Abstract

Economic growth is one of the primary indicators of a country's success in improving the welfare of its people. In Indonesia, the dynamics of economic growth are highly complex and intriguing to study. This research aims to assess the impact of foreign investment, the human development index, labor, and poverty levels on economic growth in Indonesia. The method employed is a quantitative approach using data from 34 provinces in Indonesia between 2020 and 2022, obtained from the official BPS website. The analysis was conducted using panel data. The findings, using the FEM approach, indicate that individually, foreign investment, the human development index, and labor positively contribute to economic growth, while poverty does not have a significant impact. Overall, foreign investment, the human development index, labor, and poverty collectively influence economic growth in Indonesia. Therefore, the government should enhance economic growth by increasing foreign investment through stable policies, investing in education and healthcare, and ensuring a skilled workforce that meets market demand.

Abstract

This study examines the differences in companies’ financial performance before and after acquisition. The sample used consists of companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange that underwent acquisitions between 2020 and 2024, with a total sample size of five companies. Financial performance was assessed based on the two years before and after the acquisition. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. Data collection techniques were conducted through financial reports from the Indonesia Stock Exchange. The variables studied included liquidity ratio (current ratio), solvency (debt-equity ratio), profitability (return on assets), market (earnings per share), and activity (total asset turnover). Data analysis methods used paired sample t-tests for normally distributed data, while non-normal data used Wilcoxon Ranks. The analysis results indicate no significant differences in the five ratios studied, namely liquidity ratio, solvency ratio, profitability ratio, market ratio, and activity ratio, before and after the acquisition.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of inflation, exports, imports, exchange rates, and foreign direct investment (FDI) that are estimated to have an effect on German economic growth between 1990-2022. To analyze the relationship between these variables, this study was conducted using time series data from the World Bank and the Error Correction Methodology (ECM), a quantitative approach used in this study. The data processing process from the World Bank uses the Eviews13 software. Based on the findings, export variables significantly and positively affect economic growth in the short term, while factors of imports, inflation, and foreign direct investment significantly and negatively affect economic growth in the long term. Although the exchange rate does not have a statistically significant impact, the exchange rate remains important when it comes to foreign investment and trade. The model used meets classical assumption tests, including normality tests, the absence of autocorrelation and heteroscedasticity, and the absence of multicollinearity in most variables.

Abstract

This research effort conducts a comprehensive analysis of the determinants affecting income inequality in Provinces in Sumatra Island during the period 2020 to 2024, using the Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) methodology. The variables examined include Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP), number of educational institutions, domestic capital investment and the level of the consumer price index. The findings show that domestic investment and GRDP have a positive and statistically significant impact on income inequality, indicating that financial investment is concentrated in certain regions exacerbating economic disparities. In contrast, the consumer price index shows a substantive negative effect on inequality, implying that an increase in the consumer price index can contribute to reducing disparities through a redistributive mechanism that benefits low-income demographics. Meanwhile, the number of educational institutions does not show a significant effect on income inequality. The analytical model explains 42.61% of the variance in income inequality in 8 Provinces in Sumatra Island. These findings underscore the critical need to equalize the distribution of investment, improve the quality of education, and maintain a stable level of the consumer price index to encourage more inclusive economic growth.
