Abstract

‘Papadak’ merupakan kearifan lokal yang diterapkan untuk pengelolaan pesisir oleh masyarakat di Kecamatan Rote Tengah. Agenda yang dilaksanakan selama Papadak memberikan akses pengetahuan dan sarana untuk berpartisipasi kepada masyarakat. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengkaji pengaruh kearifan lokal Papadak terhadap pengetahuan dan partisipasi masyarakat pada upaya konservasi laut di Kecamatan Rote Tengah. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan September-Oktober 2018 di Desa Siomeda yang telah menerapkan Papadak dan Desa Maubesi yang belum menerapkan. Metode ex post facto dengan kearifan lokal Papadak sebagai variabel bebas dan pengetahuan serta partisipasi masyarakat sebagai variabel terikat digunakan dalam penelitian ini. Sampel responden berusia 18-64 tahun dipilih secara acak sebanyak 88 orang dari Desa Maubesi dan 80 orang dari Desa Siomeda. Data diperoleh dengan menggunakan instrumen penelitian berupa kuesioner, wawancara informan kunci, dan studi dokumen. Analisis data menggunakan uji-U Mann Whitney. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata nilai pengetahuan Desa Maubesi lebih tinggi dari Desa Siomeda, sedangkan rata-rata nilai partisipasi masyarakat menunjukkan hasil sebaliknya. Pengujian hipotesis menyimpulkan tidak ada pengaruh penerapan kearifan lokal Papadak terhadap pengetahuan dan partisipasi masyarakat pada upaya konservasi laut di Kecamatan Rote Tengah. Penelitian lebih lanjut dibutuhkan untuk mengetahui faktor lain yang mempengaruhi pengetahuan dan partisipasi masyarakat dan cara untuk meningkatkannya Tittle: The Effect of ‘Papadak’ Implementation on Community Knowledge and Their Participation in Marine Conservation in the Central Rote, East Nusa Tenggara‘Papadak’ is a local wisdom in the coastal management within community in Central Rote District. Papadak provided community with access to knowledge and opportunity to participate in marine conservation efforts. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of Papadak on community knowledge and participation in marine conservation in Central Rote. This study was conducted in September-October 2018 in Siomeda Village which had implemented Papadak compared with Maubesi Village which had not implemented Papadak. Method used ex post facto method. Random sampling was used to select 88 people from Maubesi and 80 people from Siomeda ranged between 18-64 years old. Data were collected through questionnaires, key informants interview, and document review. Data then were analysed by U-test. The results showed the higher average score of community knowledge in Maubesi rather than in Siomeda, while the average score of community participation showed the opposite result. This study concluded that there was no effect of Papadak on community knowledge and participation in marine conservation in Central Rote District. Further research is needed to discover other factors influencing community knowledge and participation and how to improve them

Abstract

Ecosystem concepts are not a science that is far from daily life. Therefore, teachers need an innovation that can support students’ mastery of the ecosystem concept. This study aims to analyze the influence of the CirGi (Cooperative Integrated Reading, Composition, and Guided Inquiry) learning model on the learners’ ecosystem concept mastery. This research uses a quasi-experiment method with a pre-post control group design with a sample of 104 students. Data collection is carried out using an instrument of ecosystem concept mastery in the form of multiple choices so that questions could cover all the materials. The data analysis technique used is an independent sample t-test. The conclusion of this study is that there is a significant influence of CirGi’s learning model on the learners’ mastery of ecosystem concept. The application of CirGi learning model on ecosystem material can revive reading activities along with environmental awareness.

Abstract

Naturalist intelligence is a person's ability to use, understand and classify flora, fauna and nature, along with their interactions, which are then used in solving environmental problems. Naturalist intelligence is one of the predictors relating to responsibility environmental behavior which is one of the efforts to solve environmental problems. This study aims to analyze the relationship between naturalist intelligence and the responsibility environmental behavior of students of SMP Negeri 51 Bandung. The number of respondents consisted of 220 students. The method used in this study is quantitative research with a correlational method. Naturalist intelligence data collection and responsibility environmental behavior using non-test instruments. Analysis of research data using a regression model test (α = 0.05) and correlation coefficient test with Pearson Product Moment test (α = 0.05). The results of the analysis show that there was a positive relationship between naturalist intelligence and responsibility environmental behavior students'.

Abstract

The development of learning in the 21st century, requires students to have the competency that can support in the development of the times. competency is one of them is the ability to think critically. Students must have this competency in order to solve problems faced such as environmental pollution problems. The problem of environmental pollution is one part of biology, by collaborating SQ3R model that has advantages for cooperation between students and students enggagment. is expected to contribute greatly to students able to solve problems. Quasi Research This experiment uses two way anova design (2x2 factorial). This research was conducted at SMA Negeri 1 Tambun Utara in May-June 2017. The result data showed normal and homogeneous values (p> 0.05) with 140 samples. Result of research using two way anova test got data that p value = 0.000, mean p <0.05 (reject H0). The conclusion is that (1) there is influence of SQ3R model to learning outcomes, (2) there is influence of critical thinking to learning result, and (3) there is interaction between SQ3R and critical thinking to result of learning.

Abstract

Problem-solving skill is a way or strategy to achieve goals following good and correct procedures. One of the learning models that can be applied to improve problem-solving skills is a learning model of Problem-Based Learning. The purpose of this research was to determine the effect of the problem-based learning model on student’s problem-solving skills of biodiversity. This research was conducted at SMAN 89 Jakarta in August-September 2019. The method used was a quasi-experiment. The research sample was 66 students of class X MIA with a simple random sampling technique, the instrument used was pretest and posttest in the form of a description question. Instrument of problem-solving skills was tested for validity and reliability. The result of the validity test showed that there were 15 valid items out of 18 items. The reliability test showed that the r-value was 0,901 and included in very high criteria. The effectiveness test of the PBL model with normalized gain calculated score of 0,72 or included in the category of fairly effective. The research result showed that the problem-based learning model influenced students’ problem-solving skills of biodiversity.

Abstract

Snake bite management is a stage that must be involved in dealing with snake bite problems. Attitude toward snakes is an evaluation or reaction of someone feelings toward snakes. The aim of this research was to know collage student attitude toward snakes and the effect of snake bite management training on collage student attitude toward snakes. The method used for this research was quasi experiment. The precondition test, result showed data distributed normal and homogenous. Data analysis uses gain score and hypothesis testing using the t test. The result of study showed that there was a significant different in the average score of attitude of biology students to animals in the experimental class and control class. This research showed there is an effect of snake bite management training on student attitudes towards snakes.

Abstract

Metacognition and knowledge of ecosystem concepts with critical thinking is a self-learning process of critical learning toward certain objects, which are ecosystem components. The research analyzes the relationship between metacognitive skills, knowledge of ecosystem concepts, and critical thinking skills. The research is carried out at MAN 1 Tangerang from May to August 2021, involving 65 Class XI IPA-1 and XI IPA-2 students. The students are selected using a simple random sampling technique. The instrument consists of variables of metacognitive ability (X1), knowledge of ecosystem concepts (X2), and critical thinking (Y), each of which consists of 15 description questions. Thus, the total number of research samples is 195.  The instrument used is an essay test that is distributed online and offline. The research method is a correlation study. The results indicate that there is no positive relationship between metacognitive skills and critical thinking with a correlation of 0.016, there is a positive relationship between knowledge of ecosystem concepts and critical thinking with a correlation of 0.490, and there is a positive and simultaneous relationship between metacognitive skills and knowledge of ecosystem concepts and critical thinking.

Abstract

Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO) merupakan minyak yang dihasilkan dari buah kelapa tanpa melalui proses pemanasan, pemurnian, atau penambahan bahan kimia. Kelurahan Jatiayu Yogyakarta merupakan daerah dekat pantai selatan Pulau Jawa yang memiliki banyak pohon kelapa maka daerah tersebut merupakan daerah yang ideal untuk sasaran sosialisasi pembuatan VCO. Metode yang digunakan adalah strategi partisipasi aktif dengan keterlibatan peserta. VCO dibuat dengan cara fermentasi sederhana menggunakan air kelapa sebagai starter. Rangkaian kegiatan yang dilakukan meliputi pretest, pemberian materi, demonstrasi pembuatan VCO, dan posttest. Hasil pretest menunjukkan bahwa 100% peserta belum mengetahui tentang VCO. Namun, berdasarkan hasil posttest diketahui 88% peserta telah memahami tentang pembuatan VCO hal ini menandakan terjadi peningkatan pengetahuan dan keterampilan peserta tentang pengertian dan cara pembuatan VCO sehingga kegiatan yang telah dilaksanakan telah memberikan manfaat bagi peserta. Peserta pelatihan mampu menghasilkan sekitar 800 mL VCO diakhir kegiatan. Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO) is oil produced from coconuts without going through a process of heating, refining, or adding synthetic chemicals. This oil has many health benefits including being anti-microbial, maintaining heart health, facilitating the digestive process, and maintaining healthy skin and hair. Considering that Kelurahan Jatiayu Yogyakarta is an area near the south coast of Java Island which has lots of coconut trees, this area is an ideal area for the socialization target of VCO production. The method used is an active participation strategy with the involvement of participants. VCO is made by simple fermentation using coconut water as a starter. The series of activities carried out included a pretest, giving material, demonstrating the manufacture of VCO, and posttest. The pretest results showed that 100% of the participants did not know about VCO. Based on the results of the posttest, it was found that 88% of the participants had understood about making VCO and were able to produce around 800 mL of VCO. There was an increase in the knowledge and skills of the participants regarding the meaning and method of making VCO so that the activities that had been carried out provided benefits for the participants.

Abstract

Higher education institution is one of educational institutions that serve as a place of cultural values, and norms expected to become a foundation to foster caring attitudes toward the environment. These attitudes are accordingly meant to develop ecological literacy in order to overcome environmental problems which are likely to be minimized by combining ecological literacy and creative thinking skills. A quantitative descriptive with correlational study was employed in this research. There were 275 college students from three areas in Indonesia, namely Jakarta, Sumatera, and Gorontalo involved as respondents of the research. Data was collected by means of Google Forms consisting of tests and opinions. The ecological literacy was analyzed using dimensions of caring, practical competence, and knowledge while the creative thinking skills were analyzed using dimensions of fluency, originality, flexibility, and elaboration. This research is limited to students in the Department of Science and Non-Science. Findings of the research indicates that the ecological literacy level is in the medium category, whereas the creative thinking skills are good. Female students have a higher average score in ecological literacy and creative thinking skills compared to that of male students. Thus, there is a positive relationship between ecological literacy and creative thinking skills.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the relationship between school climate and teacher’s kognitive abilities with motivational in Lebak sectoral Biological teacher Banten Province. Method used in this research was quantitative descriptive method with correlational approach. The subject of this study was SMAN Biology teacher Lebak regency of Banten Province with simple random sampling technique. The data was collected using the school climate instrument, teacher cognitive testing test and teacher motivation instrument with a sample of 60 Biology teachers.The results showed that, 1) There significant correlation between school climate with motivational of Lebak sectoral Biological teacher Banten Province. From the above research, it can be concluded that school climate are needed to improve teachers' motivation. Keywords: School climate, motivation Biology teachers. Abstrak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara iklim sekolah dengan motivasi guru Biologi di Kabupaten Lebak Provinsi Banten. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif kuantitatif dengan pendekatan korelasional. Subjek penelitian adalah guru Biologi SMA Negeri Kabupaten Lebak Provinsi Banten dengan teknik pengambilan simple random sampling. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan kuesioner Iklim sekolah, dan kuesioner Motivasi guru dengan sampel sebanyak 60 guru Biologi. Pengumpulan data menggunakan instrumen non tes. Analisis data penelitian menggunakan uji model regresi (α= 0,05) dan uji koefisien korelasi dengan uji Pearson Product Moment (α= 0,05). Hasil penelitian menemukan bahwa terdapat hubungan signifikan antara Iklim sekolah dengan motivasi guru Biologi. Dari hasil penelitian di atas, dapat disimpulkan bahwa iklim sekolah yang kondusif sangat dibutuhkan untuk meningkatkan motivasi guru. Kata kunci: Iklim sekolah dan Motivasi guru Biologi
