Abstract

Abstract

This study aimed to evaluate the effects of incorporating Moringa leaf flour and maggot flour into feed on the growth performance of stiped catfish (Pangasius sp.). The experiment was conducted using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with six treatments and three replications: A (control), B (25% Moringa leaf flour + 5% maggot flour), C (20% Moringa leaf flour + 10% maggot flour), D (15% Moringa leaf flour + 15% maggot flour), E (10% Moringa leaf flour + 20% maggot flour), and F (5% Moringa leaf flour + 25% maggot flour). ANOVA results showed a significant effect (P<0.05) on absolute length and weight gain, feed conversion ratio (FCR), feed efficiency (FE), and specific growth rate (SGR), but no significant effect on survival rate (SR) (P>0.05). Treatment D produced the best growth performance, with an absolute length of 2.06±0.34 cm, absolute weight of 3.91±0.50 g, survival rate of 100.0±0.00%, feed efficiency of 62.34±7.65%, feed conversion ratio of 1.62±0.19, and specific growth rate of 1.69±0.22% per day. Based on the 45-day study, combining 15% Moringa leaf flour and 15% maggot flour in treatment D yielded the best results for stiped catfish growth parameters.

Abstract

Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) is an important aquaculture species due to its fast growth and high economic value, with feed quality being a key factor in production efficiency. This study evaluated the effects of dietary green tea (Camellia sinensis) leaf flour on growth performance, hematological parameters, and intestinal histology of Nile tilapia. A completely randomized design was applied with six dietary treatments (02.5 g/kg feed) and three replicates each. Supplementation at 1.5 g/kg produced the best growth response, with significant improvements (P 0.05) in weight gain (7.24 0.91 g), length gain (3.61 0.21 cm), and specific growth rate (2.67 0.20%/day), while feed conversion ratio, feed efficiency, and survival did not differ among treatments. Hematological values varied but remained within normal physiological ranges. Histological analysis indicated enhanced villi morphology, suggesting improved nutrient absorption. The bioactive properties of C. sinensis highlight its potential as a functional feed additive to improve tilapia growth and health, offering practical applications for sustainable aquaculture. Keywords:TilapiaGreen tea leaf flourFish growth performanceHematological parametersFeed additiveRasakan sensasi serunya bermain tanpa hambatan di situs link gacorqq, kesempatan mendapatkan jackpotnya cukup mudah dan sangat cepat.

Abstract

Whiteleg shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei) is a high-value aquaculture commodity in Indonesia, with continuously increasing production. However, the high cost of imported feed poses a challenge, necessitating alternative local feed ingredients such as green tea leaves, which are rich in catechins, to improve feed efficiency. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of green tea leaf powder supplementation on the growth and survival rate of whiteleg shrimp. A Completely Randomized Design (CRD) was employed with six treatments (0, 0.125, 0.25, 0.5, 1, and 2 g/kg feed) and three replications over 49 days. The results showed that the 0.25 g/kg dose yielded the best absolute weight gain (0.67 g), absolute length gain (3.36 cm), specific growth rate (13.30%/day), feed efficiency (90.82%), and feed conversion ratio (1.10), significantly differing from other treatments. Shrimp survival rates remained high (>90%) across all treatments. It was concluded that supplementing 0.25 g/kg green tea leaf powder in feed optimally enhances growth and feed efficiency in whiteleg shrimp without affecting survival rates.

Abstract

This study aimed to examine the gonadal characteristics and reproductive strategies of the green mussel Perna viridis in Banyuurip Bay, Java Sea, Gresik Regency, Indonesia, with a focus on oocyte size, gonad morphology, and seasonal variations in reproductive activities. Micromorphological and field observations analysis revealed that the gonad, the site of gametogenesis in female mussels, is characterized by an orange colour. In contrast, in males, it is creamy white. During gametogenesis, the diameter of the oocyte increases from 0.28 to 0.60 μm at the oogonia stage and to 1.17 to 3.19 μm when it becomes a vitellogenic oocyte. Significant daily and seasonal variations are observed, which may contribute to high environmental pressure on the population. The green mussel population continues to grow despite ecological disturbances, including food scarcity and high levels of pollution, which are exerting pressure on the population. The significantly smaller oocyte size compared to other populations was identified as a potential adaptation to these challenges. These findings underscore the importance of understanding reproductive strategies to support sustainable mussel cultivation and effective management, particularly in areas characterized by fluctuating environmental conditions.
