Abstract

The aims of this study were to determine density and distribution pattern of ki-jing (G. virens) in Belawan Mangrove Ecosystem. Sample were collected with a smallsquares 1x1 m 2 as much as 45 with interval 1 m. The results of this study showed thehighest value of the density was found in station III 2.93 Ind /m 2 , while at the station I2.80 Ind / m 2 . The lowest one was found in station II 1.16 Ind / m 2 . Distribution patternof Kijing on station I and II was uniform with id value 0.645 and 0.958, on the contra-vy on station III was clumped with id value 1.421.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui faktor kondisi (K) dan Pola Pertumbuhan udang kelong (P. indicus) telah dilakukan di sekitar perairan muara yang memiliki ekosistem mangrove Belawan selama 3 bulan, sejak bulan Juni - Agustus 2016. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yang dalam menentukan 4 titik stasiun sampling adalah purposive random sampling dengan 2 kategori zona yaitu zona alami dan zona pemanfaatan. Pengambilan sampel udang kelong (P. indicus) dilakukan dengan menggunakan jaring ambai berbentuk kerucut yang terbuat dari bahan nilon. Pada tiap stasiun ditentukan 3 unit jaring tangkap sebagai ulangan (total jaring 12 unit/bulan). Analisa data pola pertumbuhan udang menggunakan rumus persamaan hubungan panjang dan bobot Effendie (2002) dan analisa faktor kondisi relatif (K) menggunakan rumus Rypel dan Ritcher (2008). Hasil penelitian diperoleh bahwa Pola pertumbuhan udang (P. indicus) di perairan mangrove Belawan seluruhnya kategori allometrik negatif (b < 3) dimana nilai b tertinggi pada stasiun I sebesar 2.82, dan terendah berada pada stasiun III sebesar 1.26. Hal ini kemungkinan dipengaruhi oleh letak lokasi stasiun I yang hampir mendekati daratan, sehingga diduga kondisi substrat sesuai bagi kebutuhan perkembangan udang kelong. Nilai faktor kondisi (K) P. Indicus  tertinggi berada pada stasiun II sebesar 1,71 dan nilai yang terendah pada stasiun III sebesar 1,20. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan udang kelong (P. Indicus) pada seluruh stasiun tergolong dalam kondisi pipih atau tidak gemuk.

Abstract

The aims of this study were to understand the effect of thermal shock onthe incubation duration and hatching rate of abalone eggs. Experimental designemployed was the complete randomize design (CRD) with three treatment factorswith three replications. These treatment factors were the thermal shock of thedifferent temperatures namely 20o C, 26oC and 40oC. The result showed thatshock treatment have significant different among treatments on the incubationduration and hatching rate of abalone eggs. The shortest incubation duration foundon the treatment of 40oC (4,9 hours). While the longest incubation duration foundon the treatment of 20oC (6,67 hours). The highest hatching rate of eggs found onthe treatment of (26 oC (98 %), and the lowest hatching rate was on the treatmentof 20oC (87 %).

Abstract

Hilsa shad Tenualosa ilishais of the indigenous fish species and the icon of the Labuhanbatu Regency, Indonesia. Presently, a very limited study was done in this species. Hence, the purpose of this study was to analyse the distribution and growth patterns based on the length-weight relationship of Hilsa shad T. ilishaon Bilah River, Labuhanbatu District, Sumatera Utara Province, Indonesia. Sampling was carried out for 3 months starting in February-April 2019 with the exploration method. Determination of sampling locations based on information from local fishermen. Analysis of distribution data used the Morisita index and growth patterns used the Linear Allometric Model (LAM). The analysis results of Hilsa shad distribution indicated that these fish were distributed in groups/clustered with the Morisita index value of 2.211-2.314. The growth pattern of the fish was negative allometric with a value of b3. Correlation analysis showed that DO was closely related to distribution (r2=0.661), meanwhile, light penetration was closely related to growth patterns (r2=0.914). It is concluded that the distribution of Hilsa shad fish in the Bilah River was in groups or clustered, with a negative allometric growth pattern. Keywords: Hilsa Shad, distribution, growth pattern, Tenualosa ilisha

Abstract

Julung-julung (Hemirhamphodon pogonognathus) merupakan salah satu spesies ikan asli Indonesia. Aek Mailil merupakan salah satu habitat ikan julung-julug (H. pogonognathus) yang berada di Kabupaten Labuhanbatu. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mendapatkan hubungan panjang-berat dan faktor kondisi ikan julung-julung (H. pogonognathus) yang hidup di Aek Mailil. Pengambilan data dilakukan mulai November 2020 hingga Januari 2021 dengan alat tangkap durung. Titik sampling ditetapkan atas informasi dari masyarakat Desa Bandar Kumbul. Hubungan panjang-berat dihitung dengan Linear Allometrik Model (LAM), sedangkan faktor kondisi dihitung dengan rumus Fulton (K) dan berat relatif (Wr). Pola pertumbuhan ikan julung-julung (H. pogonognathus) mendapatkan hasil alometrik negatif dengan nilai b 2,9371 (b<3). Nilai koefisien Fulton (K) 2,57 dan koefisien berat relatif (Wr) 103,07. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa pola pertumbuhan ikan julung-julung (H. pogonognathus) allometrik negatif dengan panjang tubuh lebih cepat dibandingkan berat tumbuh. Nilai (K) menunjukkan bahwa Aek Mailil masih dalam keadaan seimbang dan baik untuk mendukung kehidupan ikan julung-julung (H. pogonognathus). Kata kunci: faktor kondisi; Hemirhamphodon pogonognathus; pola pertumbuhan ABSTRACTLong-Weight relationship and condition factors of Julung-Julung (Hemirhamphodon pogonognathus) in Aek Mailil, Labuhanbatu Regency, North Sumatera, Indonesia. Hemirhamphodon pogonognathus is one of Indonesia's native fish species. Aek Mailil is one of the habitats for julung-julung (H. pogonognathus) in Labuhanbatu Regency. This study aimed to determine the relationship between length-weight and condition factors of julung-julung (H. pogonognathus) living in Aek Mailil. Sampling was carried out from November 2020 to January 2021 using durung fishing gear. The sampling points were determined based on information from the local community of Bandar Kumbul Village. The relationship of length-weight is calculated using the Linear Allometric Model (LAM), while the condition factor is calculated using the Fulton formula (K) and relative weight (Wr). The growth pattern of julung-julung (H. pogonognathus) got a negative allometric result with a b value of 2.9371 (b <3). The value of the Fulton coefficient (K) 2.57 and the relative weight coefficient (Wr) 103.07. Abstract

A clam angelwing is one kind of razor clam. His life Habitat is found in the Kelang Beach district of Serdang Bedagai, North Sumatera Province. The purpose of this research is to know the characteristics of tembarang shell nests. This research is an exploratory, discrete study. The findings Data are narrated and discussed based on the relevant literature review. Based on the findings in the field, the characteristics of the nest angelwing clam are listed as follows: Distance from the shoreline between 30-70 meters, The diameter of the nest length is 0.5-1.5 cm and the width is 0.3-1 cm, the holes are round and round oval, usually holes consist of 1-5 pieces. Hole depth 10-40 cm, on the surface of the hole there are shavings or piles of sand, and 1 hole filled 1 individual. Average water quality observation during research: water temperature (29-30 °C), Water brightness (25-40 cm), water pH (7,5-7,9), dissolved oxygen (5,6-5,9 ppm), and salinity (29-30 ppt).

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan dalam rangka menyajikan informasi keberadaan populasi Labi-Labi (Amyda cartilaginea) di sekitar perairan desa Sababangunan Kabupaten Padang Lawas Utara.  Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pola pertumbuhan labi-labi (A.cartilaginea) dan kondisi kualitas parameter fisik-kimia air pendukung kehidupan labi-labi (A. cartilaginea) di Desa Sababangunan Kabupaten Padang Lawas Utara. Penentuan lokasi penelitian dilakukan secara purposive sampling, dan pengumpulan sampel dilakukan menggunakan metode penangkapan. Analisis data meliputi kisaran panjang lengkung karapas, berat tubuh, hubungan panjang-berat, pola pertumbuhan dan deskripsi dari faktor fisik kimia perairan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan panjang lengkung kerapas berkisar dari 10,5-28,5 cm dan berat tubuh berkisar dari 190-1800 gr. Model hubungan panjang lengkung karapas dengan berat labi-labiadalah 0,016L2,234174 dan pola pertumbuhan bersifat alometrik negatif (b< 3). Rata-rata nilai kualitas air di sekitar perairan sungai Bilah masih dalam kisaran toleransi kehidupan labi-labi.

Abstract

Ikan Belida adalah salah satu ikan endemik di Sumatera yang sudah dilindungi. Kawasan perairan rawa Sungai Barumun diketahui sebagai habitat hidupnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui aspek biologi ikan belida di daerah rawa Sungai Barumun. Penelitian ini sebagai upaya observasi untuk mengetahui aspek biologi terkait pola pertumbuhan dan nisbah kelamin. Pola pertumbuhan dan nisbah kelamin dijadikan sebagai sebagai indikator untuk kondisi populasinya di alam. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksploratif, stasiun pengamatan ditentukan dengan metode Purposive sampling. pola pertumbuhan ikan belida menunjukan allometrik negative. Nisbah kelamin jantan dan betina ikan belida diketahui dengan perbandian 1,2:0,8. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan kondisi populasi ikan belida di kawasan perairan rawa Sungai Barumun dalam Kondisi terancam. Perlu dilakukan upaya konservasi habitat, sehingga populasinya di alam bisa terjaga.

Abstract

The existence of gold mining activities in mailil river can disrupt the stability of the ecosystem, fishing by using toxins, which may result in a decrease in fish populations in the river mailil. This study aims to obtain information related to biological and ecological aspects (Barbonymus gonionotus) in river Mailil, Village. This study was conducted from November 2020 to January 2021. The locations for sampling were determined based on information from the local community in Bandar Kumbul Village. Samples were caught using nets, traps, and nets Sampling was conducted from 09:00 am to 03:00 pm. The biological aspect being measured was the length-weight relationship of the fish using the linear allometric model (LAM). Meanwhile, the ecological aspect being measured was the condition factor using Fulton’s K equation and relative weight (Wr) equation. In this study, 54 silver barbs (B. gonionotus) were successfully caught as samples. The results of the length-weight relationship analysis indicated a negative allometric relationship with the value of b = 0.52 (b < 3). Furthermore, the value of Fulton’s K condition factor was 27.75, while the value of relative weight (Wr) condition factor was 100.07. These results indicated that river Mailil as an ecosystem and habitat of silver barbs is in the balance condition.Keywords: Length-weight relationship, Barbonymus gonionotus, aek mailil

Abstract

Gulamah fish (Johnius trachycephalus) is one type of fish that is widely consumed by the community. Prolonged use of Gulamah fish can have an impact on population decline caused by fishing activities. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between length and weight and condition factors of Gulamah fish in the waters of the Barumun River, Labuhanbatu Regency, North Sumatra Province. Sampling points were determined based on information from local fishermen. The Gulamah fish were taken using a net, with a net length of 20 m and a width of 8 m. Sampling was carried out four times for three months. The Gulamah fish that have been caught are then taken to the Ecology Laboratory, Labuhanbatu University, for measuring length, weighing, and separating fish by sex and so on. The number of samples during this study caught 36 fish, with a total length of Gulamah fish of 15.7 cm to 19.7 cm respectively, where the total length of the dominant fish caught averaged 18.16 cm. Meanwhile, the weight of Gulamah fish ranges from 70 grams to 113 grams, with an average fish weight of 95.08 grams. To analyze the relationship between length and weight, the Linear Allometric Model (MAL) was used, by calculating the constants a and b through length and weight measurements. While the condition factor is calculated using a metric system based on the relationship between the length and weight of the sample fish. The results showed that the relationship between the length and weight of Gulamah fish was negative allometric, which means that the length growth of the fish was faster than the weight growth. Then the condition factor states that the Barumun River supports the growth of Gulamah fish.
