Abstract

A b s t r a c tThe purpose of this research is to analyze changing behavior of tourists as an effect of the COVID-19 pandemic. One of the changes in tourist behavior during the COVID-19 pandemic is how tourists perceive the image of a tourist destination they visit during the pandemic. This study will explore more deeply changes in tourist perceptions of the new normal attribute destination image by adding a health protocol implementation dimension as a new dimension in measuring attribute destination image. The survey was conducted on 163 tourists who had already made tourist visits in new normal conditions. To determine the dimensions and measurements of the attribute destination image in new normal conditions, this research data analysis technique uses Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA). The results of the study found that the health protocol implementation dimension was able to be part of the measurement of the new normal attribute destination image. Based on the results of this study, every tourist destination needs to consider health protocol implementation so that it can begin to adapt to changing tourist behavior as a result of the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.A b s t r a kTujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis perubahan perilaku wisatawan sebagai dampak dari pandemi COVID-19. Abstract

Indonesia has great potential in the tourism sector, including halal tourism, such as in West Java. Technological developments and digitalization permeating various sectors can influence people's interest in traveling, including Generation Z. This study aims to analyze the factors affecting Generation Z's desire to visit halal tourism destinations in West Java. This study investigates the factors according to the Theory of Perceived Behavior or TPB (subjective norms, attitude towards behavior, and perceived behavioral control), spiritual considerations (religiosity), and digital promotion (electronic word-of-mouth). Furthermore, the study incorporates halal literacy as a moderating variable, assessing its impact on the TPB's influence on tourist intention to visit halal tourism destinations. This study employed an online questionnaire, collecting data from 219 respondents. The gathered data was subsequently analyzed using the Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Square (PLS-SEM). The findings reveal that perceived behavioral control, electronic world-of-mouth, and halal literacy have a significant and positive effect on Generation Z's interest in visiting halal tourism destinations in West Java. However, subjective norms, attitudes toward behavior, and religiosity did not have a significant effect. Moreover, halal literacy also failed to moderate the relationship between TPB and behavioral intention in this study. A strategy is needed to develop halal literacy combined with online media tools to promote halal tourism in West Java.

Abstract

This paper investigates the phenomenon and factors that influence quiet quitting behavior that is happening in millennial and Z generation workers. Quiet quitting is employee behavior that chooses to work moderately according to the tasks that have been given. Several previous research results found that this behavior can be anticipated by increasing job satisfaction which is influenced by empowering leadership, organizational culture, and work overload. This research was designed with a survey method and using a quantitative approach. Data collection in this study used online questionnaires distributed to workers in the age range of millennial and Z generations. The data analysis technique used in this research is Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) with AMOS software. The number of samples in this study was 600 respondents. The respondents are dominated by workers on the islands of Java and Sumatra and the rest are from other regions in Indonesia. The findings of this research highlight the negative effect of job satisfaction towards quiet quitting behavior in millennial and Z workers. Another result of this study is that there is a positive effect of empowering leadership and organizational culture on job satisfaction, while work overload have a negative effect on job satisfaction. The research results are useful information for planning strategies to retain employees and provide their best performance at work. These findings are significant to measure the factors that influence job satisfaction of millennial and generation Z employees so that they do not quiet quitting or leaving the company.

Abstract

Objective: This paper examines the influence of empowering leadership on positive worker behavior and work productivity in various organizational settings. Design/Methods/Approach: This study used a survey-based quantitative design with a causal predictive approach. Partial least squares-structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) analysis was conducted on a research sample of 268 employees from various profit and non-profit organizations. Respondents were at least 18 years old. Findings: The findings reveal that empowering leadership positively relates to creative, collaborative, and innovative behavior. Creative and collaborative behavior affects positively to work productivity, whereas worker innovative behavior does not affect work productivity. Originality/Value: This study is one of the first to apply the S-O-R theory in the context of empowering leadership and its influence on positive worker behavior and work productivity. By using this framework, the research explores new dimensions of leadership impact in organizational behavior, offering valuable insights for human resource management in diverse settings. This research captures how empowering leadership (stimulus) influences employee behavior (organism) and subsequent work productivity (response). Practical/Policy implication: The result of this study is useful for HR managers seeking to enhance employee work productivity and innovation through leadership strategies. By adopting an empowering leadership style, HR managers can foster positive behaviors such as creativity and collaboration, which ultimately lead to higher organizational performance.

Abstract

The phenomenon of e-commerce use is experiencing rapid growth among the public, causing high competition between e-commerce companies in Indonesia. Shopee is one of the e-commerce companies that is experiencing this competition, experiencing a decline in the number of users and suffering losses of up to 115% during 2021-2022 due to the presence of many new e-commerce platforms. This research aims to examine the influence of user interface and security on customer loyalty with user experience as a mediating variable on the Shopee e-commerce platform in Indonesia. This research uses a survey method with a quantitative approach. The analytical tool used is Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with AMOS version 24 software. Research data was obtained from respondents using a questionnaire that was distributed to 215 Shopee customers in Indonesia. The results show that user interface and security influence user experience, which in turn influences customer loyalty. User experience also acts as a mediator in the relationship between user interface and security on customer loyalty. This research provides theoretical and practical contributions to the development of e-commerce service management strategies that consumers need and want.

Abstract

The development of research paradigms in economics and business has shifted from traditional positivist approaches to interpretive, constructivist, and critical perspectives. These paradigms allow for broader and more contextual exploration but often face data collection and integration limitations. Mixed methods have subsequently emerged as a research strategy that combines the strengths of quantitative and qualitative approaches to achieve a more comprehensive understanding. This article explores the significance of employing mixed methods in research within economics and business, particularly in human resource management (HRM). Integrating objective numerical data with in-depth qualitative insights in mixed methods is regarded as a solution to the limitations of traditional paradigms, offering enhanced validity through data triangulation. Examples of implementation across various HRM contexts from the restaurant industry in Korea to studies on knowledge-sharing behavior in Portugal illustrate how mixed methods contribute to richer insights into structural and human factors within organizations.
