Abstract

Abstract

The roads hold a vital role in the transportation system in the Province of Papua, especially in the Jayapura area. However, real road conditions often experience a decrease in performance (damage) due to construction failures or deviant utilization. On Koti Road in Jayapura, sometimes vehicles passing it do not match the maximum permissible load. Consequently, excessive loading on the pavement can directly affect the design life of a road section. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the percentages of actual overload on each vehicle class, the increase in the cumulative VDF value, and the decrease in the design life on Koti Road, Jayapura. The research results indicated that the actual overload on Koti Road, Jayapura, obtained 81.06% for group 6a, 43.13% for group 6b, and 40.42% for group 7a. According to the Bina Marga method (1987), the cumulative VDF value increased by 133.8% due to actual excessive load in the field, while based on the NAASRA method (2004), it was 121.2%. In terms of the actual overload effects, the design life decreased by 9,273 years, or 46,365%, from the 20-year design life using the Bina Marga (1987) method, while based on the NAASRA (2004) method, the decrease in design life was 8.7898 years, or 43.949%, from the 20-year life plan. Abstract

Earthquake-resistant buildings are mandatory in Indonesia because of its high level of earthquake vulnerability. For this reason, the Swiss-Belhotel Darmo, Surabaya as a reference for evaluation, the researcher employed SNI 1726-2019 regarding the procedures to plan earthquake resistance for building and non-building structures. This regulation is widely used currently for planning the structure of buildings to substitute SNI 1726-2012 buildings. Pushover analysis is implemented to evaluate the structure to get the curves of pushover capacity, performance level, and displacement target based on FEMA 356 as well as the ductility occurring in the building structure. The evaluation results demonstrated that the mass participation in the 7th capital, the base shears of ɲx and ɲy were greater than 1, and thus, they have met the requirements. The Story drift did not meet the requirements because its value exceeded the permit limit. Shearwall's contribution fulfilled the requirement of more than 25%. Meanwhile, the control of time history obtained the basic shear results satisfying the requirements for all seismic forces, but the story drift value dissatisfied the requirements because it exceeded the permissible limit for Y seismic force and Y direction. The results of the pushover analysis yielded a drift ratio value of 0.01. Hence, according to FEMA 356, the level of performance was immediate occupancy.

Abstract

In the world of construction, waste is one of the factors that must be minimized or eliminated, because it can cause cost losses and time delays in the implementation of a construction project. Lean production concept approach using Value Stream Mapping (VSM) tools is a method that can be used to minimize waste that can be seen through value-added activities, non-value added but necessary. The scope of work that has a significant impact on the UBS Surabaya office building construction project consists of ironwork, concrete work, and formwork work on the superstructure, during the period from March to May 2021. In the scope of work identified Value Added amounting to 73 activities (61.34%), and Non-Value Added but Necessary totaling 26 activities (21.85%). There are several types of waste that occur during the implementation process,

Abstract

The problem of material waste in construction projects will be difficult to avoid as it goes along with construction waste. One of the unavoidable problems in a construction project is repeating work or reworking. Rework will also affect the emergence of waste. In a series of construction project activities, inventory is always required to anticipate needs in the ongoing construction project process. Without an inventory, a construction project will encounter the risk that one day it will not be able to meet its needs. This research aimed to determine the correlation between rework and inventory to waste at the Ciputra Hospital Surabaya construction project. It employed a quantitative method by collecting data through a questionnaire distributed to 30 respondents in the project environment. Data analysis involved multiple linear regression analyzes and the SPSS 25 software program. The results of the t-test showed that rework partially had a positive effect on waste with a t-count value of 8.528, while inventory also had a positive effect on waste with a t-count value of 8.661. Simultaneous test results indicated that rework and inventory had a significant effect on waste, with an F-count value of 37.442. Keywords: Waste; Rework; Inventory

Abstract

Construction work has a high risk of work accidents. The high number of occupational accidents and illnesses makes evaluating K3 performance in construction projects necessary. The research aims to determine differences in perceptions between contractors and supervisory consultants regarding the K3 performance of construction projects. The research uses a survey method by distributing questionnaires to contractors (Project Manager, Site Manager, Site Engineer, and K3 officers) and supervisory consultants (Inspector, Chief Inspector, K3 officers, Quantity Surveyor, and Quantity Estimator). Respondents used purposive sampling, which amounted to 31 people. The analysis uses an independent t-test. The results of this research explain that in the work safety variable, five sub-factors show differences in perception between contractors and supervisory consultants. In the work environment variable, three subfactors show differences in perception. However, regarding the occupational health variable, the two groups had no difference in perception. In reality, contractors' perceptions regarding the maintenance of construction equipment most influence K3 performance. Meanwhile, the supervisory consultant's perception emphasized the importance of K3 implementation instructions, an organized layout of work facilities, and good lighting.
