Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the smart wheel game tool on the ability to recognize numbers in children aged 5-6 years at TK Negeri Pembina 1 Medan. This type of research is experimental research with a Pre-Experimental Design, in the form of a One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The population in the study were 5 class B, then the sample for this study used a non-probability sampling technique. The sample in this study were Kindergarten B children, totaling 16 people. Data collection using the instrument sheet. The data analysis technique uses non-parametric statistics with a sample sign test ≤ 25. The test results show that the APE of the smart wheel has a significant effect on the ability to recognize numbers in children with the criteria of testing the hypothesis if H0 is accepted 0.05≤ probability of sample results, H0 is rejected if 0 .05 > sample outcome probability. The results of the hypothesis test are 0.05> 0.0021, it is proven that H0 is rejected, meaning that there is a significant increase in the child's ability to recognize numbers before and after treatment using the APE smart wheel. Thus it can be concluded that there is a significant effect of the use of the smart wheel APE on the ability to recognize numbers in children aged 5-6 years at TK Negeri Pembina 1 Medan T.A 2022/2023. Based on the results of this study, it is suggested for PAUD teachers to be able to use the smart wheel APE in introducing numbers to children.

Abstract

This research aims to; 1) Find out how the results of the validation of the Environment-Based Pop Up Book media were developed to help beginning reading skills in children aged 5-6 in Kindergarten ABA 05 Medan. 2) To find out whether the practicality of the Pop Up Book media developed is appropriate to be used to assist beginning reading skills in children aged 5-6 years at ABA 05 Kindergarten Medan. The research method used is Research and Development (R&D), using the ADDIE model development, referring to (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). The subjects in the study were group B students at TK ABA 05 Medan, to be precise, class B3 with 9 boys and 4 girls, while the research object was Pop Up Book media using assessment instruments from the validation of material experts and media experts, as well as the practicality of classroom teacher. The results of the material expert validator and media expert obtained the percentage of all aspects of the media by 95% with the very valid category, while the total percentage of media practicality test scores was 83% with the very practical category. The results of this study were successful in developing a product in the form of an Environment-Based Pop Up Book learning media aimed at helping the beginning reading skills of children aged 5-6 years in Kindergarten ABA 05 Medan. The conclusion of this study is that the developed Environment-Based Pop Up Book media is in a valid and practical category.

Abstract

The teacher-centered approach has led students to feel bored and uninterested in the taught material. By choosing an appropriate learning model, it is hoped that a better understanding and interest in students will emerge, fostering a deep learning motivation. In this study, the chosen learning models were Two Stay Two Stray and Inquiry. The objectives of this research were: 1) to determine the difference in Civic Education learning outcomes between student groups taught with the Two Stay Two Stray and Inquiry learning models, 2) to examine the difference in Civic Education learning outcomes between student groups with high and low learning motivation, and 3) to investigate the interaction between the learning model and learning motivation in influencing Civic Education learning outcomes. The research was conducted at SDN 091713 Amborokan, involving fourth-grade students as the research sample. The research method employed was experimental research, utilizing a 2x2 factorial design. There were two classes involved in the study: an experimental class (IV-A) and a control class (IV-B). Data collected included Civic Education learning outcomes and student motivation data. The results of the research indicated that: 1. the learning strategy significantly influenced Civic Education learning outcomes with an F value of 58.775, 2. learning motivation significantly influenced Civic Education learning outcomes with an F value of 92.04, and 3. there was an interaction between the learning strategy and learning motivation significantly affecting Civic Education learning outcomes with an F value of 4.09. This study concludes that the selection of an appropriate learning model positively influences learning outcomes and motivation in students. It is recommended that teachers, as facilitators, should be capable of choosing suitable teaching methods to create an effective learning environment.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to analyze the contribution of: (1) work discipline to teacher performance; (2) work motivation to teacher performance; (3) work environment to performance; and (4) discipline, work motivation, and work environment simultaneously to teacher performance. The research was carried out at state elementary schools in Rantau Utara District, Labuhanbatu Regency. The research population was 396 teachers, and the research sample was 162 teachers. The sampling technique employed in the study involved the use of Isaac and Michael tables along with probability sampling methods. The results of research on simultaneous performance are 80.51%, 3.74%, and 15.76%, meaning that work discipline is the most dominant factor in influencing teacher performance. Teachers who are disciplined in carrying out their duties, show high commitment, are able to manage their time well, and comply with established rules and procedures. Even though the percentage is small, work motivation is an important factor in improving teacher performance. Teachers who have high work motivation will be encouraged to work more enthusiastically, creatively, and innovatively in teaching. A conducive and supportive work environment can help improve teacher performance by providing adequate facilities and infrastructure, creating a positive work atmosphere, and providing opportunities for teachers to develop themselves professionally. Teachers who demonstrate a high level of work discipline tend to contribute to increased performance in carrying out tasks; teachers who have work motivation tend to contribute positively to increased teacher performance; and a conducive work environment tends to contribute to increased overall teacher performance.

Abstract

Effective communication between teachers and students is an important key in improving learning outcomes and student motivation, especially at an early age. This research aims to find out what teachers' experiences are in carrying out effective educational communication with young children. The research method used was descriptive qualitative by conducting interviews with one of the Kindergarten teachers at An Nizam Islamic School Medan who had good communication when teaching early childhood. The research results show that teachers who are effective in educational communication have the ability to use various communication strategies, such as using simple and clear language, using images and symbols, and providing constructive feedback. Apart from that, teachers must also have the ability to understand students' needs and interests, and be aware of the importance of effective communication in improving learning outcomes. In synthesis, this research shows that the teacher's ability to carry out effective educational communication is very important in improving learning outcomes and motivation of early childhood (AUD).

Abstract

Introduction: An essential part of Indonesia's National Education Standards are the infrastructure and facilities for education. All formal and informal educational institutions are required to provide facilities that assist students' physical, intellectual, social, emotional, and psychological development, as stipulated in Article 45 of the National Education System Law No. 20 of 2003. Objective: In order to create a school facilities and infrastructure management model that is focused on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), this project will integrate the 5S Kaizen industrial work culture into vocational schools (SMK Negeri) in the Bireuen Regency. It also assesses how useful and successful the model is at streamlining school facility management. Method: The study used Plomp's model as part of its Research & Development (R&D) process, which consisted of five stages: analysis, design, development, implementation, and assessment. Principals, vice principals, heads of expertise programs, workshop leaders, administrative leaders, and effective teachers were among the participants. Validated by expert evaluations, implementation observations, response surveys, and competency tests, the research tools included a model book, an implementation manual, and a module guide. Results: The average validation scores for the generated model were 4.57 (model), 4.62 (implementation handbook), and 4.63 (module guide), indicating strong validity. Positive participant response rates in trials I and II were 85.91% and 86.31%, respectively, indicating that classical completeness was attained. The N-Gain analysis classified its effectiveness as moderate, showing competency gains of 61.75% and 62.21%. Conclusion: The model promotes ongoing advancement in vocational education by encouraging an organized, industry-based approach to SDG-aligned school facility management. For policymakers and school administrators working in vocational education settings, this study offers a novel paradigm for incorporating industrial methodologies—specifically, 5S Kaizen—into the administration of educational infrastructure.

Abstract

Abstrak Alat Permainan Edukatif (APE) menjadi salah satu sarana penting dalam media pembelajaran anak usia dini, namun masih banyak guru PAUD yang menghadapi keterbatasan dalam kreativitas mengembangkan dan memanfaatkannya secara optimal. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan, pengalaman, keterampilan, dan sikap guru PAUD Cempaka Desa Pantai Labu Pekan melalui kegiatan pendampingan pembuatan APE. Metode pelaksanaan meliputi tahap persiapan, pelaksanaan kegiatan, dan evaluasi. Mitra sasaran terdiri atas 11 guru PAUD Cempaka Desa Pantai Labu Pekan. Hasil menunjukkan adanya peningkatan skor rata-rata post-test dibandingkan pre-test, serta uji Wilcoxon mengonfirmasi terdapat perbedaan signifikan. Perihal ini menunjukkan bahwa pendampingan pembuatan APE efektif meningkatkan pengetahuan, pengalaman, keterampilan, dan sikap guru PAUD. Pendekatan berbasis praktik dan kolaborasi terbukti memperkuat kompetensi guru serta mendukung pembelajaran yang lebih kreatif dan sesuai kebutuhan anak usia dini. Kata kunci: pendampingan; pembuatan; alat permainan edukatif; anak usia dini. Abstract Educational Toys (APE) are an important tool in early childhood education, but many early childhood teachers still face limitations in their creativity in developing and utilizing them optimally. This community service activity aims to enhance the knowledge, experience, skills, and attitudes of early childhood education teachers at Cempaka PAUD, Pantai Labu Pekan, through a mentoring program for the creation of APE. The implementation method comprises three stages: preparation, activity execution, and evaluation. The target participants consist of 11 early childhood education teachers at Cempaka PAUD, Pantai Labu Pekan. The results showed an increase in the average post-test score compared to the pre-test, and the Wilcoxon test confirmed a significant difference. This indicates that the APE creation mentoring program effectively improved the knowledge, experience, skills, and attitudes of early childhood education teachers. The practice-based and collaborative approach proved to strengthen teachers' competencies and support more creative and child-centered learning. Keywords: mentoring; creation; educational toys; early childhood.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis penerapan kode etik dan profesionalisme guru di TK ABA 33 dalam proses pembelajaran. Guru memiliki peran penting dalam menciptakan lingkungan belajar yang kondusif serta menjadi teladan bagi peserta didik melalui sikap, perilaku, dan tanggung jawab profesional. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara dan dokumentasi. Subjek penelitian adalah salah satu guru di TK ABA 33. Data dianalisis menggunakan teknik reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa guru di TK ABA 33 telah berupaya menerapkan kode etik dan profesionalisme dalam menjalankan tugas sebagai pendidik. Penerapan tersebut terlihat dari kemampuan guru menjaga sikap dan ucapan, memberikan penilaian secara adil, menyesuaikan pembelajaran dengan kebutuhan peserta didik, serta melakukan evaluasi diri terhadap proses pembelajaran. Selain itu, kerja sama antarguru juga menjadi faktor pendukung dalam meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran dan profesionalisme guru. Meskipun demikian, pengembangan kompetensi dan evaluasi secara berkelanjutan masih perlu dilakukan agar kualitas pendidikan menjadi lebih optimal

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan kondisi sarana dan prasarana di TK ABA 10 serta dampaknya terhadap proses pembelajaran anak usia dini. Penelitian menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa fasilitas pembelajaran di TK ABA 10 masih terbatas, terutama pada ketersediaan media teknologi, alat permainan edukatif (APE), ruang kelas, area bermain, dan bahan literasi anak. Keterbatasan tersebut memengaruhi fokus anak selama pembelajaran, terutama ketika kegiatan berlangsung secara monoton dan kurang melibatkan media konkret. Guru mengatasi kondisi tersebut melalui pemanfaatan bahan alam, seperti daun kering, ranting, batu kerikil, dan biji-bijian sebagai media pembelajaran alternatif. Strategi ini membantu meningkatkan keterlibatan anak, mengurangi kejenuhan, dan mendukung kegiatan bermain sambil belajar. Penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa pengelolaan sarana dan prasarana PAUD perlu dilakukan secara bertahap, kreatif, dan sesuai kebutuhan perkembangan anak

Abstract

Profesionalisme guru merupakan salah satu faktor penentu keberhasilan proses pembelajaran dan peningkatan prestasi siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) mengetahui upaya guru dalam meningkatkan profesionalisme di sekolah, (2) mengidentifikasi faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi profesionalisme guru dalam proses pembelajaran, dan (3) mengetahui pengaruh profesionalisme guru terhadap peningkatan prestasi siswa di SD Pelangi Medan. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa observasi partisipatif, wawancara mendalam, dan dokumentasi. Subjek penelitian adalah guru kelas IA SD Pelangi Medan. Analisis data dilakukan melalui tahapan reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa guru di SD Pelangi Medan telah melakukan berbagai upaya peningkatan profesionalisme, meliputi: pengembangan kompetensi pedagogik melalui penyusunan perangkat pembelajaran yang terstruktur, penerapan metode pembelajaran inovatif, serta peningkatan kompetensi profesional melalui program pelatihan dan musyawarah guru mata pelajaran. Faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi profesionalisme guru mencakup motivasi internal guru, dukungan kepala sekolah, ketersediaan sarana prasarana, dan keterlibatan orang tua. Penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa profesionalisme guru berkorelasi positif terhadap peningkatan prestasi akademik dan non-akademik siswa. Novelty penelitian ini terletak pada konteks sekolah dasar swasta di wilayah urban Medan dengan karakteristik sosial-demografis yang khas, yang belum banyak dikaji dalam penelitian sebelumnya.
