work Lecture has been held through a participatory approach that provides direct education to the community. The result of the community's active involvement in the Infrastructure Thematic Real Work Lecture is the creation of an IMAP Map (Problem Identification and Potential Analysis) in the form of mapping the conditions related to sanitation infrastructure (Unfit Houses (RTLH), garbage and Wastewater Treatment System SPAL)). Regarding waste, the calculation of household waste generation in Tunggulo Village has also been carried out with the weight of waste generation amounting to 1137.15 kg per day or with a volume of 6.06 m3 per day. As a follow-up, the solutions to the next problems are compiled into a medium and long-term development plan for the procurement program of quality housing for healthy homes, waste bins, TPS, TPS3R, waste banks compost, which can provide good impact solutions to village problems in terms of RTLH, stunting and sanitation. The formation of the Waste Management Task Force is expected to help coordinate with related parties and partners and sustainable waste management.

Abstract

Indonesia memiliki cadangan aspal alam terbesar di dunia berupa aspal gunung, dikenal sebagai asbuton, yang terdapat di Pulau Buton, Provinsi Sulawesi Tenggara. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis karakteristik asbuton pracampur dan agregat Gorontalo serta karakteristik Marshall campuran AC-BC menggunakan kedua bahan tersebut. Metode yang digunakan adalah Marshall Test untuk memastikan campuran aspal panas memenuhi spesifikasi teknik Direktorat Jenderal Bina Marga. Aspal buton pracampur memiliki berat jenis 1,036, nilai penetrasi 54 mm, titik lembek 55,5°C, dan hasil ekstraksi menunjukkan 98% bitumen dan 2% mineral. Karakteristik agregat meliputi: Coarse Aggregate (CA) dengan berat jenis 2,56, nilai abrasi 24,84%, nilai angularitas 99,32/98,84%, absorpsi 1,27%, kelekatan agregat terhadap aspal >95%, dan material lolos saringan No.200 sebesar 0,6%. Medium Aggregate (MA) memiliki berat jenis 2,54, nilai abrasi 27,51%, nilai angularitas 99,32/98,84%, absorpsi 1,74%, kelekatan agregat terhadap aspal >95%, dan material lolos saringan No.200 sebesar 0,9%. Fine Aggregate (FA)/abu batu memiliki berat jenis 2,42, absorpsi 1,32%, sand equivalent 75,76%, dan material lolos saringan No.200 sebesar 9,92%. Pasir memiliki berat jenis 2,40, absorpsi 2,28%, dan material lolos saringan No.200 sebesar 2,03%. Semua nilai karakteristik aspal dan agregat memenuhi Spesifikasi Umum 2018 (Revisi 2). Nilai KAO AC-BC asbuton pracampur adalah 5,25%. Karakteristik Marshall menggunakan KAO 5,25% menunjukkan kepadatan 2,22 gr/cm³, VIM 4,95%, VMA 14,63%, VFA 66,19%, stabilitas 1.310,20 kg, flow 2,54 mm, dan Marshall Quotient 515,83 kg/mm. Disimpulkan bahwa campuran asbuton pracampur dan agregat Gorontalo memiliki stabilitas tinggi, cocok untuk jalan yang melayani lalu lintas berat dan padat.

Abstract

Learning interest is one of the internal factors that determines students’ academic success. In the context of Hydrologic Engineering courses, which require analytical understanding, strong learning motivation is needed to participate in learning optimally. This research was conducted due to students' low learning outcomes, even though they regularly attended lectures. Therefore, this study aimed to evaluate the influence of learning interest on student learning outcomes in the hydrologic engineering course in the Civil Engineering Study Program, Universitas Negeri Gorontalo. This quantitative research, with an ex post facto approach, used all students (84 people) who had taken the hydrologic engineering course as a population and a sample (total sampling technique). Data were collected through learning interest questionnaires and academic score documentation, then analyzed using the Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test. Based on the analysis, there was a significant relationship between learning interest and student learning outcomes. Students with a high interest in learning tend to get better academic grades. Aspects of interest, attention, and active involvement in learning have been shown to play an essential role in academic achievement. Thus, it is recommended to implement interactive and contextual learning methods and utilize supporting facilities, such as simulation software and real-life case studies, to improve student motivation and learning outcomes.

Abstract

Asphalt Concrete – Wearing Course (AC-WC) mixtures are widely used as surface layers due to their water resistance and high durability. This study aims to analyze the effect of adding hydrated lime as a filler on the Marshall properties of AC-WC mixtures. The hydrated lime was added in variations of 1.0%, 1.5%, 2.0%, 2.5%, and 3.0%. Additionally, this research produced a practical module for road pavement construction based on filler variations. The research method involved laboratory testing using the Marshall Test to determine the mixture characteristics. Materials used included coarse aggregate, fine aggregate, and asphalt from PT Petra Anugerah Sejahtera Pulubala, and hydrated lime from Tenilo Subdistrict, Hulonthalangi District. Testing was conducted at the Civil Engineering Laboratory of Universitas Negeri Gorontalo. Results showed that the mixture without hydrated lime had a density of 2.6 gr/cc, VIM of 3.88%, VMA of 15.99%, VFB of 75.74%, stability of 2305.04 kg, flow of 3.47 mm, and MQ of 678.78 kg/mm. The addition of hydrated lime increased density, VFB, Marshall stability, and MQ, while decreasing VIM, VMA, and flow. The mixture with 1.5% hydrated lime content produced the most optimal results, with stability reaching 2617.20 kg and MQ of 792.18 kg/mm. In conclusion, hydrated lime is effective as an alternative filler to improve the performance of AC-WC mixtures and support the utilization of local resources. The developed practical module can also assist in conducting field tests on AC-WC mixtures.

Abstract

The national roads in Gorontalo City serve as the main transportation routes connecting the city to other regions in Sulawesi and even across provinces. This research aims to analyze traffic flow and vehicle speed, as well as to predict traffic growth over the next ten years using the Moving Car Observer method. The study was conducted on four national road segments: Prof. Dr. H.B. Jassin Street, Nani Wartabone Street, Yos Sudarso Street, and Mayor Dullah Street. Data were collected through moving vehicle surveys and analyzed using formulas from the Bina Marga Traffic Travel Time Calculation Guide No. 001/T/BNKT/1990. The results of the study show that the highest traffic flow occurred on H.B. Jassin road in the afternoon, reaching 1,264 PCU/hour, while the lowest was recorded on Yos Sudarso road in the afternoon at 250.4 PCU/hour. The highest speed was observed on Mayor Dullah road in the afternoon at 28.09 km/h, and the lowest on H.B. Jassin road in the afternoon at 18.37 km/h. Specifically, H.B. Jassin road experienced a 25.4% increase in traffic flow with a 22.8% decrease in speed; Nani Wartabone road saw a 34.7% increase in flow and a 3.1% increase in speed; Yos Sudarso road experienced an 11.8% decrease in flow and an 8.5% decrease in speed; while Mayor Dullah road showed a 29.3% increase in flow and a 10.5% increase in speed.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the need for laboratory staff based on the actual workload in the Concrete Technology Laboratory, Civil Engineering Department, Gorontalo State University. The existence of sufficient and qualified laboratory staff is very important to support the implementation of practicum, research, and optimal laboratory services. In this research, the Workload Analysis method is used as the main approach, which consists of several stages: identification of types of activities, measurement of standard time, and calculation of workload based on the volume of annual activities. Data were collected through observations, interviews, and distribution of questionnaires/questionnaires to laboratory assistants. The results of the analysis show that the number of laboratory assistants currently available is not sufficient to meet the ideal workload requirements. Workload calculations show that ideally this laboratory requires at least 3 laboratory assistants with expertise in concrete technology, while the current number only reaches 2 people. This shortage has an impact on reducing the effectiveness of practicum implementation, potential service delays, and limited technical support for student and lecturer research activities. Therefore, the addition of laboratory assistants and the reorganization of duties and responsibilities are needed to ensure optimal laboratory performance in the future.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah menganalisis sejauh mana durabilitas (keawetan) campuran AC-WC menggunakan agregat lokal quary Longalo dengan bahan pengikat aspal Iran ditinjau dari spesifikasi umum 2018 revisi 2. Parameter keawetan campuran AC-WC dilihat dari Indeks Kekuatan Sisa (IKS), Indeks Durabilitas Pertama (IDP), dan Indeks Durabilitas Kedua (IDK). Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di laboratorium dengan benda uji yang direndam selama 0,5; 24; 48; 72; 96 dan 144 jam dalam waterbath. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian campuran AC-WC, nilai IKS adalah 96,66%, nilai IDP adalah 0,14% dan nilai IDK adalah 1,70%. Campuran AC-WC menggunakan aspal Iran tahan terhadap kerusakan akibat temperatur.

Abstract

Kenaikan harga bahan bakar minyak industri dan material konstruksi, khususnya aspal, memberikan tekanan terhadap perencanaan dan pelaksanaan pekerjaan infrastruktur jalan. Kondisi tersebut menuntut adanya penyesuaian desain, harga satuan, dan Rencana Anggaran Biaya agar pelaksanaan pekerjaan fisik tetap sesuai dengan standar teknis, kebutuhan lapangan, dan ketersediaan anggaran. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan memberikan pendampingan teknis kepada Bidang Bina Marga Dinas Pekerjaan Umum dan Penataan Ruang Kota Gorontalo dalam melakukan reviu desain dan harga terhadap pekerjaan fisik Tahun Anggaran 2026. Metode pelaksanaan dilakukan melalui koordinasi kelembagaan, telaah dokumen teknis, rapat pembahasan bersama konsultan perencana dan Pejabat Pelaksana Teknis Kegiatan, identifikasi ketidaksesuaian antara gambar rencana dan Rencana Anggaran Biaya, serta penyusunan rekomendasi teknis. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa empat paket pekerjaan, yaitu Jalan Pangeran Hidayat 2, Jalan Taman Buah, Jalan Palma, dan kawasan parkiran kompleks Kantor Wali Kota, masih memerlukan penyempurnaan pada aspek sinkronisasi gambar dan RAB, ketebalan lapisan perkerasan, pekerjaan pelengkap jalan, fondasi tiang lampu, timbunan pilihan, serta Sistem Manajemen Keselamatan Konstruksi. Kegiatan ini memberikan kontribusi dalam meningkatkan kualitas perencanaan teknis, mengurangi risiko ketidaksesuaian biaya, dan mendukung pelaksanaan pembangunan infrastruktur jalan yang lebih efektif, efisien, dan akuntabel.
