In political conversation, Ibn Rushd named his political philosophy with the terms “Al-Jumhuriyah wa al-Ahkam†(Republic and Law). This political thought is a form of integration of science and deed. In this political context, Ibn Rushd prioritizes freedom and independence. In the perspective of Ibn Rushd, independence is not without rules, but independence and freedom that compatible with religion. In the perspective of Ibn Rushd, such freedom and independence is mirror of democracy. In politics, Ibn Rushd’s thinking is similar to the thoughts of previous philosophers who reconcile between religion and philosophy. According to Ibn Rushd, there is no contradiction between reason and religion, and therefore it is important for reason and religion to work together to uphold the principles of democracy in a country.

This study aims to further explain Badiuzzaman Said Nursi's thought on prophethood. This library study employs a historical approach in extracting data and content analysis. The study shows that Said Nursi's thought concerning prophecy stems from his criticisms of the materialistic-mechanistic paradigm of Western civilization. This view basically rejects the transcendental perspective and spiritual values in understanding nature. The notion of materialism from the West attacks the key concepts of Islamic teachings. Realizing this, Nursi was called upon to give a very serious intellectual response. It was at this point that Nursi offered his ideas on prophethood. In Risālah an-Nūr, Said Nursi strives to revive prophetic values by applying theological approaches to be easily understood by society. Nursi’s thought is built on an effort to revive prophetic values so that it could shed light on Turkish people who had suffered serious illnesses due to the influences of the Western paradigm of mechanical materialism.y. This prophetic knowledge would eventually end in faith, which leads to eternal happiness for believers and eternal misery for unbelievers.Artikel ini bertujuan untuk lebih menjelaskan pemikiran Badiuzzaman Said Nursi tentang kenabian. Studi literatur ini menggunakan pendekatan historis dalam mengekstraksi data dan melakukan analisis konten. Studi ini menunjukkan bahwa pemikiran Said Nursi tentang nubuat berasal dari paradigma materialisme-mekanistik yang lahir dari peradaban Barat. Pandangan ini pada dasarnya menolak perspektif transendental dan nilai-nilai spiritual dalam memahami alam. Gagasan materialisme dari Barat menyerang konsep-konsep kunci ajaran Islam. Menyadari hal ini, Nursi dipanggil untuk memberikan respons intelektual yang sangat serius. Pada titik inilah Nursi menawarkan gagasannya tentang kenabian. Dalam Risālah an-Nūr, Said Nursi berusaha untuk menghidupkan kembali nilai-nilai kenabian dengan menerapkan pendekatan teologis agar mudah dipahami oleh publik. Pemikiran Bediuzzaman dibangun dalam upaya untuk menghidupkan kembali nilai-nilai kenabian sehingga dapat memberikan cahaya kepada orang-orang Turki yang sudah menderita penyakit serius karena pengaruh Barat dengan paradigma materialisme mekanis yang tidak memiliki dimensi spiritualitas. Pengetahuan kenabian ini pada akhirnya akan berakhir dalam iman, yang oleh Bediuzzaman disebut kebahagiaan esensial (manusia memiliki iman) bagi manusia, dan yang menolak (kufur) keberadaan peran Tuhan dan Nabi, yang merupakan kesengsaraan sejati.

This discussion aims to explain further the effect of Hamzah Fansuri's mystical thought to the muslim intellectual tradition in the archipelago. This research is a library research using a historical approach to obtain data and conducting content analysis. This research show that Hamzah Fansuri was the first in the Archipelago who wrote on mystical thoughtin a systematic form that had roots in a strong scientific approach and pure of deviation and perfect in reference to Arabsources. From the works of Ḥamzah Fanṣūrī, we can see his mystical style of writing which had a distinctive character, in contrast to other Fansuri's who lived in the past. Although the influence of wahdah al-wujud was still strong, Hamzah Fansuri was able to transform the term in Arabic into Malay, so it could be understood by people who were unable to speak Arabic. Hamzah Fansuri provided new technical concepts in Malay; he has made the language fully adequate to discussthe doctrines of philosophical and metaphysical thought formulated by previous Sufis. Hamzah Fansuri is not only as the originator and pioneer of Sufism wujudiyah in the archipelago, but also as laying the foundations of Islamic studies and integration of Islam and culture.

This study wants to analyze the common points and the points of difference between Western and Islamic philosophy. This is qualitative research using the exploratory-analytical method. This study finds that Western and Islamic philosophy has contributed to each other. The common point between Western and Islamic Philosophy lies in transmitting the truth. Meanwhile, we can see the point of difference in three aspects. First is the source of knowledge. Western philosophy comes from reason and the five senses, while Islamic philosophy is not only that but also from authority (al-Quran and al-Sunnah). Second, the characteristics of knowledge. Characteristics of knowledge in Western philosophy, namely, skeptical, rational-empirical, dichotomous, and positivistic-objective; while in Islamic Philosophy, namely, Qur'anic, harmonization of reason and revelation, theocentric, and value point of view. The third is the truth value of knowledge. The truth value of knowledge in Western philosophy is relative, while Islamic philosophies are absolute and some are relative.

This paper examines ‘Abd al-Ra’ūf al-Sinkili’s concept of tawhid. Using a historical approach and content analysis, this paper argues that tawhid is an important aspect in Islam and becomes an interesting discourse in the Islamic intellectual tradition, especially Sufism. ‘Abd al-Ra’ūf al-Sinkili stated that the first commitment for a human being is to accept the Oneness of Allah, and purity it from all things inappropriate to Him with the statement of lā ilaha illā Allāh. This affirms that Allah is believed to be the only Being. There is no existence without the existence of Allah (lā ilāha illā Allāh). This statement of creed implies two meanings: to negate any existence (al-nafyu), and to confirm only one existence (al-ithbāt), which is the existence of al-Haqq (the true Being). Al-Sinkili also states that Allah is One, without our attempt to make Him One. Allah is true without a need to truth legitimation from humans.

Gender-based discrimination still occurs in various aspects of life. In fact, currently gender equality has experienced extraordinary progress. The nature and severity of discrimination varies widely between countries and regions. Women do not enjoy equal access to political, social and economic rights in any country or region in the world. This research is qualitative research with the type of library research. This research seeks to understand how gender equality is represented in the Barbie film using descriptive analysis methods. The primary data source used in this research is the film Barbie The Movie. This primary source is in the form of scenes or images that show gender equality in the film Barbie The Movie. This data is obtained from the Loklok application. Later, relevant data will be collected and examined through an analysis process. The results of this research show how the Barbie film inspires women around the world and promotes gender equality. Through engaging storytelling, Barbie films inspire girls to recognize gender differences, believe in themselves, and achieve their goals. Diskriminasi berbasis gender masih terjadi di berbagai aspek kehidupan. Faktanya, saat ini kesetaraan gender telah mengalami kemajuan yang luar biasa. Sifat dan tingkat keparahan diskriminasi sangat bervariasi antar negara dan wilayah. Perempuan tidak menikmati akses yang sama terhadap hak-hak politik, sosial dan ekonomi di negara atau wilayah mana pun di dunia. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian kepustakaan. Penelitian ini berupaya memahami bagaimana kesetaraan gender direpresentasikan dalam film Barbie dengan menggunakan metode analisis deskriptif. Sumber data primer yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah film Barbie The Movie. Sumber primer ini berupa adegan atau gambar yang menampilkan kesetaraan gender dalam film Barbie The Movie. Data ini didapat dari aplikasi Loklok. Nantinya, data yang relevan akan dikumpulkan dan diperiksa melalui proses analisis. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bagaimana film Barbie menginspirasi perempuan di seluruh dunia dan mempromosikan kesetaraan gender. Melalui penyampaian cerita yang menarik, film Barbie menginspirasi anak perempuan untuk mengenali perbedaan gender, percaya pada diri sendiri, dan mencapai tujuan mereka.

This study aims to explain further the cosmological argument of Hamzah Fansuri. This research is library research using a historical approach to obtain data and conduct content analysis. According to Hamzah Fansuri, every single thing in this world that either can or cannot be seen can be pictured as a circle or curvature, the two corners of which can meet each other. Half of the curvature is “the down way curvature” (tanazzul) that is the way of the creation of the universe and its content; the manifestation process from the Oneness or the Higher Existence (Who cannot be known physically) to become many existence or the reality that can be seen physically. The other curvature is “the up-way curvature” (taraqqī), which is a way of creation from physical to metaphysical existence. The entire levels or structure of being are summarized in the person and the human being’s existence as a perfect creature of physical and spiritual quality. Therefore, the universe can only be returned to the One through humans. The concept of cosmology in the Fansuri’s thought is to show the unity and interrelationship of all existence that leads to divine oneness.

This research aimed to understand the characteristics of the pesantren’s culture, which is based on transnational culture. This study utilized a mixed-methods approach, including interviews with pesantren leaders and students and participant observations within the pesantren community. The findings revealed that transnational culture within pesantren is influenced by global Islamic discourses and practices while maintaining traditional Indonesian cultural elements. Understanding these characteristics is crucial for policymakers and educators to address the evolving landscape of Islamic education in Indonesia. Further research is needed to explore the impact of transnational culture on the development of pesantren in the future. The Salafi’s Islamic Boarding School, Zād al-Maʿād, was chosen as the research site for that purpose. The approach employed in this research is cultural anthropology with data collection tools in documentation studies, observations, and interviews. The findings emphasize the adaptability of Salafi pesantren to local customs and traditions, showcasing a unique blend of global ideology and local practices that contribute to the movement's continued success in Indonesia. Based on qualitative analysis, the boarding school is also an agent of Islamic preaching in spreading Salafi’s understanding and a center for the cadre of Salafi’s preachers from a young age. The Salafi’s network can use its program to organize various international programs.

In politics, Ibn Rushd’s thinking is similar to the thoughts of previous philosophers who reconcile religion and philosophy. The findings highlight that Ibn Rushd’s philosophy emphasizes the harmony between religion and rationality as essential to upholding democratic values in governance. There is no contradiction between reason and religion, according to Ibn Rushd, and therefore it is important for reason and religion to work together to uphold the principles of democracy in a country. This study contributes to the scholarly discourse by providing a methodological framework that bridges classical Islamic philosophy with contemporary political theory, offering insights into how Ibn Rushd’s ideas can inform modern governance.
