Abstract

The Barnum Effect is the tendency of individuals to accept personality feedback as true information, regardless of its validity. In this case, personality is defined as a relatively settled pattern that individuals have and use to adapt to their environment. The factor approach is used in defining personality which consists of five personality factors, namely openness to experience, conscientiousness, extraversion, agreeableness, and neuroticism. This study aims to test whether there is a Barnum Effect on personality in the adolescent population. The research design used is experimental and the type of research is one group pre-posttest. There were 138 students who were given manipulation in the form of a fake personality test and asked questions about the accuracy of their personality test results. The data in this study indicate that there are differences in personality scores on the factors of neuroticism, openness to experience, and agreeableness before being given personality feedback and after being given feedback. That is, there is a Barnum Effect found in adolescents and personality feedback has an effect on how adolescents perceive their personality.

Abstract

So far there is no research media available, especially in the field of psychology based on information systems that can provide direct rewards to participants in the form of participant self-report results in a study. The research media that currently exist only take participant data and cannot provide rewards directly. Rewards are usually in the form of phone credits which are given randomly to participant representatives who are selected by drawing lots. This is not in accordance with research ethics. Therefore, an information system-based psychological research media is needed that can be used by many psychology researchers, such as lecturers and students, so this research is important to do. This research is divided into two stages, namely the validity and reliability testing stage of the measuring instrument which is a pioneer in this information system and the design and application stage of the information system. The measuring tool that became a pioneer to be applied to menelisik.id is the Big Five Inventory Extra Short Forms 2 (BFI-2-XS) from Soto and John (2017). The website search.id was successfully designed and applied, in accordance with the research objectives. There were 241 respondents who used the BFI-2-XS measuring tool on menelisik.id, with most being in the high category for the agreeableness dimension. In addition, respondents were also asked to fill out a user satisfaction survey for searching.id, where the result was that 51.9% of respondents were satisfied. Henceforth, researching.id will be processed by Intellectual Property Rights and made to be more user friendly for researchers, both lecturers and students of the Faculty of Psychology, University of Pancasila.

Abstract

ABSTRACTRecently, ta'aruf is one of the practices for Indonesian Moslems to find a life partner. Choosing the right life partner is necessary because personality characteristics are a determining factor in marital satisfaction. This study aims to determine how much the influence of big five personality traits on marital satisfaction in ta'aruf couples. This research approach is a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional research design. Respondents in this study were married couples, aged 20-59 years, who have been married for at least one year and underwent ta'aruf for a maximum of three months, which were obtained using an accidental sampling technique. The instruments used in this study are the Skala Kepuasan Pernikahan Pasangan Urban with 38 items (reliability = 0.77) and NEO-FFI-3 with 61 items (reliability = 0.95 – 0.97) which analyzed by simple linear regression technique. The results showed that there was an effect of extraversion (35.4%), openness to experience (31%), conscientiousness (19.4%), and agreeableness (13.7%) on marital satisfaction (p<0.05). However, neuroticism (2.5%) was found to have no effect (p>0.05) on marital satisfaction. The results of the ANOVA test show that there is a difference in average marital satisfaction at the level of income per month owned by the respondents. Memilih pasangan hidup menjadi penting karena karakteristik kepribadian menjadi faktor penentu dalam marital satisfaction. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh antara big five personality traits terhadap marital satisfaction pada pasangan ta’aruf. Pendekatan penelitian ini adalah pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain penelitian cross-sectional. Responden penelitian ini adalah pasutri yang menikah dari proses ta’aruf, berusia 20-59 tahun, sudah menikah minimal satu tahun dan menjalani ta’aruf maksimal tiga bulan, yang diperoleh menggunakan teknik accidental sampling. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu, Skala Kepuasan Pernikahan Pasangan Urban dengan 38 item (reliabilitas = 0.77) dan NEO-FFI-3 dengan 61 item (reliabilitas = 0.95 – 0.97) yang dianalisa dengan teknik regresi linear sederhana. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh extraversion (35.4%), openness to experience (31%), conscientiousness (19.4%), dan agreeableness (13.7%) terhadap marital satisfaction (p<0.05). Namun, neuroticism (2.5%) ditemukan tidak memiliki pengaruh (p>0.05) terhadap marital satisfaction. Hasil uji ANOVA menunjukkan bahwa ada perbedaan rata – rata marital satisfaction pada tingkat penghasilan per bulan yang dimiliki responden. Hasil penelitian ini berfokus pada pentingnya untuk menumbuhkan karakteristik kepribadian yang dapat meningkatkan marital satisfaction pada pasangan ta’aruf, baik sebelum menikah maupun setelah menikah.Kata Kunci: arranged marriages, kepribadian big five, kepuasan pernikahan, ta’aruf, usia dewasa.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe “stay-at-home” policy to prevent the spread of  COVID-19 outbreak make individuals involved in several that can be done at home, one of them is gardening. The reason is simple, to prevent boredom. Gardening was found to reduce stress and depression and boost positive emotion. This study aims to explore the relationship between gardening activities and subjective well-being in people who work their garden out. Gardening activities were examined by several questions about their gardening activities carried out, meanwhile the level of subjective well-being was measured by two questions developed by ONS (Waldron, Tinkler & Hicks, 2010). There were as many as 868 participants involved voluntarily whose data were collected online. The result showed that the amount of time spent in the garden and the time spent doing the garden (gardening) is significantly positively related to evaluative and eudemonic components of well-being. The more time spent exposing themselves to greenery, individuals tend  to feel more satisfied with their lives and feel their lives is meaningful.Keywords: gardening, subjective well-being, covid-19 ABSTRAKKebijakan berdiam diri di rumah untuk mencegah merebaknya wabah corona membuat individu terlibat dalam beberapa aktivitas yang dapat dilakukan di rumah, salah satunya adalah berkebun. Alasannya sederhana, yaitu mencegah rasa bosan. Akan tetapi, aktivitas berkebun ditemukan dapat menurunkan stress dan depresi dan meningkatkan emosi positif. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui hubungan antara aktivitas berkebun dengan subjective well-being. Aktivitas berkebun diukur dengan memberikan pertanyaan terbuka tentang kegiatan berkebun yang dilakukan sedangkan dua pertanyaan yang dikembangkan oleh ONS (Waldron, Tinkler, dan Hicks, 2010) digunakan untuk mengetahui tingkat subjective well-being. Ada sebanyak 868 partisipan yang terlibat secara sukarela dalam penelitian yang pengumpulan datanya menggunakan kuesioner yang disebarkan secara daring. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa banyaknya waktu yang dihabiskan di kebun dan juga untuk berkebun berhubungan positif signifikan dengan komponen evaluative maupun eudemonic well being. Semakin banyak waktu yang dihabiskan untuk memaparkan diri dengan area hijau, individu cenderung merasa puas dengan hidupnya dan merasa hidupnya bermanfaat.Kata Kunci: Aktivitas berkebun, subjective well-being, Covid-19

Abstract

Many factors contribute to adolescents’ mental health, from changes within themselves to the outside world, which make adolescents vulnerable to mental health problems. In recent years, mental health issues have also begun to become a concern for educational institutions, including X Junior High School. In the last two years, several students have mental problems that interfere with their daily and academic functioning. Therefore, it is necessary to carry out some kind of follow-up action to prevent the development of mental health problems among students. Psychoeducational activities with the aim of increasing knowledge and awareness regarding maintaining mental health are carried out and provided to students and parents of grades VII and VIII face-to-face (offline) in the school. The results of this psychoeducation activity are that both students and parents have begun to demonstrate mental health literacy, although it is not yet comprehensive. Students know practical ways to deal with unpleasant situations, so it would be good if there was more specific training regarding self-management skills. At the end of the session the parents came to the conclusion that what is needed is not only understanding children who are in their teenage years but also considering what forms of interaction and assistance are suitable and acceptable for children. In the future, similar activities are also needed for schools to create a supportive environment for adolescents.

Abstract

Non-suicidal self-injury (NSSI) or self-harm is on the rise among Indonesian adolescents. As digital natives, they often turn to the internet for information, including mental health support. To address this issue, a team from the Faculty of Psychology and Informatics Engineering at Universitas Pancasila developed cintadiri.id, an information system designed to prevent and handle self-harm. The website offers a range of features, including psychoeducational articles, relaxation videos, a journaling tool, and consultations with psychologists. To evaluate the website's effectiveness, a survey was conducted among 30 participants aged 17-21. There are five questions given, such as "how attractive the design is", "how useful the website is", "how helpful". The results obtained an average value of 3.73 (scale 1-5) for all answers. This shows that the cintadiri.id website is feasible as a website that has the potential to prevent and handle self-harm. The development of this website and research on the use of websites as a tool to help handle self-are needed.   Abstrak Perilaku melukai diri sendiri tanpa intensi untuk bunuh diri, yang dikenal dengan istilah self-harm semakin marak dilakukan di Indonesia, khususnya oleh remaja. Remaja saat ini merupakan digital native yang banyak mencari informasi di internet, termasuk mencari bantuan psikologis terkait masalah yang sedang mereka hadapi. Maka dibutuhkan suatu sistem informasi untuk membantu pencegahan dan penanganan self-harm yang dilakukan oleh remaja. Kebutuhan akan hal tersebut dapat dipenuhi dengan pembuatan website yang dilakukan oleh tim dari Fakultas Psikologi dan Teknik Informatika Universitas Pancasila. Website untuk mencegah dan menangani self-harm yang dibuat dinamakan cintadiri.id yang merupakan bentuk kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat dengan jenis psikoedukasi secara online dan bersifat tetap. Pada website ini terdapat berbagai fitur, yaitu artikel psikoedukasi untuk mencegah self-harm, video relaksasi pernapasan untuk membantu pengguna menstabilkan emosi ketika merasakan emosi negatif berlebihan akibat peristiwa yang dihadapi, fitur journaling dan fitur bantuan layanan konsultasi psikologis dari Universitas Pancasila. Untuk mengetahui apakah website cintadiri.id memiliki kelayakan sebagai sistem informasi untuk mencegah dan menangani self-harm, maka dilakukan pengambilan data kepada 30 orang partisipan dengan rentang usia 17-21 tahun. Ada lima pertanyaan yang diberikan, seperti “seberapa menarik desainnya”, “seberapa berguna webnya”, “seberapa membantu”. Hasil diperoleh nilai rata-rata 3,73 (skala 1-5) untuk semua jawaban. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa web cintadiri.id layak sebagai web yang berpotensi dapat mencegah dan menangani self-harm. Adapun pengembangan terhadap website ini masih terus dilakukan dan penelitian penggunaan website sebagai alat membantu penanganan self-harm masih perlu dilakukan.

Abstract

Self-harm is an intentional act of self injury without suicidal intent. In Indonesia, self-harm is becoming an increasingly serious problem, especially among teenagers. Previous studies and surveys conducted by institutions shows quite significant results with relatively high numbers. Considering that the causes of self-harm are quite complex, there is a need for education about self-harm and access to mental health services. Based on aforementioned researches, a web-based information system was developed which the author called Cintadiri.id. Cintadiri.id was designed and developed as an innovative and comprehensive information system to help prevent and deal with self-harm behavior in Indonesia. This system hopes to help people who are struggling with self-harm behavior get the information and resources they need to get help and recover. Cintadiri.id information system was developed using SDLC Waterfall method, supported with PHP programming language, MySQL database and Laravel framework.  Cintadiri.id provides various information and resources that can help people who are struggling with self-harm, including information about self-harm, resources and tools to help people who are struggling with self-harm behavior. It is hoped that Cintadiri.id can be a reference for the information and resources they need to get help.

Abstract

Depression profoundly disrupts interpersonal relationships and impairs daily functioning. It is primarily associated with dysregulation of key neurotransmitter systems, making pharmacological intervention essential. Evidence indicates that combining pharmacotherapy with cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) produces superior outcomes compared to pharmacotherapy alone in managing depression. This case study examines the application of CBT alongside antidepressant medication in the treatment of a 26-year-old woman working in the financial sector who experienced chronic anxiety and pervasive feelings of inadequacy. Her cognitive distortions led her to interpret neutral stimuli as threatening. The administration of quetiapine improved her sleep quality and enhanced emotional resilience under stress. Subsequently, she completed four brief online CBT sessions, which resulted in significant cognitive restructuring and enabled her to critically evaluate and modify negative automatic thoughts in daily life. As a result, she demonstrated greater self-efficacy and developed a more positive self-concept. This case contributes to the growing body of evidence supporting the effectiveness of combined pharmacotherapy and CBT in reducing depressive symptoms among adult women.

Abstract

Anxiety disorder atau yang lebih dikenal sebagai gangguan kecemasan merupakan salah satu dari gangguan kesehatan mental yang paling banyak di idap oleh populasi dunia. Gangguan kecemasan merupakan gangguan yang ditandai dengan adanya gejala gelisah atau khawatir yang secara persisten hadir memengaruhi kehidupan individu, kesulitan tidur, gugup, atau merasakan kegelisahan yang berlebihan (DSM 5). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui terkait efektivitas pengunaan aplikasi meditasi terhadap kecemasan yang di idap oleh mahasiswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan  skema penelitian eksperimen  dan menggunakan desain penelitian Controlled Laboratory Experiment. Sampel penelitian melibatkan 5 partisipan yang merupakan Kelompok Eksperimen (KE), dengan kriteria partisipan adalah mahasiswa perguruan tinggi atau perguruan tinggi swasta dengan rentang usia 18-22 tahun. Pengukuran tingkat kecemasan dengan menggunakan alat ukur Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD-7) dari Drs. Robert L.et al. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa data tes awal dan tes akhir partisipan diketahui nilai signifikansi adalah P > 0.05 sehingga hasil pre dan post tes tidak mengalami perubahan yang signifikan. Sedangkan pada hasil analisis deskriptif data tes awal dan tes akhir diketahui terdapat nilai mean yang berbeda,  tes awal mean sebesar 8.40 dan tes terakhir nilai mean berkurang menjadi 5.20.  Berdasarkan data uji statistika paired sample t test bahwa tidak ada perubahan yang signifikan terhadap tingkat kecemasan mahasiswa yang mendapatkan intervensi berupa meditasi.
