Abstract

Preoperational stage starts from the age of two years to seven years. Through this year children be able to be behave politely. During this stage  children have started trying to distinguish what is good and bad things. In the concrete preoperational phase the child has begun to understand some rules that applies at home or school. The level of politeness has also been better applied. There are several politeness principle that can be used as a guidance in running a social life. The widely used maxim is the maxim of generosity, the children already understand about the meaning of sharing because since childhood their parents taught about the meaning of sharing which then they practice directly in school. Approbiotion maxim and tact maxim are seldom used by children because they have not yet been able  to apply both maxim in a socializing.

Abstract

Tahap praoperasional dimulai dari usia dua tahun hingga tujuh tahun. Pada Tahap ini anak-anak sudah dapat berperilaku sopan. Praoperasional adalah tahap dimana anak sudah mulai mencoba membedakan apa yangbaik dan buruk apalagi sudah memasuki fase praoperasional konkret yaitu anak mulai memahami beberapa aturan yang berlaku di rumah atau sekolah. Tingkat kesopanan juga telah diterapkan dengan lebih baik. Ada beberapa prinsip kesantunan yang bisa dijadikan pedoman dalam menjalankan kehidupan sosial. maxim yang banyak digunakan adalah maxim kemurahan hati, anak-anak sudah mengerti tentang makna berbagi karena sejak kecil orang tua mereka mengajarkan tentang makna berbagi yang kemudian mereka praktikkan langsung di sekolah.maksim pendekatan dan maksim kebijaksanaan jarang digunakan oleh anak-anak karena mereka belum mampu menerapkan kedua maksim dalam bersosialisasi dan berinteraksi di lingkungan sekitar.

Abstract

Politeness principle is part of pragmatics study, and it takes place as the youngest in a branch of linguistics. Pragmatics focuses in relation to situations of speech that is influenced by the speakers, addressees and context. By the time childrens politeness getting lesser because of the lack on parental guidance and assistance to the children on the use of smart phones, television program and through internet. Parents tend to be busy either with their own smart phones or their job respectively. Children on preoperational phase of 2-7 years of age need assistance and also emphasized on politenss compensation from their parents. In this phase the child is so easy to absorb information, mimicking all the good behavior of the family environment or the surrounding community.This study uses qualitative descriptive method supported by distributing questionnaires and interview as an instrument to collect data and will be used as a main data. Samples were children 2-7 years old who are in school Yayasan Bina Amal at Jl. Kyai Saleh No. 8 Mugassari city of Semarang. They are students who are in Kindergarten and Primary school 1.Stage activities are starting with the implementation of the pre field, field, analysis and preparation of reports. The purpose of this study is to see the extent to which children in the age in politeness compensation preoperational as the development of pragmatic science studies. The result is the use Leech politeness principle got quite fulfilled. Discretion maxim usage among others (12%), politeness maxim (10%), praise maxim (20%), modesty maxim (18%), loyalty maxim (20%), sympathy maxim (20%). In addition to the percentage of the use in maxim, the closeness between mother and child greatly affect in parenting and the impact on the ability to perform speech.

Abstract

Maraknya tayangan serial televisi dari negara India membuat penikmat televisi tidak inginmelewatkan cerita per episodenya, dari tayangan anak-anak sampai dewasa semuanya ada. Judulserial “ BALVEER” dipilih sebagai sumber data karena serial ini banyak diminati oleh anakanak.Tujuan penelitian ini antara lain untuk mengetahui sejauh mana pemerolehan bahasaterhadap tayangan serial “Balveer”, baik dilihat dari segi kebahasaan phonology, Sintaksis,Semantik dan Pragmatik berdasarkan metode kualitatif dengan metode pendukung studi kasus.Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh yaitu; dari segi phonolgy anak-anak sudah lancar melafalkan /r/dengan jelas. Secara sintaksis mereka sudah mampu menghasilkan frasa adjekif, nomina danadverbia, dari jenis kalimat, mereka sudah bisa membuat kalimat sederhana bahkan kalimatmajemuk. Dari segi semantik, anak-anak sangat mampu membuat generalisasi dan memaknaisebuah kata dengan tepat, mereka tidak mengalami kesulitan dalm menggenarilasasi sebuahmakna kata. secara pragmatik anak-anak telah mampu menggunakan deikses dalam penggunaanpercakapan sehari-hari. Mereka mampu menerapkan dalam percakapan formal dan non formal,percakapan dengan orang tua ataupun dengan teman sebaya..Kata Kunci: Pemerolehan Bahasa, tayangan televisi, Balveer

Abstract

 In traditional Chinese culture, patriarchy is a system adopted by its people. This system is based on Confucian school. It then influents values, rules, philosophy, relations and ways of life of traditional Chinese people. In its actual application, woman is subordinate to man.They always oppressed by this system. This paper describes images of power female figure in relation to others, both within the family or society in their culture. By doing close reading, it can be assumed  that there are efforts to prosecute her rights as a full human beings. This female character has been oppressed by system, but she has power to take actions by showing her attitude to refuse discriminative treatment from society dominated by patriarchal system. Although at last she  is not completely successful, but there are efforts based on her own initiative to fight the discrimination and some changes for her rights.Keywords: Lihun, divorce, Chinese culture, feminism, Luxun

Abstract

: Literature is often considered as a reflection of society’s real life. It also depicts some life’s aspect such as social, culture, thought, and belief. In Lu Xun’s “New Year’s Sacrifice”, those aspects are represented in words, sentences, and paragraphs. To get a deeper comprehension of it, people need to understand signs and symbols which author used. This paper aims to explain how literature can describe Chinese traditional culture and thought, especially about women, with semiotic approach by identifying any sign used in it. The result of this research shows that Chinese women are inferior in society. They are not worthy unless able to bear a son, so the continuation of the husband’s family can be preserved. Besides, women in China have to live with so many rules and obligations that society has created for them.

Abstract

Character’s emotions in a romantic novel, the ones represented either through its characters, can be used to analyze the psychological conditions of its characters. The personality condition of a character can be analyzed deeply using the theory of personality system and ego defense mechanism. It also can be applied to Putri Lanhsiang, one of the characters in Putri Bunga Meihua. Her personality system and effort to defend her ego to overcome her anxiety and traumatic experience can be seen clearly using psychoanalytic theory. Several ways such as repression, sublimation, fixation, and self-defense are cathexis used to defend her ego.Keywords: Ego defense mechanism, trauma, personality, fixation,sublimation

Abstract

Song is one of the propaganda media for ideolgy. Beyonce Knowless's song “Run the World (girls)” is an example of a song that raises the issue of Black Feminism Thought. This paper will discuss how textual and discursive practices through the signs in the text of the song lyrics and video clips of the song in constructing the paradigm of black women power or black feminism thought. By interpreting the structure of the text in the lyrics of the song and the visual signs in the video clip of the song "Run the World (girls)" to find meaning and ideology reproduced in the song. The results show that the dialectic of verbal and visual signs represents black women power and to bolster black women to become well-respected women especially by black men. The presence of this song is also related to the black feminist movement which propagates their ideology through song media. The independence of black women in the economic and educational aspectss, as well as the ability to bare children are discourses that are reproduced by the singer to make social changes in black women’s live.Keywords: Black woman, discourse, hermeneutics, ideology, Paul Ricouer

Abstract

Reformasi Empat Mei 1919 membuat wacana kesetaraan gender dan nilai-nilai Barat menjadi sangat populer dalam dunia sastra Cina. Sebagai salah tokoh utama dalam sastra Cina modern, Lu Xun aktif menyuarakan pandangannya tentang pemikiran Barat dan perempuan baru dalam berbagai tulisannya. Ia secara paradoks merespons isu perempuan baru dan modernisasi yang kemudian memunculkan pertanyaan bagaimana sebenarnya ideologi Lu Xun tentang perempuan dan bagaimana Lu Xun menyikapi kontestasi wacana tradisional dan modern pada periode Empat Mei. Makalah ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis ideologinya tentang perempuan Cina baru dan modernisme dengan menggunakan metode analisis wacana kritis Norman Fairclough, terutama dalam teks dan intertekstual. Perspektif tersebut dianalisis dari praktik tekstual dan praktik diskursif yang tampak pada cerpen “Persembahan Tahun Baru”, “Keluarga Bahagia”, “Menyesali Masa Lalu”, “Sabun”, dan sebuah esai “Nuola Zou Hou Zenmeyang”. Dari hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa Lu Xun bernegosiasi dengan nilai-nilai Barat dan nilai-nilai tradisional. Ia mentransformasi nilai-nilai Barat dan tradisionalisme Cina menjadi ideologi yang lebih sesuai dengan budaya Cina. Dengan menggunakan prinsip “Zhong Yong” (Jalan Tengah) dari Konfusianisme, ia membuat transformasi ini. Bagi Lu Xun, “jalan tengah” merupakan solusi untuk mengharmonisasi masyarakat dan mencapai emansipasi wanita. (The May Fourth Reform in 1919 made the discourse of gender equality and Western values become more popular in Chinese literary world. As one of the Chinese prominent literary figures, Lu Xun actively delivered his paradigm on Western thought and new women in his writings. He paradoxically responded to the new women's issue and modernization which then raised the question of what was his ideology of women and how he responded to traditional and modern discourse contestation in the May Fourth period. This paper is aimed at analyzing his ideology on the new Chinese women and modernism by applying Norman Fairclough’s critical discourse analysis method, especially in textual and intertextuality. The perspective is analyzed from the textual and discursive practices in the short stories of "New Year Offering", “Happy Family”, “Soap”,”Regret for The Past”, and an essay “Noula Zou Hou Zenmeyang”. The results of the study can be concluded that Lu Xun negotiated with Western values and traditional values. He transformed modernism based on Western values and Chinese traditionalism into an ideology which suited more to Chinese culture. Using Confusian’s "Zhong Yong" principle (Doctrine of the Mean), Lu Xun made this transformation. To Lu Xun, “the middle way” is the solution to harmonize society and achieve women emancipation.)
