Abstract

Environmental problems, notably global warming, have recently emerged as a source of concern. In the world of architecture, there is a phenomenon known as "sick building syndrome," which refers to health and discomfort issues caused by poor air quality and air pollution in an occupied building, which affects residential productivity. There is also a lack of natural lighting and poor air ventilation. In addition to the existence of global warming, the development or invention of renewable energy becomes the impetus for the development of green buildings. As more people become interested in green building, timber materials become a viable option for creating a long-lasting structure. Wood has long been regarded as a sustainable material and a renewable resource. Wood may be protected in the forest by collecting naturally growing wood resources and following harvesting standards. Eco - friendly construction materials are required to decrease energy consumption, emissions, and trash or garbage in order to maintain a healthy and comfortable environment on the planet.

Abstract

The article aims to explain the authenticity of the architecture of the Balinese Aga Sidatapa traditional house, its optimization and the resulting impact of this optimization on the sustainability of tourism in Sidatapa Village. The civilization of the Balinese Aga community in Sidatapa Village is used to coexisting with mountainous nature (Aga land). Starting from meeting their food needs, their livelihoods, to providing building materials for their traditional houses, they depend on Aga's land. The Balinese Aga traditional house in Sidatapa Village has a unique form and spatial concept, different from the Balinese Dataran architecture in general. The architecture of Bali Dataran consists of several bale buildings and their appearance is enhanced with various decorations on each component of the building. While the architecture of the Balinese Aga traditional house in Sidatapa Village is in very simple condition, even the application of building materials takes from what is available on Aga land, such as bamboo, wood, and natural stone. So that when Sidatapa's cultural heritage is conserved, then indirectly Aga's land will also be preserved by the village community to fulfill their food and shelter needs, as well as to support their cultural activities. Thus, Sidatapa Village has considerable potential to become a sustainable tourism village. Optimization is done by making the architecture and settlements of Bali Aga Sidatapa an attraction for outsiders to come to the village. This proposal can be developed into a tourism program which in the future can help increase the income of Sidatapa Village. In this development, tourism is not the main goal, but rather emphasizes the development of authenticity as capital for better village development. The hope is that it can foster village independence and be able to share the right proportion of the tourism industry as part of the Sidatapa Village economy, as well as provide insight regarding the authenticity of the Balinese Aga Sidatapa traditional house architecture, both for the village community itself, academics, and the wider community.

Abstract

This study identifies changes that have occurred in Archipelago Traditional Architecture, in this case taking a case study of Traditional Houses in Kamanasa Village, Central Malacca District, Central Malacca District. Data collection was carried out using field surveys and direct interviews with indigenous peoples in Kamanasa Village. The analysis was carried out by comparing and describing the differences that reflect changes in traditional house buildings in Kamanasa Village from an architectural point of view. Along with the times, traditional houses in Kamanasa Village have changed in terms of function, spatial planning, to construction and building materials. This architectural change was influenced by the growing needs of the community, practicality in the development process, to the increasingly limited availability of old materials and began to be replaced with new ones. This architectural change also creates differences between buildings that tend to be sacred or bound by customary rules and buildings where indigenous peoples live in general. The changes occur in spatial planning that adapts to the needs of the occupants' activities. This has implications for the appearance of buildings that seem more closed and private. The standards for health, safety and security for the occupants have also increased, so that traditional houses which function as residences usually have undergone a change in the use of materials that are easy to clean and the use of structures that are felt to be stronger and safer.
