Abstract

The phenomenon of proactive environmental management began in the 1990's where manufacturing industries were aware  the importance of corporate sustainability through sustainable environmental management. Various strategies  can be done in a proactive environmental management. This study emphasized the development of conditions environmental performance companies  in minimizing waste, especially in production process that contains a lot of waste. The company has trying to implement a standardized EMS, through its own sludge wastewater treatment as a raw material for making bricks, while for solid waste (zinc dross and zinc ash), had been sold to external parties from the beginning. There isn’t recycling process, Galva furnace repair and improvement work on the system setting WWT or the WWTP. EMS implementation is strengthened through the acceptance of ISO 14000 in 2007. The condition of  Company's environmental performance related to waste minimization in the galvanizing process before and after implementing EMS was measured using input indicators (material), the input of water and energy use, and output of products in the form of waste (solid or sludge). The result did not correspond quantitatively with the indicators used in ISO 14000. Based on the quantitative result , a company processing  waste , did not change significantly.

Abstract

The aims of this study to identify the attributes of existing service quality on B Campus Library of Airlangga University as well as determine the level of priority level of each need by integrating models and Kano methods, Importance Performance Analysis, furthermore, it also identyifying the root causes of the three attributes of service quality on B Campus Library of Airlangga University were entered into the forth kuadrant by using Cause and Effect Diagram, and give recommendation for improvement based on problems identification by Cause and Effect Diagram. The approach used in this research  is a qualitative approach with the kind of descriptive research. Data used are primary and secondary data. Analysisi data used descriptive analysis with the help of IBM SPSS Statistics 20 and Microsoft Office Excel. This research used 23 atributes of service quality. The result of the classification of data qith kano’s mode; stated that 22 atributes   of service quality. The results of the classification of data with Kano's model stated that 22 atributes are included into attractive category. Because none of attributes were included into the indifferent category, all of the attributes can be used in the integration of Kano's model and IPA methods. From the integration, comes three attributes of service quality that included into concentrate here area; the availbility of fast connection wifi and internet facilities, friendly, polite, orderly, and neat in officer services, and the availability of clean toilet facilities. The root of the problem cause the lack of quality in three attributes identified by Cause and Effect Diagram based on interviews with the B Campus Library of Airlangga University and also based on the author's observation results. Based on the identification of the three atributes with the quality of service, proposed recommendation to fix problem on each attributes. The recommendation includes several root of the problem, such as man, methods, equipment, and environment

Abstract

This study aims to analyze Human Resource Management (HRM) practices in Islamic philanthropic institutions, specifically focusing on zakat and waqf organizations. The research utilizes bibliometric analysis, sourcing data from the Scopus database and employing tools such as Biblioshiny and VOSviewer to map trends, identify gaps, and suggest improvements. The results show a lack of integration between modern HRM practices and Islamic ethical principles, as well as a shortage of empirical studies addressing the impact of HRM on organizational performance. Additionally, there is a lack of longitudinal research exploring long-term impacts, such as employee retention and organizational sustainability. The study recommends adopting strategic talent management, comprehensive employee development programs, and performance management systems that align Islamic values with modern HRM practices. The implications of this research are that these strategies are essential for improving organizational efficiency and sustainability, as well as creating a positive work environment rooted in Islamic ethics. Future research should explore these approaches to develop tailored HRM frameworks for Islamic philanthropic institutions.

Abstract

This study aims to identify waste that occurs in the casting process of the project carried out by CV. Wishitama using value stream analysis tools (VALSAT) and provide suggestions for improvements with fishbone diagrams for the casting process of the project carried out by CV. Wishitama. This study uses a qualitative approach and case study with value stream analysis tools (VALSAT) and fishbone diagram analysis. The results of this study are that there are four types of waste that are prioritized for elimination, namely, overprocessing, defective products, queues, and motion. This study will provide new contributions to knowledge in the field of lean construction, with a focus on the construction industry. The results of this study will complement existing knowledge and provide new insights into how the application of lean construction can eliminate waste in the construction industry. Companies can eliminate and be effective in waiting for heavy equipment (readymix and concrete pumps) and vibrating equipment during casting. In addition, companies can increase direct supervision, conduct additional training, conduct evaluations, implement a reward or punishment system according to employee performance, plan efficient schedules, assign employees according to needs, and conduct outreach on current employee performance as a form of effort to improve human resources.

Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to quantify and scrutinize the caliber of public transportation services through meticulous application of the Public Transportation Quality (P-TRANSQUAL) framework. Methodology: The proposed research method involves a qualitative approach that integrates the use of Public Transportation Service Quality (PTSQ) and fishbone diagrams. The research population consisted of users of PO Moedah services, selected randomly based on predetermined inclusion criteria, including diverse age groups, gender, occupation, and monthly income range. Results: The empirical findings suggest that, while functionally proficient, the public transportation services administered by PO Moedah are not immune to deficiencies, warranting remedial intervention. Conclusions: He need for public transportation services in Indonesia is very high because people want time efficiency and a reduction in problems such as congestion and accidents.Limitations: The study was limited by subjective customer opinions and potential sample bias due to inclusion criteria such as age and income. Additionally, the findings are specific to PO Moedah's area and offer only a snapshot in time, limiting the generalizability and long-term relevance.Contribution: This study offers practical insights for PO Moedah to improve services and demonstrates the use of the P-TRANSQUAL framework to assess public-transportation quality. It highlights the importance of customer satisfaction and promotes sustainable urban transportation by addressing key issues, such as fuel consumption and traffic congestion.

Abstract

This research aims to identify external factors that influence purchase intention in the use of social media for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in emerging markets, focusing on how user attitudes towards social media marketing strategies can influence consumer intentions to purchase MSME products. Quantitative approach is used with an explanatory research type, by collecting survey data from 413 social media users who engage with MSME products in East Java, Indonesia. Data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) to determine the significance of each factor. The results show that interactivity, informativeness, word of mouth (WOM), personalization, trendiness, entertainment, usefulness, and flow experience significantly positively affect Purchase Intention. Conversely, Irritation has a negative effect. User attitude towards social media is an important mediating factor that strengthens the influence of these variables on purchase intention, suggesting that positive experiences on social media can increase consumers' likelihood of purchase. Limitation of this study is conducted only within specific geographical area (East Java), which may affect the generalizability of the results. Further research can be conducted with a broader sample to validate these findings in other regions and markets. This research provides insights into the role of social media attributes and user experience in driving Purchase Intention in the MSME sector in emerging markets. It highlights the importance of positive user attitudes, thus filling the research gap regarding the impact of social media on consumer behavior in the context of MSMEs.
