Abstract

Standar KPI yaitu RSCP > 80% dan Ec/No > 70%.

Abstract

Kota Baru Parahyangan residential area, located in Padalarang sub-district of Bandung, has the quality and coverage of 3G and 4G cellular services that are not optimal, thus it has become a complaint of customers to the cellular providers. Therefore in this article a camouflage tower or Outdoor Distributed Antenna System (ODAS) is designed, which is a unique concept that helps in prividing connectivity in location where conventional tower construction is not permitted due to various regulations. This camouflage tower design aims to increase the number of cellular antennas but with minimal costs, land and human resources. In addition, this camouflage tower design has a high aesthetic value to be implemented in these elite residential areas. From the design and implementation results for 4G, the Reference Signal Received Power (RSRP) value is 70% at a value -90 dBm and Signal-to-Interference Noise Ratio (SINR) 70% at a value 5 dB according to the Key Performance Indicator (KPI) provider standard, while for 3G the Received Signal Code Power (RSCP) value is 70% at a value -78 dBm and Ec / No -12 dB. This shows that the quality and coverage both of 3G and 4G cellular services in this region have reached the target cellular providers.

Abstract

Based on the results of the survey and drive test on Jalan Karawitan Bandung - Indonesia, the value of radio parameters is considered poorly accepted by the Standard Operator Performance Indicator (KPI) standards. The parameters observed were Reference Received Power (RSRP) -90 dBm, Signal to Interference Noise Ratio (SINR) 5 dB, and throughput 800 Mbps. This region is a potential market region including tourist attractions, businesses, offices, and housing. In addition, based on data from the Operating Support System (OSS), there is an imbalance between traffic users and cell capacity that supports network quality. In addition, there are customer complaints about the quality of the Long Term Evolution (LTE) network in the office area. In this article cellseparation planning is carried out to increase the capacity and quality of LTE networks using Atoll 3.3 software. The results of planning show that an increase in network performance is the value of RSRP increased by 13.32%, SINR increased by 52.75%, and throughput increased by 236%.

Abstract

According to the identification of the Operating Support System (OSS) by the Smartfren cellular operator in the Central Bandung area, six sites are found to have high traffic capacity with the physical resource block (PRb) percentage of 82.6 %. The use of PRb > 80 % is included in the warning indicator 2 based on the operator’s standards. It is also strengthened by the condition of the existing sites with the average Reference Signal Receive Power (RSRP) of -103.3 dBm, Signal to Interference Noise Ratio (SINR) of 6.28 dB, and throughput of 27.78 Mbps, thus resulting in non-optimal network performance in the area. Therefore, in this study, the inter-band Carrier Aggregation (CA) was applied by combining the 40 Time Division Duplex (TDD) band (2300 MHz) and band 5 Frequency Division Duplex (FDD) (850 MHz). One of the advantages of applying this method is that it can increase the user network capacity by maximizing the resources owned by the operator. The predetermined scenario taking into account the initial network condition indicated a decrease in the PRb percentage by 44.50 % and an increase in the average RSRP value by 12.8 dBm, SINR by 5.14 dB, and throughput by 34.59 Mbps.
