Abstract

ABSTRACT The number of plants per hectare is an important factor to get high yields. The number of plants widely unity depends on variety, age, soil fertility and water conditions. Through proper spacing between plant pineapple level of competition can be reduced as low as possible. The use of plant growth regulators (PGR) is required to support the growth and development of the pineapple plant. The aim of this study to determine the effect of spacing and administration of the growth hormone auxin on pineapple among immature oil palm plantations on peat land. This study was conducted with randomized block design experiment with 2 factors and 3 replications. The first factor is the spacing treatment, and for the second factor is the use of the hormone auxin. Then proceed to test the value of the middle HDS (Honestly Significant Difference) the 5% level. The parameters measured were plant height increase, in the number of leaves, the length of the leaves, leaf width accretion, plant fresh weight, dry weight of plants. The results showed the interaction of treatment and the spacing of the hormone auxin significant effect on the number of leaves but not on other parameters. Spacing factors did not significantly affect on all parameters. However, the hormone auxin treatment only significantly affects the leaf number, fresh and dry weight.. Abstract

This research explains comparison of effectiveness human urine  with urea fertilizer on the growth of cocoa seedlings (Theobroma cacao, L). This Research use Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with seven treatments, namely: (1) U0 = 2 g Urea, (2) U1 = 50 ml human urine without fermentation, (3) U2 = 100 ml human urine without fermentation, (4 ) U3 = 50 ml fermentation of human urine for 7 days,  (5) U4 = 100 ml fermentation of human urine for 7 days, (6) U5 = 50 ml fermentation of human urine for 14 days, and (7) U6 = 100 ml fermentation of human urine for 14 days. Each treatment was repeated 3 times, thus obtained 21 experimental units.  in this research, parameters measured were seedling height, number of leaves, leaf area, stem diameter, root volume, wet weight, dry weight of plants, the ratio of roots crown, and seed quality index of cocoa seedlings. The data obtained in this study continued using Duncan's Multiple Range Test 5%. This study shows that the use of human urine is more effective than the use of urea fertilizer, especially on the use of 100 ml of human urine without fermentation. The use of human urine 100 ml without fermentation, can significantly improve seedling height, leaf number, root volume, wet weight, and quality of cocoa seedlings index. Abstract

The development of eggplant (Solanum melongena L.) cultivation is the fastest in Southeast Asia, one of which is in Indonesia. This study aims to determine the interaction effect of NPK fertilizer and guano fertilizer on eggplant growth and production and to determine the effect of NPK fertilizer and guano fertilizer as a single factor on eggplant plant growth and to obtain the best dose. This research has been carried out at the Experimental Garden, Faculty of Agriculture, Riau University, Bina Widya Campus KM 12.5, Pekanbaru. The research lasted for 4 months, starting from July 2021 to November 2021. The materials used in this study were round eggplant seeds of Pondoh variety, guano fertilizer, NPK fertilizer, Dithane M-45, Furadan 3G, Decis 25 EC, rope rapia, wood and nails. The tools used in this study were hoes, machetes, knives, scissors, rakes, polybags, scales, meter, paranet, gembor, hammer, plastic, camera, and stationery. This study used a factorial completely randomized design (CRD). consists of 2 factors. The first factor is the treatment of NPK fertilizer (16:16:16) (N) which consists of 4 levels, namely: N0 = Control (without NPK fertilizer), N1 = NPK fertilizer 100 kg.ha-1, N2 = 200 kg NPK fertilizer .ha-1 and N3 = NPK fertilizer 300 kg.ha-1 The second factor is the treatment of guano fertilizer (G) which consists of 4 levels as follows: G0 = control (without Guano fertilizer), G1 = 10 tons of guano fertilizer. ha-1 , G2= guano fertilizer 15 tons.ha-1 and G3= guano fertilizer 20 tons.ha-1. From these two factors, 16 treatment combinations were obtained. Each treatment consisted of 3 replications so that the number of experimental units obtained was 48 units. Each unit consists of 4 plants, 2 of which are used as samples, the total number of plants is 192 plants. Based on research that has been carried out to get good growth and production of eggplant plants can use NPK fertilizer at a dose of 300 kg.ha-1, but to get better results can use guano fertilizer 15 tons.ha-1 and NPK fertilizer 300 kg. ha-1. Keywords: eggplant, NPK, Guano Fertilizer

Abstract

Shallots are a commodity that people need to use as a food flavoring and other things whose availability in Riau is still lacking and are imported from neighboring provinces such as West Sumatra, Brebes and others, and this is an opportunity for farmers in Riau to cultivate shallots. The success of a shallot growing business is determined by the knowledge and skills of how to grow shallots, for this reason there is a need for community service activities, Community Empowerment regarding Shallot Cultivation in Sungai Pinang Village, Kubu Babussalam District. Community empowerment through shallot cultivation in Sungai Pinang Village, Kubu Babussalam District aims to increase farmer knowledge and skills as well as farmer welfare regarding shallot cultivation.
