Abstract

Denpasar City is the capital of Bali Province which has a strategic location. Denpasar City is also famous for its cities which have many rivers. Bindu River as a place of recreation is one of the alternative outdoor recreation in Denpasar City. Bindu River has various facilities that can be used by visitors as a place of recreation. The facilities Bindu River area is still not in accordance with good standardization and placement that is not good. This study aims to maximize existing facilities by providing recommendations for facilities that are referenced through good standards and laying. The research method used is the survey method with observation techniques, interviews, documentation, questionnaires, and literature studies. The results of the study state that there are several facilities that have not followed good standardization and laying. Facilities available in the Bindu River area are: seating, trash cans, garden lights, toilets, culinary stands, gazebos, jogging tracks as well as recreational facilities such as mini soccer fields, physical games, tubing, sports equipment, and gymnastics area. Many visitor activities are carried out in the Bindu River area, but some of the facilities provided are in poor condition. The efforts made to improve the quality of facilities are by following the standards in the Time-Saver Standards for Landscape Architecture.

Abstract

Blind pedestrian perception and preference of comfort at pedestrian walkway at Panglima Besar Sudirman Street, Denpasar City. The main problem for the blind is limited public facilities in Indonesia. Denpasar is the capital province of Bali, so the need of physical infrastructure is very important. The aim of this research was to identify and evaluate the existing condition of the pedestrian path that is related to the comfort aspect, and to know the perception and preference of the blind pedestrian user to the comfort of the pedestrian path at Jalan P. B Sudirman Denpasar, and to recommend the accessibility model as supporting the needs and rights for those blind people. The research method were survey method with observation technique, questionnaires, and literature study. The inconsistency of pedestrian size and elevation between 15 – 35 cm of one of the causes of pedestrian walkway was considered unfit for use by the disadvantage people, thus the pedestrian lane space scenario at Jalan P. B Sudirman Denpasar is to make the pedestrian path as a mobilization path that is easily accessible to everyone and optimally in its utilization. The results of this study are expected to be a consideration for the parties concerned in the related development.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Mapping Visual Quality Landscape of Gunung Kawi Temple Tourism Object in Tampaksiring - Gianyar. Visual quality landscape depends not only on the physical characteristics of the landscape, but also on the subjective judgment of the individual observers. Visual quality of the landscape can be assessed from the observer's response after seeing the appearance of an object that would lead to the perception of the observer. The research objective criteria for determining the visual quality of the tourist landscape of "good" in particular tourist landscape Gunung Kawi Temple in Tampaksiring, then the point location will be mapped to facilitate tourists taking photos of documentation to capture every moment of their attractions. Theoretically, this research can be used as well as baseline information in an effort to acquire knowledge related to the visual quality of the landscape, especially regarding the visual quality of tourist landscape. Visual quality of the landscape that " good " that can meet the three areas of professional experts or the general good of the people is “a visual quality that is easily understood when one sees , in a vantage point where the tape contained a story that can provide information in a straightforward , have the impression living / soul / spirit will be able to describe the depth dimension , both visible by eye / recorded by the camera media without departing from the existing context and still refers to the basic rules of photography”.   Keywords: travel gunung kawi temple, visual quality landscape

Abstract

Bali is an agrarian island but the interests of Balinese people are very limited to the agricultural sector. Faculty of Agriculture-Udayana University is primarily responsible for improving human resources in agriculture and the development of the agricultural sector in Bali. One of the facilities owned by the faculty is experimental garden. In addition to being a center of education and research, the experimental garden is also expected to introduce the agricultural field through recreational activity to thel public. By developing experimental garden as a tourist destination requires a study to determine a tourist attraction. However, having a tourist attraction will not ensure if it is matched with the experimental garden management as well as the tourism development program. This study aims to plan agricultural landscape educational tourism (Edutani) in faculty experimental garden of Udayana University. The research method was conducted with Gold (1980) planning of recreation activity approach which is consist with some steps i.e. inventory, analysis, synthesis, concept and landscape plan. This research resulted a landscape plan for Faculty of Agriculture experiment garden for edutani tourism development.

Abstract

Maintenance plan for the Arma Ubud Museum park. Arma Museum is one of the attractions in Bali thatdisplays art the Balinese culture.The Arma Museum also includes the environment or landscapes in thetourism activities through a park covering an area of 1.5 Ha, so that the Arma museum needs to maintain andpreserve the existing park through well-planned park maintenance. The purpose of this research is to plan anideal garden maintenance program for the Arma museum park. The research method based on its purpose isresearch and development research methods. The data needed in the study include several aspects relatedto the formation of the Arma musuem park, namely; biotic and abiotic aspects, social aspects, economicaspects, as well as aspects of the physical maintenance of the park, and aspects of organizing themaintenance of the park. Data analysis used in this study is an analysis of the application of theory andSWOT analysis. Based on the biotic and abiotic aspects, the social aspects, the economic aspects that have been identified indicate the Arma museum park has a lot of potential that needs to be maximized, maintained,and preserved, but the aspect of physical maintenance of the park and the organizing aspects of themaintenance of Arma Musuem park are still not maximized, the results of the application analysis The theoryfound a gap between ideal action and actual action in the field, through the identified gaps, the plan fororganizing effective park maintenance was organized by reducing existing gaps, while the SWOT Analysisproduced seven recommendations for strategic plan.

Abstract

Feasibility evaluation of Janggan Park as child-friendly park. A park is a public space that should provide benefits to all users, including children. A benefit of a park for children is to fulfill their needs for a space that will stimulate their growth and development process. This research aims to evaluate the feasibility of the Janggan Park as a child-friendly park. The method of observation was used to obtain data of park facilities and literature study was also used to compile a list of child-friendly park criteria and assessment analysis. The criteria contained physical and non-physical principles that were applied to analyzed each playground. Physical and non-physical assessments on each park had values of suitability that ranged from inappropriate to appropriate. Based on the physical and non-physical suitability assessment. Janggan Park showed unfeasible results as a child-friendly park. Some recommendations were also suggested in order to improve the facility’s recommendations were also suggested in order to improve the children's playgrounds facilities quality and benefits towards children.

Abstract

Comparative study of Ciung Wanara traffic island in Gianyar with Satrya Gatotkaca traffic island In Tuban. Traffic island is an island in the middle of the road that serves to direct the flow of traffic and a waiting place for the user to cross the road. Traffic island of Ciung Wanara in Gianyar and Traffic island of Satrya Gatotkaca in Tuban had turned their function of being a place of recreation for the community. The purpose of this study is to invent existing condition of Ciung Wanara and Satrya Gatotkaca traffic island. This study also provides recommendations in the form of designs that can improve the function of the site. The method used in this research was field survey by conducting observation, distributing questioner and doing interview. Research showed that, users in Ciung Wanara traffic island were dominated by student while users who came to the traffic island Satrya Gatotkaca were dominated by employees. The selection of vegetation bettwen the traffic island of Ciung Wanara and traffic island of Satrya Gatotkaca very different. Vegetation in the traffic island of Ciung Wanara used more of large size vegetation that can block the view of the user of the vehicle, while the vegetation used in the traffic island of Satrya Gatotkaca use lower plants size. The recommendation given in both locations was to add access to traffic island of Ciung Wanara so as to make easier for users to find the right place to cross, while traffic island of Satrya Gatotkaca was arraged it crossing space for more convenient and secure for users to passed the crosswalk.

Abstract

City Park Service Distance: Case Study of Puputan Badung I Gusti Ngurah Made Agung Denpasar Park. This research is a preliminary work on finding out how a park has been functioned as a public facility to a city. It is aimed to find out Lapangan Puputan Badung service distance range as one of Denpasar city parks. Moreover, it is also to find out the characteristic uses of the park by its users. This case study uses a survey research method. Sample of respondents are chosen using accidental sampling technique with questionnaire as media of data collection. Research findings are analyzed spatially and descriptively as well. Result shows that most samples live within 5 km range from the park. The park has been used mostly for recreation and exercises. People within productive age have been dominated the use of the park. Duration people spend in the park is between 1 – 2 hours, however there is an interesting finding that 15% samples say that they spend 3 – 4 hours in the park. There is also a strong tendency that people uses the park as a group, meaning they might be there with family, relatives, or friends. More than 50% of user respondents are the park frequentvisitors. As conclusion, it can be stated that Lapangan Puputan Badung function the best to serve the dwellers within 5 km radius.

Abstract

Study of user perception in Janggan Park, Denpasar. Janggan Park is a park located in Denpasar City withdesigned like the janggan kite which was inaugurated on January 5, 2017 by the Vice Governor of Bali. Janggan park there is also a children's play ground and gym facilities. The purpose of this study is to measurethe visitor's perception of the beauty, comfort, and safety of Janggan Park in Denpasar and to provide someinput to the manager or agency concerned in order to improve the quality of the site. The method used in thisresearch was direct observation to the field, interview, and questionnaire. Based on the research conducted,the results showed that the perception of visitors about the beauty of Janggan Park was beautiful, but thereare some part in the garden were less beautiful, that is gym area. The visitor's perception of comfort at JangganPark was comfortable. Then, the visitor's perception about the secure at Janggan Park was safe. According tothe visitor perception of cleanliness at Janggan Park still less clean and need more attention on maintenance because cleanliness also influence the beauty, comfort, and visitor safety. It can be suggested that the managerneed to improve the hygiene, supervision, and to improve exsisting facility in Janggan Park.

Abstract

Traffic islands are parts of roads that cannot be passed by motorized vehicles, which include sidewalks, garbage dumps, plants, utilities, and signs. The traffic island park Titi Banda in Denpasar and the traffic island garden Dewa Ruci in Kuta have both the function of a traffic island and a landmark. Currently, the two traffic islands are getting additional functions, as a place for recreation and a place to turn around for vehicles.The purpose of this study are to inventory the existing conditions at both sites, compare the two traffic islands, and provide appropriate recommendations to maintain the main function of the two traffic islands. The method used in this research is a survey method, data collection method through observation, questionnaires and interviews. The results showed that the traffic island design for the Titi Banda park and the traffic island for the Dewa Ruci park were not in accordance with the references or regulations regarding traffic islands and roads. The existing conditions on both sites are divided into hardscape elements and softscape elements. Comparisons are made on the two traffic islands in terms of pedestrians, entrance access, vegetation and road facilities by referring to regulations, and literature related to traffic island. The recommendations given include the addition of block tiles and warning tiles for pedestrians, entry access, replacement of vegetation, and providing road facilities that can provide a sense of security and comfort for pedestrians and road users. In addition, the recommendations given can maintain the main function of the site as a traffic island and landmark for the island of Bali and increase convenience for road users and pedestrians.
