Abstract

This study aimed to develop Video Blog as Teaching Media for Students of Multimedia Programme. This study was conducted by using Research and Development (R & D).Instruments for collecting data were syllabus, questionnaire and interview. The data was gathered by administering interview to the teacher and distributing questionnaires to the students. The result of this study was developed Video Blog   which contained explanation, students’ activities and the example of report text in spoken.The average scores of media’s assesment were 4.04 from English teacher and 4.56 from English lecturer. It means the developed Video Blog as Teaching Media were categorized as very good or very appropriate for students of Multimedia Programme.  Key words: Report text, Research and Development (R&D), Report Text

Abstract

The wonder of the nearness of social media and mass media may be a result of the exceptional improvement of data and communication innovation. With a assortment of administrations that can be utilized, social media has changed the way we communicate in society. The nearness of social media indeed has an affect on the way we communicate in all areas, such as showcasing communication, political communication, and communication in learning frameworks. This is certainly interesting to study by analyzing the effectiveness of social media in maritime English. Through data collection techniques through literal studies (library studies). The literature study was conducted by collecting secondary data related to topics and problems related to the use of Analysis of the Application of Effectiveness of Social Media Communication in Maritime English. By analyzing data sources regarding social media, the use of social and mass media as a means of developing communication in maritime English. With the aim of looking at the effectiveness of social and mass media in maritime English communication.

Abstract

The aims of this study were to investigate the techniques translating choices found in translated covered lyrics of “Melukis Senja”, “Maafkan Aku”, and “Cuek” by Emma Heesters. The study was conducted by using a content analysis research. The data of this study were taken from the lyrics of “Melukis Senja”, “Maafkan Aku”, and “Cuek”. The data of this study were the translated lyrics songs that appeared in “Melukis Senja”, “Maafkan Aku”, and “Cuek” songs. The data analysis was taken by observing, take notes, make a table the data based on the theory proposed by Franzon and Low. There are four kinds of translating choices techniques found in Emma Heesters covered lyrics. The result of analysis for each kind of translation choices were: Leaving the song untranslated, there were 1, Writing new lyrics but not taking the music into account, there were 8, Translating the lyrics and adapting the music accordingly, there were 26, and Adapting the translation to the original music, there were 22.
