Abstract

This research is entitled "Transformation of Communication Behavior of Users of Online Game Mobile Legend: Bang-Bang". The purpose of this study was to find out how students' communication behavior changes after using the online game Mobile Legend: Bang-Bang and to find out how the activities of students after using the online game Mobile Legend: Bang-Bang. The theory related to this research is the uses and effects theory. This study uses a qualitative research methodology with a case study approach. The results of this study are changes in students' communication behavior towards people around them depending on their mood when they play the game. If they lose in the game, they will feel annoyed and angry which will carry over to the people around them, but when they win, they will feel happy and carry out activities as usual. Then there are no negative behaviors such as fighting that students follow from the game; students only tend to be carried away by harsh words in the game. Although the game has nothing to do with special subjects in the students' schools, there is knowledge that they get, namely knowing and understanding new foreign language vocabulary that can be practiced in the real world.

Abstract

The author's Information Literacy Analysis in creating his study work is still small in various communities. This qualitative study aims to obtain the author's information literacy ability in creating works in the Toba Circle Pen community or abbreviated as PELITO. This study involved 6 authors who were positioned as research subjects. Data on the author's information literacy ability are collectedusing a recording device, which is then recorded in word. The collected data is analyzed using thematic analysis. The results of this study inform that the information literacy ability of each writer in making a work in the category is quite good. Furthermore, the author's way of searching for more detailed information will easily create a work, rather than one that only relies on imagination and reads less. Following up on these findings, literation skills in various communities must be optimized through reading a lot, increasing learning resources, and learning to browse information through the internetor observation.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah Untuk mengetahui bagaimana Pemaknaan dan representasi peran budaya patriarki dalam Film Ngeri-Ngeri Sedap. Teori yang digunakan untuk mengupas penelitian ini adalah teori budaya Gertz. Objek penelitian ini ialah FilmNgeri-Ngeri Sedap yang berdurasi 1 jam 53 menit 47 detik. Metode yang digunakan penelitian ini merupakan metode kualitatif dengan paradigm deskriptif. Teknik analisis yang digunakan adalah analisis semiotika Charles Sander Pierce. Hasil penelitian menampilkan Film Ngeri-Ngeri Sedap berperan dalam budaya patriarki dalam berbagai cara yang dipahami penulis dengan menggunakan teori Budaya Gertz dan pendekatan analisis semiotika Charles sanders pierce, terdapat 10 scene yang menunjukkan budaya patriarki pada film tersebut. Penyampaian adanya budaya patriarki dalam film Ngeri-Ngeri Sedap yaitu dengan cara menggunakan tahap ikon, indeks, dan symbol. Tahap ikon ini merupakan tanda yang mirip dengan acuannya atau menggunakan persamaan atau ciri yang mirip untuk memudahkan pemakainya mengenalinya. Tahap Indeks ialah adalah tanda yang terkait atau dekat dengan apa yang diwakilinya dan biasanya menunjukkan hubungan sebab akibat. Sedangkan tahap symbol ialah tanda yang bersifat abriter dan konvensional sesuai kesepatan atau konvensi sejumlah orang atau masyarakat.

Abstract

Family communication is inseparable from the relationship between parents and children. In a family, not only parents but also children use gadgets. In fact, almost the average parent associates the use of gadgets with early childhood. Of course this is a challenge in establishing good communication so that parents can control the use of these devices so that their use remains within reasonable limits. This study aims to determine the role of communication used by parents in controlling the use of gadgets in early childhood in Percut Sei Tuan District. In this study used a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach. Then the researcher obtained the data by using observation, interview and documentation techniques. The source of information in this research is Percut Sei Tuan's parents. Data analysis was carried out descriptively and variation techniques and reliability tests were used for validity. The results of this study indicate that in a family, parents control the decision-making process about what children do.

Abstract

Penelitian ini menjabarkan tentang bagaimana Tribun Medan mengembangkan Sumber Daya Manusianya (SDM) dalam menghadapi tantangan industri media digital yang saat ini berkembang sangat pesat. Berdasarkan penelitian ini diketahui bahwa Tribun Medan melakukan beberapa upaya dalam mengembangkan SDM-nya. Salah satu cara atau langkah-langkah yang dilakukan Tribun Medan untuk mengembangkan SDM-nya dalam menjawab tantangan industri media adalah dengan melakukan upgrading atau pembaruan terhadap para SDM. Pembaruan dilakukan biasanya dengan cara pelatihan dan pembinaan. Pelatihan-pelatihan ada yang bersifat lokal (internal) khusus SDM yang baru direktrut atau bergabung dengan durasi pelatihan selama dua pekan. Serta, ada juga pelatihan yang dilakukan dalam skala nasional yang diselenggarakan oleh Tribun Network (pusat) dari seluruh elemen Tribun yang ada di seluruh Indonesia. Masing-masing daerah mengirimkan satu perwakilan terbaiknya untuk mengikuti pelatihan tersebut. Diharapkan dari pelatihan tersebut dapat menjadi SDM yang unggul dan siap di tempatkan di mana saja.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana persepsi Mahasiswa UIN Sumatera Utara, terhadap konten dari Pandawara Grup dalam meningkatkan kesadaran perduli lingkungan. Untuk mengetahui seberapa luas jangkauan persepsi Mahasiswa terhadap kesadaran yang ditimbulkan meningkatkan kesadaran peduli lingkungan yang dibangun, serta kita dapat mengetahui seberapa tingkat kepedulian Mahasiswa terhadap kesadaran peduli lingkungan dengan sudah ditambah banyak konten-konten yang membantu untuk mengingatkan kesadaran mereka terhadap lingkungannya sendiri. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif bersifat deskriptif, dengan menggunakan metode analisis isi dan wawancara, yang dilakukan secara langsung serta secara online lewat aplikasi WhatsApp kepada Mahasiswa UIN Sumatera Utara, pada Oktober 2023. Pada Mahasiswa UIN SU sendiri Tingkat kesadaran mahasiswa berada pada tingkat tinggi, sedangkan tingkat perilaku mahasiswa berada pada tingkat sedang. Hal ini bahwa mahasiswa sudah berada pada tahap kesadaran bahwa perilaku ramah lingkungan itu penting, namun masih dalam kategori sedang pada saat proses penerapannya, sehingga kesadaran lingkungan hanya bersifat teoritis belum dipraktikkan oleh seluruh mahasiswa.

Abstract

This study aims to determine how the use of social media as a medium of communication by public relations Medan city government). The results of the study show that: 1. Social media is very influential as a means of communication by the protocol and communication of the Medan City leadership, 2. Social media is very effectively used as a means of delivering information to the public, 3. There are no challenges faced as a protocol and communication for City leaders. Medan in using social media as a means of communication, 4. The existence of hoax news and differences of opinion are one of the inhibiting factors that occur as protocol and communication for Medan City leaders in conveying information, 5. The network is evenly distributed throughout the city of Medan, 6. The existence of hoax news and differences of opinion are also a challenge for the community in receiving information conveyed by the Public Relations of the Medan City Government through social media, 7. The community is also satisfied with the information obtained through social media.

Abstract

This study investigates the influence of TikTok content from the account @buiramira on the ease experienced by final-year students at the State Islamic University of North Sumatra (UINSU) in completing their final projects. “Students’ ease” is measured through respondents’ perceptions of how easily they can find information, understand the material, and apply the tips provided in @buiramira’s content. Using a quantitative method with questionnaires distributed to 50 Communication Science students at UINSU (based on Slovin’s formula with a 10% margin of error), the data were analyzed using simple linear regression, correlation, coefficient of determination, and t-tests. The results indicate a significant influence of @buiramira’s content on students’ ease (p < 0.05), with a contribution of 46.4%. This study concludes that educational content on TikTok can serve as a valuable source of information for students in completing their final projects and highlights the importance of delivering content that is clear, accurate, and easy to understand.
