Objective: To obtain an overview and be able to perform nursing care in patients with CVD. Methods: An analytical descriptive research design with a case study approach. The sample in this case study consists of Mrs. I and Mrs. R with a CVD diagnosis guided by medical surgical nursing care. Results: After doing nursing care for 3x24 hours on Ny. I, the results was that the risk of ineffective cerebral perfusion was partially resolved because there was no increase in consciousness, acute pain was partially resolved because the pain scale decreased to a scale of 4 (moderate), verbal communication disorders were partially resolved because dysarthria and speech disorders did not decrease. While on Mrs. R after nursing care for 3x24 hours, the results was that the risk of ineffective cerebral perfusion was not resolved because there was no increase in awareness, the nutritional deficit was not resolved because the portion of food decreased and impaired physical mobility was not resolved because there was no increase in muscle strength. Conclusion: The it can be concluded that speech therapy is an effective way stroke patients with speech muscle weakness while Range Of Motion (ROM) therapy is less effective in patients with extremity muscle weakness with recurrent stroke events. It is recommended that nurses are able to carry out nursing interventions, especially ROM therapy and health education effectively to increase muscle and joint strength.

Abstract

Abstract

Background: Cancer was a major non-communicable disease that threatened patients’ lives. Nurses had significant responsibilities and roles in palliative care, which created psychological pressures and challenges in service delivery. This study aimed to explore the psychological and spiritual aspects of palliative care nurses for cancer patients in Dharmais Cancer Hospital.Method: The research design used is descriptive qualitative. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. Study subjects included 15 nurses who performed palliative care for cancer patients and met the inclusion and exclusion criteria that had been made by researchers. Data was collected through semi-structured interviews with face-to-face interviews. There were 13 open-ended questions with an open nature, and an audio recording was done with an average of 40 to 50 minutes. The recordings that have been obtained are verbatim, and interview transcripts are made for analysis. The analysis used the Miles and Huberman method with a thematic analysis approach. Results: The results of the study obtained three themes, among others: a) response to feelings of providing positive care; b) caring for cancer patients; c) sincerity and always getting closer to God.Conclusion: The psychological studies' findings will be a source of information to provide early detection or psychological interventions for nurses in improving mental health while providing palliative care to cancer patients.

Abstract

Abstract

Children with hearing impairment are part of a vulnerable group that is often overlooked in disaster mitigation programs, largely because of limited access to emergency information and preparedness education. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the Inclusive Disaster Risk Reduction learning intervention (IDRR), delivered through interactive learning media using Articulate Storyline, in improving disaster preparedness knowledge among students who are deaf. A quasi-experimental two-group pre-test and post-test design was conducted, involving 40 students with hearing impairments from special-education senior high schools in Surabaya, Indonesia. The study measured disaster preparedness using a modified preparedness questionnaire adapted from LIPI–UNESCO/ISDR. Paired-sample and independent-sample t-tests were used to analyze the data. The results showed a significant increase in disaster preparedness knowledge in both groups; however, the intervention group exhibited a greater increase (p = 0,02) than the control group (p = 0,04). A significant between-group difference was also observed (mean difference = 5,94; p = 0,008). These findings indicate that IDRR education based on Articulate Storyline is more effective than conventional instruction in improving disaster preparedness knowledge among students with hearing impairments. Interactive multimedia learning is an accessible strategy for strengthening inclusive disaster preparedness education for persons with disabilities in schools.
